Shaded Soul Band is based in Connecticut and travels across New England to perform at weddings, corporate functions, outdoor concerts, and other events. R&B, Motown, Funk Soul, Jazz, Reggae, Swing, Rock, Pop, Disco, and Top 40 are only a few of the decades represented in our music. Five of our eight members sing lead vocals so we are able to offer a wide range of music to choose from. If you are looking for a high-energy, fun, versatile live wedding band with a flair for style and sophistication you have found us!
Shaded Soul Band instantly puts you at ease and alleviates the stress of planning your special day. We listen to your ideas, concerns, and desires and make it our mission to create the event of your dreams. In this day and age of automation, we remain grounded in the philosophy of establishing a personal warm, and professional relationship with every client in “real-time.” This face-to-face philosophy guarantees that your event will be retrofit to address every detail and tailors to your specific needs. We maintain constant contact with you in the months before your event.

We loved Shaded Soul Band!
Renee and the rest of Shaded Soul Band were incredible! They were the first vendor we booked in the planning process, and truly set the tone for what to look for to help make your wedding go smoothly. Renee was incredibly responsive, helped us find other vendors, and was down for whatever we threw at her. The band did an incredible job learning both our first dance song and a requested song to open up the dance floor, and from there they continued to absolutely kill it the rest of the night. They brought the perfect energy with a diverse set list to keep all our guests across many generations dancing all night long. We will recommend them to anyone and everyone looking for an amazing band!

THE PERFECT WEDDING BAND!
From our first conversation with Renee from Shaded Soul Band, we knew we'd made the right choice. She stayed in touch throughout the entire planning process, checking in regularly and asking thoughtful questions about what we wanted our reception to feel like. Their attention to detail showed in everything they did—they had our timeline down perfectly and knew exactly when to shift the energy on the dance floor. We really appreciated how responsive they were to every request and how much they genuinely cared about making our celebration special! This band can do ANYTHING, ANY SONG, and are so versatile - the perfect band for any wedding! Renee even had the saxophone player come onto the dance floor and make my mom’s dream come true! You made the planning process so easy for us as a band because you were so easy to work with. When you said your Mother loved the saxophone I tucked that little bit of information in my back pocket and called my sax player onto the floor for a little one on one time playing for your Mother. The compliments won’t stop coming!
We booked Shaded Soul Band for our wedding this past March and couldn't be happier with the decision. A live band was an absolute must for our wedding day and Shaded Soul was the perfect choice. Renee, the band leader stayed in touch with us throughout the entire planning process and answered every question with helpful details. She worked behind the scenes with our venue and our schedules, providing a truly stress-free experience since the first inquiry. On our wedding day, the band kept the fun and energy up all night, our guests were dancing from start to finish with a perfect mix of songs. They're polished professionals who really know how to read the room and keep the party going. They even learned our first dance song (which they did a phenomenal job with). Renee also coordinated a song in honor of my late father which was so special and meaningful to myself and my now husband. We continue to receive compliments about Shaded Soul, even weeks after the wedding! Thank you so much to Renee and the entire Shaded Soul band for making a last impression on our wedding!

Best wedding band ever
Renee and Shaded Soul Band were the life of the party at our wedding in Madison CT this June!! After speaking with a number of Boston and NY based bands, we came across Shaded Soul and had the opportunity to chat with Renee. For the first time in the process we didn't feel like we were being sold magazines at the door or an overpriced used car with hidden problems. Renee spoke with us like we were real people, had endless tips and tricks for planning a fantastic reception, and didn't nickel and dime us for every extra note sung or string strummed. Renee and Shaded Soul provided music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. They accommodated our friends acoustic guitar number during the ceremony, played playlists we had put together during times they weren't playing, but when it came time to play the right song to keep everyone on the dance floor, we left it to the band and they made all the right choices.... we saved money on booze because no one would take a break from dancing to go to the bar! The musicianship of this band is top notch, they are all masters of their crafts and unlike many other wedding bands they have clearly been playing together for years. No rotating through a roster of musicians, booking the band under the same name at multiple events in one night, just a group of talented players with a deep repertoire whose passion is getting people to dance and have a great time. A huge thanks to Renee and Shaded Soul Band for helping make our wedding the best night of our lives!
