Musician/leader

Kate plays all kinds of music. She moves seamlessly from current and past popular, rock, soul, to elegant classical and jazz, folk, country, movie themes and more. She has extensive experience playing solo and leading ensembles at weddings, receptions, private events, concerts, schools, restaurants and recording studios. She loves writing her own arrangements so you can hear the music you want – requests are welcome!

As a VIOLIN player, folks often think I don't really play certain kinds of music. But I love and enjoy playing all kinds of music and have a reputation for putting together and learning special requests for music we do not already play!!

    Kate and her fellow musician were wonderful from start to finish. She was communicative, easy to work with, and provided us with a beautiful cello/violin duo for our wedding ceremony. The selection of music was extensive, and she even allowed us to pick a song of our choice, which she arranged and played for our special day. She was in touch with our officiant, photographer, and wedding coordinator ahead of time, so we didn't have to worry about logistics, and she was on-time and just completely lovely the day-of. We didn't stress at all and were so appreciative of her excellent work. Highly recommend O'Brien Strings!

    O'Brien Strings was the perfect complement to my daughter’s garden wedding. The bride walked down the aisle to Pachelbel Canon which was played exquisitely and flawlessly by the TRIO. Their presence added a special, elegant touch to the ceremony. The guests raved about how wonderful the musical selection sounded and to this day we still receive compliments on their performance. Kate was a pleasure to work with and always responded promptly to my emails. Without a doubt, I highly recommend O’Brien Strings for any type of event.
