Nexus Strings is a group of passionate and professional musicians with unique training in both classical and contemporary music. Whether you are looking for a traditional string quartet for your ceremony or a pop & rock ensemble for your reception, our music will be the soul of your event. Nexus musicians have had the opportunity to perform, train, and record with both local and world-renowned artists, and take pride in embracing the unique essence of every genre. Have you always wanted to walk down the aisle to Canon in D or would you prefer to skip down the aisle to Sweet Child O' Mine? Whatever your unique style, we will make it happen.

Nexus doesn't just provide string music. We offer honest service, bright personalities, a fresh perspective on an ancient art form, and, most of all, genuinely-inspired music making. Whether we are on a concert stage or at a wedding ceremony, our name encompasses our love for connecting people through unique and elevated musical experiences.

    We loved having Nexus strings play our ceremony and cocktail hour at our wedding. They were professional, organized, responsive, and very talented. They have a great selection of music and are very easy to work with for personal requests as well. Our wedding music ran smoothly and exactly how we had hoped.

    Nexus Strings did a wonderful job playing for our wedding ceremony, they made it extra memorable and special. Their pricing was very reasonable and Kayla was so easy to work with - she took all the stress out of the music planning, and had helpful expertise to make sure everything went smoothly on the day of.

    We absolutely loved having Nexus Strings as part of our wedding day at the Denver Botanic Gardens! They played throughout our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, and the music made every part of the day feel so elegant, romantic, and dreamy. The musicians were INCREDIBLY talented, professional, and wonderful to work with. Communication was excellent throughout the planning process, and everything was completely seamless on our wedding day. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful the music was.     We had Nexus Strings play at our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour and it completely changed the vibe. I could not imagine not having them play on our special day! From the very start Kayla was kinda, communicative & accommodating. If you are looking for a quartet to play at your wedding or another special event, I HIGHLY recommend Nexus Strings! Yes, we can absolutely learn new songs! Music not currently found on our repertoire list typically costs $30-$70/song to compensate for the time it takes to arrange the piece(s) for strings. Certain songs work better than others for strings, so please note that new repertoire is added only at Nexus' discretion.
You can select whatever music from our repertoire that fits your unique style. We provide an online music planner to make the selection process simple for your ceremony or reception, but are always available to make suggestions and help you put together a list that flows well and completes your vision for the event.​
We can perform anywhere from 1 to 4 hours – from the ceremony through the end of the event. Our most popular booking is 2 hours for prelude while guests arrive, ceremony, and cocktail hour. Of course, we can easily customize a timeline and quote based on your unique needs!
Contact Kayla Hayes via Zola or email kayla@nexusstrings.com. We simply ask for a 30% non-refundable deposit and signed contract to reserve your time and date.
The contracted time starts when Nexus begins performance and does not need to include travel, setup or teardown. It does, however, include any downtime during the event such as speeches, breaks, etc. We will arrive approximately 30 minutes before the start time on the contract. You will only be charged for the amount of time on the contract and any overtime incurred at the event.
Weather permitting, we can play outdoors. We do require at least 10x10' of full overhead coverage and shade, and temperatures cannot be lower than 60 degrees. Since our instruments are delicate, we reserve the right to discontinue performance if they are in danger. However, we understand that Colorado weather can be temperamental – we will always work with you on a backup plan as needed!
If you are supplying another musician (such as a vocalist), there will be an extra charge to compensate for music arrangements as well as rehearsal and collaboration time. We will schedule a rehearsal with the other musician(s) at the venue on the day of the event. If you would like us to rehearse on a separate day, hourly rates and travel may apply.
We wear mostly black business attire unless the client requests otherwise. The men typically wear black button-up shirts, but have the option of ties and jackets as necessary. If your event has a specific dress code, please let us know well in advance.
