I've been working in the wedding industry since 2014, and i've been a licensed cosmetologist since 2017. Wedding makeup and hair
My wedding was in March, and I chose to wait a few weeks before writing this review so I could enjoy my honeymoon and newlywed life. I’m now sharing my experience after taking time to reflect. I booked Liz Lane Artistry for my wedding day hair and makeup, as well as services for my bridal party and family. While I was ultimately happy with how everything turned out visually, the experience leading up to and on the wedding day was frustrating due to ongoing communication issues and unmet expectations. From early on, communication was inconsistent. There were multiple times where I had to follow up more than once to receive a response, and sometimes replies would take weeks or even months. Because of this, I eventually asked that all communication be handled through email just to keep things clear and organized. At my trial, which turned out great, I asked directly if Liz would be present on my wedding day and was told that she would be. That was important to me when booking. However, on the day of my wedding, she did not attend, and I was not informed ahead of time that other artists would be sent instead. The two artists who arrived were kind and did a good job, but it was stressful going into such an important day expecting one person and working with completely different artists I had never met. They were working off limited reference material, and we had to pull together additional photos from my trial to help guide the look. There was also some confusion surrounding the trial payment. I paid for my trial at the time of the appointment, but later noticed it appeared to also be included in my contract total, which was never clearly explained. Overall, while the end result came together, the lack of clear communication, unexpected changes, and confusion throughout the process created unnecessary stress. I think better transparency and more consistent communication would make a big difference for future clients.

AMAZING WORK!!!!
I booked Alaina and her bridal team for my wedding and needless to say it was amazing!! Her team did such an incredible job on me and my bridesmaids. They made sure everything was exactly how I envisioned it and truly exceeded my expectations. From the very beginning, communication was smooth and stress-free. She was so easy to work with and made the whole process feel organized and effortless. On the day of, they arrived right on time and kept everything running perfectly on schedule, which made the morning so much more relaxing. They brought such a calm, fun, and positive energy that really set the tone for the entire day. I felt so confident and beautiful, and that’s something every bride deserves. My hair and makeup lasted all day and night, even through photos, dancing, and everything in between! I truly couldn’t recommend Alaina and her team enough to any bride looking for a professional, talented, and supportive bridal glam team. They played such a big part in making my day perfect!

Amazing Experience
I hired Alaina for my hair and make up for my wedding day. I chose to do a makeup trial prior to the big day and I highly suggest you do too. This gave me the opportunity to see what works and what doesn’t work for my skin and to decide on changes for the day of. After the trial I was able to tell Alaina exactly what I wanted on my big day. She listened to everything I said and truly understood the importance of listening. My makeup was FLAWLESS. It stayed on my face the entire day and looks amazing in pictures. I could not have been happier with the final outcome. My hair was also amazing! I would highly recommend Alaina for your special event. Not only was she professional, but she was so easy going, patient, and FUN! Her assistant Cassie killed it with the hair for my bridal party. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the entire experience! Thank you for making our experience so special!

Do not use Liz laine
I was really disappointed in my experience with Liz Laine. First, I was an out of town bride in New Orleans and she made me go to her salon 25 minutes outside New Orleans last minute for the trial when I specifically asked for her to come to my hotel because I didn’t have a car. This would have been ok if she told me before an hour before the appointment when I had already things planned for the day before my wedding. I couldn’t do a trial sooner because I didn’t live in New Orleans. Secondly, on my wedding day I received a different make up artist Alyssa. The make up looked completely different than my trial. In addition, Alyssa accidentally took my phone, the bride’s phone, and it caused so much stress and time so I could not take any photos before my wedding. Alaina did not tell me she found my phone I had to keep calling to finally receive confirmation my phone was in fact taken by Alyssa. It really ruined the morning and there was no apology. I had already paid but I would not recommend Liz laine because of how chaotic of an experience it was when it was a big day. I understand mistakes/changes happen, but you need to keep the bride updated and apologize. I’ve never heard of a make up artist taking a bride’s phone before ….

Regarding your trial, due to scheduling limitations, I personally stepped in to complete your appointment at my studio when your originally assigned artist, Alyssa, was unavailable. I’m glad we were able to still accommodate your trial prior to your wedding. For your wedding day, Alyssa who was always scheduled as your lead artist, completed your services. She took great care to ensure you were happy throughout the process, checking in multiple times, and we’re glad to hear everything was well-received at the time. We sincerely apologize for the phone mix-up. This was an honest mistake, as the phones were nearly identical. Once it was brought to our attention, Alyssa immediately returned the phone and apologized, and I personally stayed in communication with your party until it was safely back in your hands. Easy, breezy, Covergirl!
From the moment I met Lainey and her team at Liz Laine Artistry, I knew I was in good hands. She was so easy to communicate with and incredibly sweet and supportive throughout the entire process. Lainey made me feel completely at ease during my hair and makeup trial, and I was confident in her talent and professionalism.
