Long story short: Started DJing at 14 on turntables, Was trained as & was a wedding DJ in college, DJed a friend's wife's sister's wedding as a favor, vendor there mistook me for the biggest DJ company in Boise, thought, "There might be something to this DJ thing!..." And now we have JMan Productions -> That's me - I'm the JMan =D

25+ years of DJing experience, All my life been told I have a good ear, Piano lessons early on and then percussion & marching & concert band K-12, I love to stir the pot - DJing is a Healthy and Fun way to do this, I'm also a software engineer on the side so the DJ technology combined with innate + classical music training just makes sense to me, I've trained DJs, Have been featured at festivals for my EDM DJing, I have built festival stages as well which translates well to setting up weddings: The secret is a little talent, a little art, and lots of preparation & practice. 100+ weddings in, folks still love my work & I still love my DJ job ♥

    The best DJ around!

    I had the pleasure of dancing my rear off to JMAN’s musical stylings this past year in Frisco, CO. He had the entire venue up and on their feet, not one person seated the whole time. It seemed like a true show without taking away from the special night; the focus was still on the VIPs. I especially liked the curation of the music. It had something for everybody without being cookie-cutter pop stuff. Every song blended well into the next, the mixes were spot on, and there were absolutely no lulls in the set. I had the unique experience of seeing behind the scenes and getting to see all that goes in to JMAN shows— the top-of-the-line equipment, lights, mics, backup supplies (crucial). It seemed like every potential pitfall was accounted for which shows forethought and experience! Everyone there kept going on all night about how great the music and dancing was. It was a night I will never forget because it was spent with the people I cherish most, letting loose and having fun! I cannot recommend JMAN enough.

    The BEST DJ I've worked with in a long time!!

    JMAN Productions was an absolute pleasure to work with at a recent wedding! Jesse's communication was quick, clear and detailed during our correspondence and was easy for the couple as well. The quality of his work and overall professionalism was outstanding!! Jesse is clearly very knowledgeable in his craft from mixing music, to curating the best playlist for the couple. As a wedding planner, I've worked with many bands and DJs, and JMAN Productions is the best I've encountered in a long time. He provided high-quality equipment, played all the best music to keep the guests dancing, and took so much stress off myself and the couple on the wedding day. Planning and Customization. Weddings use to be the same old songs, and, many still are. But with the access to music, more music than ever, and algorithms to curate music preferences, weddings are so much more than what was played in the past or on the radio. With JMan Productions, you can play Anything you want, and, we plan together to make it happen =)
I handle all taxes. And fees, I bake all fees into the package pricing. Unless you ask for something specific after the fact, like a Dress Rehearsal DJ after we've signed a service agreement, or during the reception you ask me to stay an extra hour, unless you're asking for an extra service after service agreement signing, then what you see is the final total!

3 - 4 hours early.
Please see the travel packages as pricing varies; i.e. if you want me to drive 4 hours to Rexburg, then it's travel + two nights of room & board. You can probably get a DJ cheaper, but, I can't guarantee they won't mess it up. Travel cost varies.

I do! If you have special timing, like starting at 0:37 of a song, or skipping the intro, or want me to combine dances like a father daughter/step-father daughter dance to mix songs together in the middle, almost every wedding asks for something unique, and I'm happy to make it happen =)

Unless the Bride and Groom say NO, I take requests, certainly! Now, the requests are taken with discretion - if a little cousin asks for WAP, I'm going to ask them to ask the bride to approve it, but for the most part, friends, e.g. guests, often listen to similar music, so requests are usually pretty easy to navigate. If you give me a specific playlist, and need me to stick to it, I'll present the playlist to the requestor, and ask them what they'd like me, from the playlist, to play next or/and dedicate to them. It's your wedding, you're my boss, and while I try to make everyone happy, you, the Bride & Groom, are my absolute priority!
I have a formula, absolutely! I start with older music because the old folks leave first, so, play what they know & like first. Work my way up through the decades; 80s; 70s; 80s; 90s; 00s; to contemporary music. The cocktail/photo hour is usually a mix of upbeat 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and then dinner is often Rat Pack, Michael Buble, Patsy Cline, a little Johnny Cash, slow Elvis, classy dinner music. The reception is where we dive into the 00s, 10s, 2020s, requests, etc. And specific dances, the Cha Cha Slide, Cupid Shuffle, Anniversary dance, Bouquet toss, etc. BUT, You're the boss! It's _Your_ wedding! I'll play what You want me to play =)
Nah. You should hire a specific vendor for a specific service. A DJ can provide a photo booth, but, a DJ is not a photographer. Let me ask this, would you hire a photographer, who would also DJ your wedding? That said, I can recommend a photo booth, I can recommend a photographer, and many vendors =)
