About Brad Edwardson Music

Brad Edwardson

Singer and Guitarist

I've recently moved to the St. Augustine area after a decade of being a full-time musician in Charleston, SC. In Charleston, I loved being a part of weddings and events. A great way to meet and perform for people on their best days! Along with putting care into my musical performances, I also set a high standard of professionalism for myself, and surround myself with other musicians who take pride in clear communication, and punctuality.

For decades now I've been a student of folk music and many other genres. I love learning songs, and learning about songs. This gives me a repertoire that is unique and not the same thing you hear every day. I also love to learn song requests for couples. It's a great way to find out about new music and find what other people love. I have played many events as a solo finger-style guitar player, but I also have a wonderful network of friends and musicians that can help offer just about any sound you're looking for. From mandolins, violins, singers, to horn players, I'm prepared to make your event just how you want it to be!

    Talent and professionalism

Brad played the ceremony and reception at our wedding in Charleston. We were very impressed not only with his musicianship, but also his professionalism and friendliness. He was super easy to work with, always punctual, and really understood and delivered exactly what we were looking for. The music was beautiful and truly elevated the whole night. Highly recommend!

    Excellent Act

Brad is a very talented and professional multi-instrumentalist. He has a knack for reading the crowd and setting the perfect tone for our events. He always arrived early and came completely prepared with equipment and everything else needed for his performance. He has played for us a vast catalogue of songs, from classic to contemporary to original. Personally, Brad is a delight to know. I would hire him again any time.

    Incredible Musician - Hire Immediately

Brad was phenomenal to work with. He is extremely communicative, friendly, professional, and open to collaborating on special requests. I had him play at my wedding ceremony, and frankly, I wish i could get married several more times, so I could keep hiring him. My mom loves Elvis Presley, so Brad learned some Elvis songs to play as I walked down the aisle as a surprise to her. He attended every rehearsal and helped me keep the songs a secret until the big day. I was married 6 years ago, and my mom still talks about how happy that moment made her. Brad is over here making dreams come true. Professional, easy to work with, kind, and most importantly, an incredibly skilled musician. Don't pass him up!

Varies on the exact gig, but typically I will either wear a suit (maybe without the jacket in the middle of August!), or concert black attire. Never jeans, unless given specific permission, or if the gig is obviously blue-jean friendly (i.e. harvest festival, oyster roast, etc)
Yes! I love learning new songs, and arranging them to fit my style of guitar playing. I've worked up versions of everything from classical music, to grateful dead, to the Harry Potter theme! My Ceremony and Ceremony + Cocktail Hr packages include me learning up to four song requests. More can certainly be requested for an additional fee.
I have been a student of folk, bluegrass, country-blues, and Appalachian music for many years. This gives me a wide pool of songs to choose from that are outside of the normal wedding fare that you consistently hear. In addition to folk music, I've also studied music fundamentals and theory, which allow me to collaborate with a wide range of musicians to provide the style you're looking for.
Arriving one hour early is usually plenty of time for me to get set up, but I also understand that in some circumstances it is preferred for me to arrive earlier, or at a set specific time. I can certainly be flexible, and I always communicate with the planner in advance to make sure things run as smoothly as possible.
I'm happy to play a song request if I know it, but I do specialize in folk, bluegrass, and acoustic music, so I'm not very well equipped to fulfill a request for Journey or T. Swift. I'm better off with requests if they are given to me beforehand so I have time to be prepared, and always happy to put on a certain playlist over the PA during a break.
