Why you'll love this venue

  • Multiple event spaces
  • Private area for the wedding party
  • Classic, vintage atmosphere

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Venue feels large for events with small guest lists
  • Does not have a dance floor
I looked into countless wedding venues all across New England, but when my then-fiancé and I arrived at Scotland Fields for our venue tour, I immediately knew that it was the place we needed to host our wedding weekend. That gut feeling that this was somewhere really special never wore off, and I know that all of our guests felt that same feeling throughout the entire weekend. We also don't have enough positive things to say about the Scotland Fields team. My husband and I had a very specific vision about how we wanted our weekend to come together, and the team was nothing but accommodating to allow us to create the weekend that we envisioned. They were responsive when we had questions, helpful when we needed recommendations and guidance, and prompt to resolve anything that came up throughout the weekend (not that there was much of anything to resolve!!). We could not recommend this venue more highly, and will forever be grateful for the weekend that Scotland Fields allowed us to curate!

Our wedding at The Leavitt Theatre was beyond anything we could have dreamed… it was pure magic. This venue is astonishingly unique, dripping with history, romance, and charm. Every single guest told us they had never experienced a wedding like ours, and honestly, we believe it. From the moment we saw our names on the glowing marquee to the personalized movie posters in the frames, the night felt straight out of Hollywood. Being introduced by a film crafted by my brother-in-law and projected on the big screen was surreal!! Truly a moment we and our guests will never forget. Pair that with the champagne tower, endless popcorn, and the sparkle of bubbly all night long, and the whole evening had this old-Hollywood glamour that made it feel larger than life. And then there was the food- WOW. No other words other than absolutely extraordinary. The chef has an unmatched gift for flavor and presentation, and our guests could not stop raving. It was the perfect way to give everyone (most of whom had traveled far) a true taste of Maine. The espresso martinis? Hands down the best we’ve ever had. People are still talking about them! This venue is also walking distance to a few fun spots so there are options for after parties! But what truly set The Leavitt apart was the heart behind it all. Nell, the coordinator, was an absolute treasure. She video chatted with us countless times, answered every question, and worked tirelessly to make sure everything not only fit within our budget but exceeded our expectations. Her dedication made us feel supported every step of the way. We were also so impressed by the Leavitts owner, Max. His family has owned this wonderful place for generations and we hope we can return for a movie every year for our anniversary! This wasn’t just a wedding venue… it was an experience. It was cinematic, romantic, and unforgettable in every single way. Truly the best night of our lives, and we will be forever grateful to The Leavitt Theatre for making it happen. If you want your wedding to be unlike anything else, stop searching because this is the place.

If you're considering Wentworth by the Sea hotel for your wedding venue - just do it! They truly went above and beyond and blew us out of the water. We went with the Little Harbor Package in the Grand Ballroom - we were treated like royalty. Any issue we may have come across (few if not any at all!) it was quickly settled with zero stress. If you're looking for a one stop shop for everything wedding - they supply an excellent list of vendors, everything is on site, champagne around every corner, and talk about luxurious and beautiful! Kate, Catherine, and the entire Wentworth staff were extremely attentive, in person and via email - they were just incredible and I couldn't speak more highly about their professionalism. Our wedding guests are still complimenting Wentworth by the Sea - especially the food! Food is something not many people expect to be blown away by at a wedding - but boy they didn't disappoint! Some guests said it was the best filet they had EVER had!!! All of the food - appetizers, salads, entrees, dessert - everything was mouthwatering and buzzworthy. Again, if you're considering booking Wentworth by the Sea Hotel - this is your sign to book! I can't say enough wonderful things about all the people involved and the property itself with all of its amenities! I am beyond happy with our choice to spend the best day of our lives with Wentworth! Meredith & Jonah 3 6/21/25
