Built in 1925 as a single-screen silent film theatre, this historic auditorium has nearly 100 years of history in its bones. The space offers clients a grand "main stage" featuring a 30ft movie screen, surround sound & light show capabilities. There's vintage auditorium seats for 400 people, and a renovated upper lounge with mixed seating & cozy speakeasy-style bar for more intimate groups.

The Clayton Room

Gatsby glam meets New England charm in this sleek & inviting cocktail bar

The Clayton Room offers art-deco details & incredible natural light that creates a truly unique and beautiful atmosphere. A mix of small low & high-top tables skirt the room's perimeter, and a 12 stool copper-topped bar is the focal point of the space. Access to two large refurbished picnic tables nestled just outside the Clayton Room are included in the room's rental, which extends the available space and seated capacity.

    Our wedding at The Leavitt Theatre was beyond anything we could have dreamed… it was pure magic. This venue is astonishingly unique, dripping with history, romance, and charm. Every single guest told us they had never experienced a wedding like ours, and honestly, we believe it. From the moment we saw our names on the glowing marquee to the personalized movie posters in the frames, the night felt straight out of Hollywood. Being introduced by a film crafted by my brother-in-law and projected on the big screen was surreal!! Truly a moment we and our guests will never forget. Pair that with the champagne tower, endless popcorn, and the sparkle of bubbly all night long, and the whole evening had this old-Hollywood glamour that made it feel larger than life. And then there was the food- WOW. No other words other than absolutely extraordinary. The chef has an unmatched gift for flavor and presentation, and our guests could not stop raving. It was the perfect way to give everyone (most of whom had traveled far) a true taste of Maine. The espresso martinis? Hands down the best we’ve ever had. People are still talking about them! This venue is also walking distance to a few fun spots so there are options for after parties! But what truly set The Leavitt apart was the heart behind it all. Nell, the coordinator, was an absolute treasure. She video chatted with us countless times, answered every question, and worked tirelessly to make sure everything not only fit within our budget but exceeded our expectations. Her dedication made us feel supported every step of the way. We were also so impressed by the Leavitts owner, Max. His family has owned this wonderful place for generations and we hope we can return for a movie every year for our anniversary! This wasn’t just a wedding venue… it was an experience. It was cinematic, romantic, and unforgettable in every single way. Truly the best night of our lives, and we will be forever grateful to The Leavitt Theatre for making it happen. If you want your wedding to be unlike anything else, stop searching because this is the place.

    The Leavitt Theatre was the perfect venue for our wedding after party. From the very first interaction, their communication was quick, easy, and incredibly helpful as we planned all the details. On the day of, the unique, welcoming, and fun atmosphere they created was exactly what we were looking for - the perfect after party vibe that kept the celebration going well into the night. With plenty of space for our guests to keep dancing or lounge and chat, we couldn't have been happier with our experience at The Leavitt Theatre. Highly recommend this venue for any couple looking to host an unforgettable wedding or after party!

    FULL DISCLOSURE- I am actually the Leavitt's Events Coordinator, however this season I simultaneously became a Leavitt Bride. I was genuinely excited to host my wedding at the theatre, but admittedly I also imagined it would give me some helpful insight for work- letting me know where points for improvement were in both the space and the process. What I found out was pleasantly affirming-- we truly had AN INCREDIBLE wedding at The Leavitt. Our ceremony was down the road on Ogunquit Beach, and we paraded up to the theatre like New Orleans met New England! Our guests were greeted with an oyster bar & bubbly and the night went off without a hitch from there. Live music was a big priority for us, and we had a 5-piece band set up on the main stage. After we had our first dance & speeches up there, the space transformed! With the help of professional sound & lighting technicians, our reception felt like a tried and true concert. People are still talking about the ambiance and vibe to this day. The vision for our wedding was to throw a giant party for the people in our lives who helped us get to where we are today. We wanted a space where people could eat, drink, dance & repeat all night. We did not want to get weighed down in other details that were less important to us. I think The Leavitt perfectly mirrored & supported our vision and priorities, and we now have a wedding we TRULY loved as a lifelong memory. Proud to be a part of The Leavitt's wedding program, and very grateful that it's my own family's story, too.

    We had our wedding reception at the Leavitt earlier this month and it was better than we dreamed it would be! Throughout the whole process, Nell was very hands-on which was super helpful as we were planning the wedding ourselves. All of the details like the marquee, the garden, and the string lights, all came together to be so magical. The food was incredible, the bar was amazing and the staff were so attentive. You definitely get your money's worth at this venue and I definitely would come back just as a customer for the great vibes!
