“I first came across Fairview Green River on Zola and reached out for pricing. Based on the initial information, I assumed it would be outside of our budget. I even scheduled a tour but nearly canceled because I didn’t want to spend another Saturday touring a venue my fiancé and I felt we couldn’t afford. When I contacted them to cancel, they encouraged me to keep the appointment—and I’m so glad I did. At the time, we didn’t have a wedding date, and Fairview happened to be offering a discounted rate for a Saturday wedding along with several perks we couldn’t pass up. That completely changed our minds. We attended one of their fairs to try the food, and honestly, I had mixed feelings at first. By that point, we were already committed to the venue, so I was hoping for the best. I shared my concerns with Sandra, who was our main contact throughout the process. She walked me through other menu options and reassured me that we would love the food—and she was absolutely right. The vendors they work with were wonderful. Tasteful Cakes, Ivy & Co, and The Southern California Wedding Guys were all responsive, professional, and easy to work with. Pricing for add-ons was also very reasonable compared to vendors I had researched on my own. Day of the wedding: Our day-of coordinator, Darian, was amazing. She stayed calm, organized, and collected while making sure the entire wedding party had everything they needed. Sandra also checked in on me throughout the day, which I really appreciated. During cocktail hour, the Fairview team had drinks and snacks set aside for us so we could enjoy some time and take our sunset photos. When we returned for our grand entrance, our dinner and drinks were already waiting for us at our table—such a thoughtful touch. We truly had the best night ever surrounded by our favorite people. And the food? AMAZING. We chose the American package with prime rib and a carving station. They also offered Italian and Mexican options, but the carving station sealed the deal for us. The only downside was that we only had access to the venue two hours before the wedding. A third hour would have been ideal. While I could have paid for the extra hour, I do feel this should be included. For reference, we chose the all-inclusive Elite package. A few helpful notes for anyone considering it: Flowers are partially included: table centerpieces and the ceremony arch are covered, but bouquets and boutonnieres are not. We purchased those separately, and their pricing was very fair—much more affordable than other florists. The DJ package includes the DJ only. Lighting, fog, and sparklers are upgrades. We chose to upgrade and were very happy we did. There are no additional cake fees, and the cake options were great. Our friends and family are still raving about the food, cake, DJ, and overall experience. We are so happy we chose Fairview Green River and would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone looking to host an event.”

“From the moment we started planning our wedding, the San Diego Zoo & Safari Park team was there for every decision we made. They listened to what we wanted and made it happen, going above and beyond to bring our vision to life. Choosing the Sambutan Longhouse at Tiger Trail was absolutely perfect, especially since we're passionate about big cats. Traveling through the mystical bamboo passage into this tranquil forest setting, with stunning floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Sumatran tigers, created an immersive, wild backdrop unlike anything else. It felt like the entire park and its majestic animals was celebrating with us. The staff were absolute professionals and true partners every step of the way. Their vendor partners are top-notch and worked seamlessly together to create something truly special. The food was fantastic fresh, flavorful, and far beyond what we expected with every detail from setup to the final moments feeling intentional and thoughtful. We incorporated a special animal ambassador encounter that left our guests (especially the kids) completely enchanted, all while enjoying the open-air ambiance, lush greenery, and the magic of the tigers nearby. What made the day truly extraordinary was how deeply personal and wild it felt. The park's commitment to conservation added such meaningful depth to our celebration knowing that our wedding supported incredible wildlife efforts around the world. As a bonus, we received a complimentary one-year annual pass for the two of us, which we've already used multiple times to revisit 'our spot' and relive the memories. If you're looking for a wedding venue that combines romance, adventure, and pure wonder, look no further. The San Diego Safari Park and especially the Tiger House isn't just a backdrop, it's an experience that weaves nature, love, and unforgettable moments into one perfect day. Our guests are still talking about it months later, and we couldn't imagine saying 'I do' anywhere else. We left with memories we'll treasure forever, and we can't recommend them enough for couples looking for an unforgettable wedding experience. 10/10 — the wildest and most beautiful day of our lives!”

“A week before our wedding, we found out our event coordinator at the hotel we had worked with for a year was no longer there. When we arrived, the support team had about 4 days to learn about everything we had in place and take a years worth of planning and make it happen. I am so grateful to say that team did it! They whipped those four days into shape and created a beautiful wedding for us. Huge shout out to Maria and Liz who worked with our week of coordinators to make sure everything was perfect. There’s definitely some room for improvement in regards to staffing properly but overall we had a beautiful service and a fantastic reception and the staff at the saguaro did an amazing job! Also, there’s not a lot of venues where you can say the food at your wedding was fantastic and they did such a great job. They have a fantastic kitchen at the Saguaro. The Saguaro is not in any way a perfect place, but it is a place you choose because of the vibes and the warm hospitality of the team. We look forward to always visiting the Saguaro every time we come to Palm Springs and now we have a very special occasion we shared there to also remember it by. Thank you!”

“I’ve spent a lot of my life looking at structures and solutions, but what happened at Jackalope Ranch for our wedding wasn't about the architecture of a building—it was about the architecture of a soul-level experience. We came into this day looking for something authentic and grounded, and what we found was a crew that didn't just "work" an event; they cared for us like family. Amidst record, unseasonably hot weather that could have easily derailed the outdoor spirit of the day, the staff ensured every moment felt effortless. Erinmary and Destiny were quiet anchors. We never had to look for them; they were simply there, anticipating needs before they were even spoken. Lillian and Gilbert are names we will carry with us for the way they treated us - we will say hi from now on when we see them. My friends and family haven't stopped talking about the food—several people told me it was the best they’ve ever had at any wedding, period. Even as someone who isn’t a drinker, I heard nothing but praise for the bartenders and the spirit they brought to the house. There is a weight to a day like this, a vulnerability in standing before those you love. Jackalope Ranch gave us the room to breathe. Whether it was the privacy of the events room to cool off, the stunning backdrop for our first look, helping to arrange the seating and tables or the photo shoot at the bar, they gave us the run of the place with our best interests at heart. We felt like celebrities, but more importantly, we felt seen and supported. I suggested they could say they "put the elope in Jackalope," but for us, they put the heart in it. It was flawless, honest, and truly unforgettable.”

Morada Joshua Tree
Rating: 5.0 (8 reviews)
Joshua Tree, CA
  • Up to 150 guests
  • Raw space
  • Outdoor
  • Starts at $5,000

Morada is an open-air wedding venue located in Joshua Tree, California. With 350 acres of untouched Mojave Desert, the estate offers soon-to-be-weds a chance to retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. Any couple’s romantic event will be surrounded by picturesque mountain ranges and romantic sunsets during the evening, providing a stunning, photo-ready backdrop.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Has a glamorous vibe
  • Has a dance floor to dance the night away
  • Lush gardens

Venue considerations

  • Does not provide event staff
  • No free parking
  • Couple must handle cleanup and setup
“The Morada was exactly what we were looking for in a venue. As soon as we pulled up we knew it was the right place. The accommodations were sparkling clean, comfortable, and peaceful. The kitchen in the main house is thoughtfully and thoroughly stocked, which made our stay even more homey. It's not cold and thoughtless like a lot of AirBnb's these days— it feels like someone's treasured home that's so well cared for and cozy. There was a lack of closet space which made it a little tricky given we had a lot of formal wear to hang, but we made it work. The casita is also well-equipped and thoughtfully designed. The owners allowed us to customize the space a bit to our liking, and the extra house allowed us some much-needed privacy during our wedding weekend. The outdoors are breathtaking and the big, open sky is stunning. The sunsets and stars are like no other— it feels like you have the desert to yourself. We enjoyed short hikes on the property, and there is plenty of outdoor seating to rest and relax in the shade. The bonfires at night were a great addition when it got a bit chilly and for some added romantic atmosphere. Our guests raved about how beautiful everything was— and while perfection wasn't our goal, we couldn't have asked for a more perfect celebration of our love. I'd be remiss to not mention Pablo and Devon specifically, who were incredibly helpful throughout the process, but especially in the weeks and days leading up to the event. Devon helped us navigate any logistical questions or challenges, including everything from a significant amount of package deliveries to requests for extra clothes hangers. We encountered an unprecedented rainstorm the day after our event, and Pablo helped us move our rentals under the porch to avoid any damage fees. Every time we looked up from our to-do list, Pablo and Devon were busy getting the grounds ready for us while simultaneously somehow staying out of the way of the main action. They were like our fairy godparents. I cannot thank them enough for their labor which contributed greatly to everything running smoothly. I highly recommend using a day-of planner or coordinator to help navigate the vendors— our amazing planner, Yu and Us, stepped in to do this and it helped us focus on other details while the groundwork of the party was laid out. We mostly used vendors recommended by the venue as it is a unique location that requires some extra logistics. We held 3 events— a welcome dinner & Paebaek (Korean tea ceremony), the wedding, and a brunch— all outside, and all special in their own ways. We also stayed an extra night, Wednesday through Monday, which I can't recommend enough so you can soak in the beauty of the space and the desert as long as possible. As a lesbian interracial couple, we never received even the slightest hint of judgement or negativity from anyone we interacted with. We're grateful to have experienced a space that felt safe for queer people, both for ourselves and our guests. There wasn't a moment where we didn't feel welcome and celebrated. Thank you to the Morada team for an unforgettable week!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a more magical wedding venue! The beautiful desert landscape created a stunning backdrop for every moment—from our ceremony to golden hour photos. The natural beauty of the surroundings truly made our day feel unforgettable. The lodging accommodations were beyond amazing—comfortable, stylish, and perfect for our family and friends to relax and celebrate with us. Every detail was thoughtfully done, and it felt like a retreat in the middle of paradise. What truly set this place apart, though, was the staff. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and that we felt supported every step of the way. Their warmth and professionalism made all the difference. Gwen, Eric and Reno (and the rest of the staff), from the bottom of our hearts thank you. “We just had our wedding at The Homestead and couldn’t have been happier! It was the wedding day of our dreams. Paula: she was so on top of everything at the rehearsal and on the day of, my family and bridal party really appreciated her thoroughness. She also was so accommodating to any requests we wanted for our wedding day! She and her workers spent so much time setting up our seating chart in such a beautiful way I would have never thought of. We had so many additional things planned for our wedding but she and her team made it all happen and run smoothly too! She even decked out our cake with our personal decorations using her creative judgement and it looked so cute. Email correspondences took some time to get replies, but texts and phone calls were promptly answered! DJ Milo: was a great MC and DJ. I was a little worried he wouldn’t play the songs we requested, as friends had that issue with different djs at their weddings, but every song was one we had asked for! Which really helped create the vibe we were looking for on our wedding day. He also flawlessly looped songs when some activities ran a bit too long. Haverland catering: the food was delicious and the portions were HUGE! I didn’t hear any complaints about being hungry. Desserts: pie and cake were both included in the package! And we had so much left over which was great because I wasn’t really able to eat much on the actual wedding day. They also let us bring macarons for an extra dessert table, and set it all up for us! Photobooth and late night treat: the guests always had something to do! Even if they weren’t interested in the dance floor. There was also areas to sit and talk peacefully away from the music. Bride whisperer: I even forgot about this until the day of the wedding! But I had an attendant with me the whole time to hold onto my bouquet when needed, get me water or drinks or food, and help me with my 3 costume changes. Dora: was so helpful in the girls cottage in the morning! Checking up on us every 15 minutes. And when the flower girl petals did not match the color scheme of the event, she and Paula went to get different petals. They really cared about all the little details! Florals: the flowers and table settings were beautiful, although not exactly what I was expecting. We had discussed moss for the tables but did not end up having it on the day of. Not a big deal, and the guests all thought the florals were beautiful. Bar Tender: was amazing! This venue is so good because it is BYOB. We were able to have 3 signature cocktails and she helped me to create the recipes and buy the proper amounts of ingredients. I was texting her back and forth making changes and tweaking the recipes until it was just right! She was always very responsive. The guests loved the drinks! The venue: speaks for itself, it is so beautiful! Our guests did not understand why we were getting married in Oak Glen, but once they were there they all understood. Also, when we booked the venue I was not thinking of this but it is ADA accessible. I ended up getting injured and needing knee surgery before the wedding so having an accessible venue was a great plus!”
