Emma Creek Barn
Rating: 5.0 (3 reviews)
Hesston, KS
  • Venue
  • Up to 200 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $1,750

Our venue offers an all wood Amish barn, tucked back in the trees, next to Emma creek. The numerous mature trees, multiple flower beds and 2 fire pits offer a wonderful outdoor atmosphere! The barn features a kitchen, a bar, men’s and women’s restrooms, a loft, a covered deck and a large area for dining and dancing. The barn can hold up to 200 people and has the option for an indoor ceremony, should the need arise. The outdoor space features a limestone stage for a ceremony, plenty of space for yard games, an outdoor dinner, outdoor dancing or hanging out by the fire pits. The outdoor party lighting provides a great atmosphere after dark. We have two parking areas, 1 large lot for guests and a smaller area for the wedding party and handicap parking. Included in all packages: Chairs and tables for 200 people, bar stools, cocktail tables, wooden spools, arbors and use of the fire pits. We recently added a beautiful 3 bedroom log cabin available with our wedding packages!

Why you'll love this venue

  • Has a dance floor to dance the night away
  • Offers convenient lodging options
  • Bridal suite on site

Venue considerations

  • No all-inclusive dining options
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • No free parking
Emma Creek Barn was extremely, extremely on it! This gorgeous venue was the perfect venue for nearly 200 ppl attending my wedding not to mention the family! This couple-run business was on top of things with preparation, day-of series of events, and they were very reasonable with extra costs! The Hastings are generous and kind people to work with and they were very responsive to texts and calls leading up to the wedding, which was such a relief. Their payment plan is done by paper contract only, which maybe the only thing I would've changed, but honestly, it helped both parties (my parents and the managers) clearly see what we were requesting from this venue! We did our own sound and were lucky to have incredible help from our friends, and they were so chill and flexible with all of that! Josh and Natasha were so good about lighting, helping with setup, and they even let us bring out a baby grand (we did all the moving)! They offer drape-hanging from the rafters, which is an added fee, but the barn is spacious enough and has that perfect rustic feel that we didn't feel the need for the extra accessories! The inside of the barn is a little tight fitting for 200 guests, so I would recommend doing seating in and outdoors, but its perfect for any number under that! The grass and the stage were the perfect setup in our early-August wedding! They had fans for the inside or wherever we wanted them. My favorite part was having a big cabin less than two miles away from the venue where my bridesmaids and I could spend the night before and have space to get ready. Just what I needed as a stressed out bride. It's a two minute country drive from the venue, and that just what i needed The spacious rooms of this beautiful wood cabin makes for a perfect spot for any pre-celebrations as well as for your wedding night! Another highlight that I didn't expect was all of the photo spots! That made the memories so special!!! Overall, if I could give them a 10 out of 5, I would! Have your wedding at Emma Creek Barn!

The flowers from Something Borrowed Blooms were, above all, gorgeous. They also cost a fraction of getting real flowers from a florist. (As in, several thousands of dollars less for something equally beautiful.) The flowers got many compliments and everyone was shocked they weren't real! The centerpiece and bouquets in the attached photos are from the Wren collection. The customer service at Something Borrowed Blooms is also highly responsive and helpful. Getting your wedding flowers from Something Borrowed Blooms is one of the best planning decisions you'll make: the blooms are high quality and easy to use, plus MUCH friendlier for your wallet and the environment.

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers
Rating: 4.9 (78 reviews)
  • Florist
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves Talmage, KS

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Awarded Best of Zola
We had a tropical themed wedding and used Flower Moxie for tropical flowers and greenery: bridal bouquet, bridesmaid bouquets, ceremony arch flowers. I wish there were more tropical related videos on their DIY Academy, but I did love working with my assigned florist and the help desk was quick in their response. For those who are getting married at the same location that the flowers are being delivered (my parents' home), I wish we would have done all of the floral arrangements the day before instead of 2 days before. And our spray roses came a day later and were a little sad looking. But overall, we were very happy with the service and highly recommend to others!

Well well well....where do I even begin Back in 2024, I answer to an inquiry from a bride who was looking for a DJ, because hers was not falling through properly. Ashley found me less than 50 hours before her wedding. I lived In the general area, so her wedding wasn't too far from me. In the midst of wedding planning, Ashley and her soon-to-be husband were also handling family tragedies in the background. As a vendor myself who has lost her parent, I knew exactly how she felt. We quickly transitioned into how we can make their Day a perfect one, Despite everything going on in the background. I wanted to keep my bride happy and healthy as much as possible, and to keep her family in mind. Ashley was sweet, organized, and strong no matter the stress she faced. After getting to know Ashley more, We quickly became buddies over 2025! With her being a photographer, and me being a DJ, we had ended up crossing paths several times throughout 2025 and now into 2026, as partners. Her and I work hand in hand together to make sure that all weddings run smoothly, That our couple stays happy, And sometimes we can easily switch rolls of good cop, bad cop when we need to For crowd control! She is my right hand gal, And I can't wait to see what the future holds for both of us as vendors, and as friends!

These recollections are your forever keepsakes, a chapter of your life's story. Every image accounts for those who were by your side, delighted for you, and the next step in your journey. I appreciate you for giving me a few moments of your time.t

My husband and I were from out of town and hired Sean to photograph us at a Christmas gala at the place we got married. He was accommodating to last minute changes to make the most of the session and even went above and beyond to make it happen. Upon first impression, he was upbeat and had a vision. We were outside in sub 30 degree weather with fading evening light as well as low light inside a building and he was up for the challenge. We ended up with beautiful images in less than ideal conditions and that is what makes a great photographer. Sean has a sense of humor and an eye for that perfect photograph. He was fun to work with and his heart for people and creativity shows through. Thank you Sean for capturing this time in our lives.

I’ve always been someone who loves to travel, and who loves to meet new people, no matter how awkward, how quiet, loud, or shy you are - I’d love to meet you! Coffee is a great way to spend time with me outside of your session. Every good conversation has most likely had coffee in the middle of it somewhere. I’m also huge baseball fan- it has been a part of my life for a very long time.

Edward Dane Photography was the perfect choice for our wedding photographer. From the very beginning, they were kind, fast, helpful, and patient in their communication with us. Their team, led by Ty, was incredibly personable, attentive, and easygoing, providing excellent quality work. On the day of our wedding, they were able to go with the flow and change plans on the fly, expertly directing us when we didn't know what we were doing. Ty's awesome personality fit so well with us, and the photos they captured were absolutely beautiful. We couldn't be happier with our decision to work with Edward Dane Photography and highly recommend them to any couple planning their wedding.

Hi, I’m Isaac. In my world, light is everything. The cool ambient hues at dawn, hinting at what the day may bring. Golden sun rays catching particles through a tree as friends gathers to celebrate. A Cotton candy sunset peppered by patio string-lights as a DJ plays my favorite song. We all have timeless memories logged in our minds. For me, they are based in a language of light. As a wedding photographer, this deep connection to special lighting helps me produce dynamic visual stories of romance, personality and beauty.

We loved Isaac and his wife, Jing, who photographed our wedding earlier this month. Isaac was super calm and collected and on top of everything. His photography style was perfect for us. He already delivered about half of our retouched photos a week after the wedding which was insane and I love every single one. He was flexible with the 5 flower girls we had in and out of pictures and the multiple areas on our venue property. Overall an amazing experience and I recommend his work to anyone and everyone looking. He was very considerate when I first reached out about his work and wanted to use him and was very mindful of his travel fees to fit in our budget.

5 Thousand Frames Films provided us with the best videography service we could have asked for on our wedding day. Their communication style was fantastic - they didn't overwhelm us with too many questions, and instead proposed perfect ideas to capture all the special moments. The quality of their work is unmatched, a solid 100 out of 5! They created an incredible same-day-edit video that was shown at the end of our wedding, and the quality, plot, music, and framing were all flawless. While I was getting ready, the videographer even took it upon himself to shoot all the necessary footage of the background details. I highly recommend 5 Thousand Frames Films - you're guaranteed to have the best experience, as their professionalism and quality of work is simply outstanding.
