The Best Southwestern Food Wedding Catering in Sunland, CA

“I found Fusion Events LA while searching for wedding vendors because I wanted catering that our guests would actually remember—not just typical wedding food. After reading so many great reviews, I called Felicia, and from our first conversation I knew I wanted to work with her. She was so welcoming, organized, and genuinely cared about bringing our vision to life. When our original venue fell through, Felicia stepped in with her day-of coordination services, and I couldn’t be more grateful. On our wedding day, everything ran so smoothly. I DIY’d a lot of our décor, and her team set everything up beautifully, exactly how I had envisioned it. The food was absolutely phenomenal, and our guests are still talking about it! From catering to coordination, bartending, servers, and décor setup, Fusion Events LA truly does it all. I can’t thank Felicia and her team enough for making our wedding day everything we dreamed of. I highly recommend them!”

The Kookery LLC

Rating: 4.8 (17 reviews)

Starts at $2,500
Serves Sunland, CA

Founded by Food Network winning Chef Shieya, The Kookery is a craft catering company focused on making your dream wedding experience a reality. We specialize in curating menus as unique as you! We collaborate with you and your vendors for a perfect experience down to the smallest details.

“How can I even begin to describe the greatness that is Chef Shieya and the Kookery and how wonderful she made our wedding?! It started off with planning mode. With an American and a Brazilian getting married, we wanted to have a dish from each culture to make it special for our guests. With a sea bass dish and the steak picanha, everyone could choose. The sous vide steak was so tender, cooked to perfection, the color on it so beautiful, it was the winner. We had a few vegans at the party, and she took care of them ahead of time and knew exactly where they were sitting and who they were. And as always, Chef wanted to kick it up a notch, so she got some black truffles to really make the dishes pop. The full course meal from the watermelon salad to squid ink pasta to the main courses to the wedding cake she made herself was decadent, super tasty, and plated like a million dollars. Aside from the food being perfect, Chef Shieya and the Kookery team delivered a professional experience like no other. From setup to breakdown, they had it handled to where we didn't have to worry at all. The team arrived early in the morning. We went up to go get ready and change for the wedding party, and by the time we came back down they were already completely set up and serving guests. There are so many attention to detail things we didn't even think of, nor did we have to because they already knew what we needed, even though we didn't. So many touches that just made everything run so smoothly. We didn't have to do a thing, and all the guests were taken care of. People still talk about how good our wedding reception food was, saying it was the best they've ever had, better than the regular boring standard food at other weddings. Our special day was made so much more magical because of Shieya and her team. She does everything only to perfection, and even goes a step further to make it personal and unforgettable. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

“Since our venue did not have a preferred vendor list or a built-in catering team, we were given maximum flexibility (which is also intimidating, as the choice and freedom can be a bit overwhelming). To help narrow things down, our planner prompted us to choose a single type of cuisine that we like, and work from there. We both love New Orleans / Cajun cuisine, so enter My House. From their first proposal, we were all in. It featured childhood favorites like fried catfish, and out-of-the-ordinary passed appetizers like mini chicken & waffles. Our first calls with them were relaxed, collaborative and informative. Our first tasting, while kinda pricey (isn't everything?), went really well - and gave us a chance to provide more feedback and tweaks, which were promptly applied to later estimates and menus. As our planning evolved, it was a little tough to try to keep the budget in check, and it meant making some tough calls to cut costs (for instance - jettisoning late night bites), My House was always willing to work with both us and our planner on finding financial solutions - but there were a few moments where we felt like we didn't know what to expect, and stressed out a bit when we saw the latest numbers. I suppose this is part of the process for lots of couples. I never lost faith that they'd turn it out on the big day, and I'm happy to share that they did just that. They created an incredibly tasteful display for our buffet, which struck a balance between rustic and elegant. The staff was helpful, efficient, and professional - but I want to give special highlight to Simone. Simone was personable, diligent and intuitive. She knows exactly what she's doing, any couple would be very lucky to have her running any aspect of their event - because she does it with aplomb. The food was absolutely delicious. Big, bold flavors - zesty, crunchy, creamy, smoky, cheesy, sweet and spicy and everything in between . We loved hosting such a delectable menu that departed from the traditional wedding fare, but stayed true to the cuisine of New Orleans and the tastes of Southern comfort. So, so, so, so good!”

“My husband and I have hired chef David a couple times before our wedding ceremony, July 2nd, 2022. We knew we wanted specialty foods and great food and we knew David and Molly would deliver, no questions asked! The food was a variety of appetizers and desserts, and the team knocked it our of the park! The celebration would not have been so wonderful without all the delicious foods they made for us, crispy Brussels sprout boats, mini quiche, homemade meatballs, mini sausage rolls, and my favorite, the Moroccan lamb burgers!!!!!! And not to mention the desserts, fairy cakes, profiteroles, yummy!!!! And so much more!!!! Their hard work, dedication, efficiency and a great eye for details... we will definitely hire them again and again, worth every penny!!!! We love you David and Molly and thank you for being apart of our special day!!!!!”

Summit Event Catering

“We got married in Long Beach, CA on 10/12/24 and all of our guests said Summit's food was THE BEST they had ever been served at wedding! I cannot recommend Summit Event Catering more! Pamela Aki especially was fantastic to work with. We chose the plated option for a guest count of just under 160 guests. We found the prices to be reasonable as compared to other vendors, and the quality of the menu, ingredients, and overall taste to be outstanding! Additionally, Summit allowed us to make several reasonable alterations to our chosen package, which we were really grateful for, due to several guest allergies, etc! Pam was incredibly communicative throughout our entire working relationship and we are so grateful. She made the process so easy! On our wedding day, everything went smoothly and the Summit staff was fantastic. We look back at the catering portion of our wedding with fond memories. Thank you Summit & Pam!”

“Above All Catering was amazing in making our wedding special, and a large part of this was thanks to Alicia. She was communicative and responsive throughout our entire planning process. The whole team was kind in taking time to answer any of our questions at any time. The tasting experience was very pleasant, we loved all the food (they let us take the rest home). On the day of, their service was professional and smooth, their team did an amazing job leading the buffet station. Our guests made several comments throughout the night about how much they enjoyed the mushroom fajitas, they were so tasty! We also specially requested horchata and agua de jamaica which were wonderful beverage additions loved by many of our guests. Above All Catering was recommended as a preferred vendor by our venue and remained the only catering option that was explicitly accommodating of a fully vegetarian/vegan menu as well as many dietary restrictions for our guests (gluten free and nut free options) which was extremely important to us. We're grateful for their part in our special day!”

“Chef Cooper and his team are an amazing group of people. I did not have to worry about a single thing in regards to food for my wedding reception. My reception was only 40ppl so, if you are having a small wedding reception, definitely look into Krafted Culture to cater it. I looked into other caterers before I came across Krafted Culture but their minimum to cater started at 60ppl and up. Communication was excellent through the entire process and customizing menu to accommodate allergies and vegan guests was not an issue. Everyone loved the food, especially the tri-tip! What was also convenient is that they also rent out tables, chairs, and table linens. Highly recommend!”

Chef Anna Masteller

“We called Chef Anna “the Zen Chef” because she radiated calm and warmth every time she cooked or dropped off meals. On our wedding day, she was the one vendor who was fully calm, centered, and confident, an incredibly grounding presence for everyone. We had six meals with her, from the welcome dinner to brunches, reception, and an unforgettable late-night spread. She handled everything; shopping, cooking, cleanup and made us feel deeply cared for as a family during our long wedding weekend on Figure Eight Island, NC. Aside from cooking, which she obviously loves, she said her favorite part of her business is helping people make the most of their time together, and that was absolutely true for us. It felt like we bought the gift of time, which is priceless. And we can’t stop talking about the food. Literally better than any restaurant, truly. As a group of well-traveled foodies, that says a lot. Thank you, Chef Anna, for becoming one of our favorite core memories. We’ve already booked her for our anniversary trip to Wrightsville Beach next year.”

Star Valley Foods

“We had the absolute pleasure of having Star Valley Foods cater our 20th wedding anniversary celebration, and to say they exceeded our expectations would be an understatement. From start to finish, everything was flawless. The food was not only superb in taste but also presented so beautifully that our guests have not stopped talking about the dishes, the attention to detail, and the way every plate felt like an experience itself. They took time to understand our vision and executed it with perfection. The night began with appetizers that included lemon-poached shrimp that were perfectly tender, light, and bursting with citrusy flavor. The stuffed mushrooms with pecorino and panko gave them a savory crunch that made them addictive, and the charcuterie skewers were colorful, delicious, and creative. But it didn't stop there. The Italian focus of the menu was nothing short of spectacular. The meatballs were unforgettable and seasoned in a way that had even the Italians in the room nodding with approval. Several guests commented that they were the best meatballs they'd ever tasted. The rigatoni with Bolognese sauce was rich, hearty and layered with authentic flavor, and the chicken cutlets with lemon and Parmesan were both stars of the evening-- so delicious that guests were going back for seconds (and thirds). To finish the night, dessert was a sweet surprise of tiramisu with whipped mascarpone and aginetti sprinkle cookies. Star Valley Foods delivered more than just a meal; they created an experience that elevated our celebration and left every one of our guests raving. Most importantly, the people behind this company are as professional as they are kind- genuinely sweet, attentive, and caring in a way that made us feel special and celebrated right alongside our guests.
