The Flower Dude
Rating: 5.0 (1 review)
South Portland, ME
  • Offer

I'm Don Clark. I run The Flower Dude, a studio wedding florist in Portland, Maine. Studio means no retail shop, and that's the point. Instead of a cooler full of roses that flew up from Miami last week, I work from three gardens in Cape Elizabeth and Kennebunk — so from June through late September, your flowers are cut the morning you get married. Cut, that morning. I arrange everything by hand, then deliver and set it up myself: bouquets, boutonnieres, arches, reception tables, all of it.

Don did an AMAZING job with our flowers for our wedding! He listened to all of our wants, needs, and inspirations, and brought our vision to life. We had a beautiful arch of greens for the ceremony with white flower accents, and calla lilies were peppered throughout the wedding and used for wedding party bouquets and boutonnieres. There is nothing Don and The Flower Spot can't do!! You'd be remiss if you didn't choose them for your special event.

It's hard to put into words how talented and wonderful Tess was to work with. When we first connected, I was immediately drawn to her vision, how collaborative it felt she was, and how she was willing to work with me on planning a less traditional wedding weekend. Aside from some very general direction, I really gave her creative freedom to do what she thought would be best, and then her first proposal exceeded anything I could've imagined so it was a no brainer to work with her. The year of working together was just as great as that first interaction—she is extremely organized and detailed, takes initiative to handle things that were able to be taken off of my plate, and is just clearly so passionate about what she does, and that is reflected in her work. During the wedding weekend, she and her team took on tasks that were outside of what they should've been handling, but did what they thought needed to be done to make my life easier and to make the vision come to life. I was so grateful to have her around for the weekend. But above all of that, the flowers were absolutely incredible. I can't tell you the number of people—both who were at the wedding and who weren't even there—that approached me or reached out to me to tell me they were the most gorgeous flowers that they had ever seen. There wasn't a single person who wasn't blown away by them, my husband and I included!! Long story short.. work with Tess. You won't be disappointed.

  • Serves South Portland, ME

Petals Flower Farm is a small flower farm that grows, harvests, and curates flowers for you. Our passion for growing flowers is why we love showing off these blooms on your special day. Our designers know the seasons and the flowers and can complement each piece uniquely. Our 'fresh from the garden' floral designs will complement your day perfectly.

From my first call with Brooke she was kind, easy-going and so professional. Choosing the amount of flowers seemed like such an overwhelming task but she offered excellent guidance. She brought my vision to life, creating stunning, artistic floral designs that exceeded our expectations. My bridal bouquet was the prettiest I've ever seen, running laps around all the Pinterest inspo pics I sent her. The high quality of work and affordable pricing made Petals Flower Farm an excellent value for our wedding. We were thrilled with the final results and would highly recommend them to any couple planning their special day.

Milkweed Floral Co.
Rating: 5.0 (4 reviews)
  • Serves South Portland, ME

Hi! I’m Iris, the mind, body, and soul behind Milkweed! As a lot of dad’s like to joke, my name must be a birthright into floristry. In all honesty, it really has been a constant thread throughout my life. From picking flowers in my mom’s garden, to working in a flower shop in Boston right after college, then tackling florals for my own wedding in 2021, and eventually freelancing for event florists around Maine - I fell head over heels for wedding florals!

Awarded Best of Zola
Iris at Milkweed Design Co exceeded every expectation I had for my wedding in 2023! I love flowers and wanted a lot all over the venue, but I didn't specify know which ones I wanted. Iris created the perfect design that I was imagining but couldn't put into words myself. She suggested and constructed an elaborate show stopping floral installation on a tree welcoming guests to the venue and offering an unique backdrop for photos! The colors, textures, and attention to detail were perfection! Each arrangement completely transformed the space into something magical. It was clear how much care, creativity, and passion went into every aspect of Iris' work. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting the flowers at the time, and to this day, it's the one thing everyone still brings up! If you’re looking for someone incredibly talented, hard-working, and thoughtful—someone who truly cares about her craft and the clients who trust her with one of the most important days of their lives—look no further!

Flower Moxie – Do-It-Yourself Wedding Flowers
Rating: 4.9 (97 reviews)
  • Starts at $350
  • Serves South Portland, ME

In 2013, 8-year wedding veteran Amy McCord Jones realizes she wouldn't be able to afford to hire her own floral services if she was a bride. Then, Amy discovers that there is basically zero help available for DIY brides. No flower recipes. No instructions. No access to florist-grade blooms. Rude. So she launches Flower Moxie! Flower Moxie remains a humble, tucked-away small business out of Oklahoma City. We don’t zoom around on scooters in some fancy high-rise. We stock an average kitchen with canned wine and Aldi chips and listen to true crime podcasts while photographing curvy ranunculus. Join us. There’s cake, hugs, and acceptance here.

Exceptional service. Flowers don't always travel well. The flowers I ordered for my daughter's wedding bouquet and the grooms boutonniere. They arrived in less than ideal condition I contacted customer service and Alexa was incredibly helpful. She not only sent new flowers overnight but was truly concerned that they now arrived in great condition. The new flowers were gorgeous and perfect. I will be buying all my flowers from Flower Moxie. Thank you Alexa.

The Faux Bouquets
Rating: 5.0 (43 reviews)
  • Starts at $175
  • Serves South Portland, ME

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.

Awarded Best of Zola
We were so delighted to use The Faux Bouquets for our wedding. We ended up having a family emergency that forced us to downsize the size and budget of the wedding just a few months before the wedding, and the team at TFB were so accommodating and helped us to find a solution that still allowed us to use their flowers in our (modified) ceremony. We were a bit concerned about the flowers getting smushed in shipping, but they arrived looking absolutely STUNNING and with plenty of time before the big day. Even my gardener of a grandma couldn't tell they weren't real flowers! We were so happy with how everything looked on the day, and in pictures they look just as lovely. Can't recommend The Faux Bouquets enough! There's no visual difference compared to real bouquets and they are much more affordable. The last big selling point that I would advise future brides, and I did not really consider this, is that because the flowers don't wilt, we could set the decor out the night before--which is a LIFESAVER to not have to worry about on the special day! Anything that will save you time and stress on the day of the wedding is a big win!

When I started planning my wedding, I had a general vision that I was going for, but did not have exact ideas on wedding florals. I knew was that I wanted my wedding to look timeless, sophisticated and organic. From my first meeting with Naomi, I knew she understood my vision. When I received the proposal, I was blown away that she took my ideas and made them even better than I imagined. She was creative with my vibe and budget, suggesting things like tall organic vessels around the ceremony versus a traditional arch and instead of just white flowers, suggested sophisticated neutrals. The day was that much more stunning because of Naomi's florals. They were truly art and my guests were raving about the design. I couldn't recommend N&V enough. Thank you so much again Naomi!

The flowers (on our order) came in large boxes, but they were not labeled, so it took a minute to get the flowers both identified and properly set up. To be fair we were warned about the process, but not about the length of time due to our inexperience. As a note, it took my fiancé 5 hours to process the flowers when first receiving them. I also did not have any updates from them from the time I ordered till they were being shipped. They were beyond more affordable compared to other florists, and the flowers arrived alive and in good spirits. We were able to keep the flowers alive for over four days!! Many of the flowers that we chose did not have specific instructions, so we had to follow the general reference for the flowers and hope for the best. Additionally, some of the flowers that we wanted were not in stock, and they were replaced for us with substitutes but were not notified until we had all of the flowers already delivered to us. Also, as a note, bloom culture uses third party sellers for their flowers, so the quality may vary depending on location. Our flowers were in good condition, and the company we had clearly took good care of the flowers prior to delivering them to us. Would we do it again? Probably not, but it made for good laughs and bonding time and we have stories to tell from it!

Silver Street Flower Farm
Rating: 5.0 (7 reviews)
  • Starts at $4,000
  • Serves South Portland, ME

Hi, I’m Sally! I am the florist/farmer/owner of Silver Street Flower Farm, a design studio and one-acre cut flower farm. ’m a NH native, a Colby College Alumna, and a twin mom. I feel grateful I get to do something every day that builds my relationship with the natural world. Our designs are seasonal and feature our own flowers or blooms from other local growers. The flowers for your special day are sustainably grown, inspired by nature, and curated just for you.

We couldn't be happier with our experience working with Sally from Silver Street Flower Farm as our wedding florist! From the very beginning, we were captivated by her amazing style and the thoughtful selection of flowers she curated. The fact that she uses locally grown flowers made it even more special, perfectly aligning with the vision we had for our wedding day. Sally truly understood the style I was envisioning and brought it to life with such passion and enthusiasm. It felt less like working with a vendor and more like collaborating with a friend who was just as excited about the project as we were. Even though I know she had many weddings before ours in September, Sally made us feel like ours was the only one. Her energy and commitment to making our ideas a reality were unparalleled. This incredible energy carried through every step of the process—from our initial consultation to the check-ins and communication leading up to the big day. On the wedding day itself, Sally went above and beyond. She seamlessly handled additional requests for setup, worked closely with our venue to ensure everything ran smoothly, and delivered the most stunning and unique bouquets we could have imagined. I wholeheartedly recommend Sally to any future bride and groom. Her talent is unmatched, her warmth and kindness make her a joy to work with, and her attention to detail is a dream for any couple navigating the sometimes stressful world of wedding planning. Sally is an amazing creative, and we are so grateful for the role she played in making our wedding day unforgettable.
