Dalan started out in the culinary world, slinging tortas out of his garage to friends and neighbors. His journey has taken him far, now a successful restaurant owner in Santa Barbara, you can still find Chef Dalan volunteering to cook for community non-profits, teaching cooking classes about plant-based nutrition for the youth and elderly, or shopping at the farmer’s market supporting local produce vendors.

Hearth is a family-owned, Latin-inspired wood-fired pizzeria based in Moorpark, California. We began as a small catering service that grew into our dream of opening a restaurant. Now, we have the privilege of returning to our roots by bringing our ovens, handmade sourdough, seasonal ingredients, and warm hospitality to weddings and events throughout Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties. We’re here for couples who want to skip the traditional steak or chicken dinner and share something more fun, personal, and memorable with their guests, without spending their entire wedding budget on dinner.

As a husband and wife duo, and with a shared background in our Egyptian culture, we wanted to create a food experience that highlights the best of this region's flavors, the Middle East, specifically Egypt using our families recipes. I had my first shot at managing a sushi restaurant when I took over an empty section of the family restaurant and introduced sushi to my customers. It was a challenge that I will never regret accepting. It was fun, a lot of fun! I had the opportunity to work with some really talented and creative chefs. I quickly learned that it’s not just about having fresh fish anymore. Sushi dining has transformed into a culture. A culture built by imagination and creativity. With the help of GD and the support of my family, I took all that experience and fused it with my imagination and created Yooshi Sushi Catering and Event Production.
