“Fair Oaks Farms was a nice venue for our wedding, though their communication style was a bit minimal on the actual wedding day. The quality of their work and value was very nice - the servers were attentive and helpful throughout the evening. However, when our official reception time was up at 11pm, the staff turned on all the lights and rushed us to gather our belongings and vacate the reception hall immediately. This made the end of our special night feel a bit abrupt and hurried. Overall, Fair Oaks Farms provided a pleasant setting for our wedding, but could improve the communication and transition at the end of the night.”

“We planned a wedding for just over 1 year in a different time zone. From our first visit to the venue, we knew this would be the wedding of our dreams. Our wedding coordinator, Lisa, was always accommodating, gave us a very reasonable timeline and clear tasks to perform as well as due dates for payments, etc. We never felt overwhelmed by her requests and she kept us on track every step of the way. The last couple months were obviously more task intensive but due to her vast experience and clear communication we were never in doubt about what she expected from us. Additionally, during the planning process she provided multiple options for decor, venue arrangements, as well as vendor recommendations. We utilized the vendor recommendations for the photographer, florist, and cake, and each one exceeded our expectations. The photographer (Shane Lawrence Photography) was extremely professional and proficient, and produced quality photos (and video) that we will have for a lifetime. The florist (La Petite Fleuriste) created beautiful arrangements for the ceremony, gorgeous bouquets for the bridesmaids and bride, and assisted with center pieces for the reception tables. The cake (Val’s Cakes) was a breathtaking display of baking artistry and tasted incredible! The first time we saw the cake was during our entrance at the reception and we were blown away. Also, multiple guests commented to us about how delicious the cake was, a notable achievement for a wedding cake for one hundred people! The rehearsal itself went very smoothly and after only a couple iterations we left feeling confident the ceremony would be executed well. On the day of the wedding the suites were set up and ready for us including yummy snacks and beverages of our choice (must be purchased through the venue due to liquor laws). It was the perfect area to get ready. The garden was set up beautifully and we barely had to put thought into it! The appetizers at cocktail hour were delicious, the bartender was attentive and efficient throughout the night. We were pleasantly surprised at the dinner (our parents had to attend the tasting for us due to us living across the country). The chicken was moist, steak not overcooked and the sides were delicious! It all paired well together. Normally plated meals can be underwhelming, but the food at Aberdeen was exceptional. The wait staff was attentive, efficient and professional and there were adequate servers for the amount of tables we had. Throughout the entire night we felt supported by our coordinator and the entire staff, but they did not bother us with frivolous questions. Family and friends have been raving for days after the wedding about how nice the whole event was, and how good the food and drinks were. I wish I could replay the night again. I highly recommend Aberdeen Manor for a wedding or other special event.”

“We were honored to host our wedding at Meyers Castle in August 2024 and can’t imagine having our dream day anywhere else. My husband’s been familiar with the venue for years way back when they hosted events at the speakeasy. When he described it to me it sounded too good to be true but after touring the first time words can’t describe how beautiful it is. It’s an absolute dream venue with so many beautiful backdrops and details you don’t need much decor! The garden and statues are stunning! We honeymooned in Italy and have to say this venue rivals any Italian Villa. The staff were so accommodating and helpful. The food is amazing and for smaller weddings the Oakroom is so intimate and beautiful. I wish we could relive the day over and over again. It’s so romantic and can fit any size wedding. We didn’t use the bridal suite because it’s a separate fee but found the venues all inclusive rates to be extremely affordable. Our ceremony was in front of the gazebo with the castle in the background but any location would be equally beautiful. If you’re thinking about it let this be your sign it’s just as beautiful in person as in pictures. Our wedding was even featured on Brides as a hidden NWI gem. It’s only 30 min-1 hour outside of Chicago so it wasn’t an issue for guests to get to. Thank you Meyers Castle for hosting our dream day!”

“Beautiful venue and stunning for the price compared to a lot of locations. Really easy to work with but we found ourselves repeating details A LOT and yet some of them got lost anyways - for example, I had made a full allergy list for the reception organized by table, and yet staff brought me (the bride) food I am dangerously allergic to. It was fixed quickly but annoying because I’d spent so much time preparing this and details got lost anyways. This happened in multiple ways. “I picked this location because of how beautiful the landscape is. So many different spots on the property to get married on, all beautiful. Different locations cost different price. Overall, relatively cheap compared to other venues. When talking to them, I first started with one wedding coordinator. She left and was informed about the new coordinator. She introduced herself and thought she was awesome. She was very tentative to all the details and was very helpful. I wasn’t informed that she had left and a new coordinator had taken her spot. I didn’t know there was a new coordinator until the day before the wedding. She didn’t take charge of anything. She took a back seat to everything. Told her I had a specific song I wanted to play for walking down the aisle. There wasn’t any sort practice with the song at the rehearsal. She couldn’t figure out how to connect my phone to the sound system. She couldn’t figure out how to navigate the song that I had already pulled up on my phone.”

We're a working regenerative farm. It's actually an old bootleggers farm of Al Capones. Today we raise world class heritage breed pork, lamb, chicken & beef.
