We recently got married at Gala 417, and the entire experience was fantastic! The venue is absolutely breathtaking, and our guests couldn’t stop raving about how stunning everything was. Working with the Gala 417 team, especially Sarah and Lyndsey, made the planning process enjoyable and stress-free. They were incredibly responsive and attentive, always quick to answer questions and ensure that our wedding day vision came to life in a way that felt uniquely ours. Lyndsey, our day-of coordinator, was amazing! She handled everything flawlessly throughout the morning and early afternoon, and we truly appreciated how well-organized and professional she was. Even though there were a couple of small bumps after her departure, such as the DJ needing a reminder for speeches, and a few of our selected beer options running out earlier than expected, the staff still managed to keep everything running smoothly. To future brides, I would recommend clearly emphasizing any specific beverage preferences during your catering and blueprint meetings if you or your guests have favorites to avoid any disappointments. We were especially excited about the food after trying it at our catering meeting—it was delicious, and we even bragged to our guests about it! However, on the day of the wedding, the food served was bland and inconsistently prepared. We had requested steaks to be cooked medium, but after the fact, many of our guests shared that their filets ranged from rare to well-done, with some even mentioning gristle or fat in the cut—which shouldn’t happen with a filet. This was a bit disappointing, especially considering how much we were looking forward to the meal. Overall, Gala 417 went above and beyond to make our wedding day truly unforgettable. We would absolutely recommend this venue to future couples—between the gorgeous space and the dedication of the staff, our wedding was everything we dreamed of and more. We are so grateful to the entire Gala 417 team for making our day so special!

My husband and I cannot say enough about The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing! From the first tour back in August 2024 until our wedding in November 2025, they were absolutely fantastic. We worked with Bonnie initially, but Alli was our official day of coordinator. The price is worth it for everything you get - venue, staff, food, bar, setup, and so much more. Alli and her staff were amazing every step of the way, and they truly made our wedding day as special, easy, and memorable it could be. The photos I am attaching are from Ivy and Lace Photo!

Venue considerations

  • Additional event staff required

My husband and I had a rough time finding a wedding venue that felt like "us" and were almost frustrated to the point of wanting to elope (no joke). We stumbled upon Tobacco Company as an option and were surprised as we hadn't heard anything about them doing wedding events. We called to find out more and everything fell into place. We worked with Erika who is the absolute best- she was so easy to communicate with throughout the planning process and answered all of our continuous questions over the course of the 8 months leading up to the wedding event. We held our reception in the downstairs lounge area because we had around 75-80 guests. My husband and I were both familiar with Tobacco Company as a nightlife spot, but we were blown away by how beautiful it looked once prepped for a wedding event. The food was INCREDIBLE to the point that our guests all raved about how much they loved everything. We could not have been happier with our experience. If you're looking for a venue that captures Richmond charm, Tobacco Company is the perfect spot. Thank you to Erika and all of the staff that made the day so wonderful!

  • Classic, vintage atmosphere
  • Both indoor and outdoor options

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible

We had a terrific experience working with Lewis Ginter to host our wedding. The event planning staff was great, from our initial inquiries, through the planning process, to the last few weeks leading up to our wedding getting all the details squared away. The Bloemendaal House was the perfect venue for us in that it allowed us to have an outdoor wedding near the city without having to pay to erect a tent ourselves. While we didn’t need it, the staff was ready to accommodate a rain plan and kept the setup flowing smoothly. The catering and bar service were excellent, and it was so convenient to work with a venue that has a great in-house caterer. They kindly fielded requests from us all the way up to our wedding week. We had many positive comments on the food from our guests, particularly the mini beef wellingtons and tomato soup! They were also happy to have us bring in a non-traditional dessert option (an ice cream wagon!). The staff also took care to bring us drinks and food as the bride and groom to make sure we were well taken care of.
