“My fiancé and I were looking for a rustic wedding venue, not a ballroom, preferably a venue with space to be outside (weather permitting). We visited a few options in the Philly area and fell in love with the John James Audubon Center! The space offers SO many options for an outdoor or indoor ceremony. They host receptions in the pavilion which is open with huge windows and firepits outside! The site is beautiful, and everyone we’ve worked with has been immensely helpful! After officially booking for our October 2024 wedding, we planned to visit with our parents. What was originally intended to be a quick stroll around the grounds turned into an impromptu tour with the venue manage. She answered all of our parents' questions and even brought out photo books of previous weddings for us to flip through together. With the wedding right around the corner now, we could not be more thrilled with our decision and can't wait to be there next month to celebrate our big day!”

“My husband and I had our Christmas-themed wedding at the Eden on December 10th of 2021, and I can’t sing the praises of the wedding coordinators, concierges, catering and janitorial staff enough. From start to finish we felt genuinely cared for by everyone in the resort...and I know how often they host weddings, but each and every person on the Eden team accommodated us in such a joyful way; as if we were the only wedding in the building. And it felt like they were sincerely happy for us. Which made the day feel really, really special. Madeline and Felicia, our wedding/day-of coordinators, attended to every last detail of the day, making sure that absolutely nothing was missed. They were present, intentional, flexible, and at times even borderline protective of me and my family. And that’s anything a bride could ever ask for. I couldn’t be more grateful. As far as the planning process goes: as a project manager, I very much appreciated the explicit, direct nature of their policies and procedures. After offering me several tours of the venue (MOB was from out of town and MOG wanted to see it on separate occasions) and answering all of my many many questions via phone and email, we had several formal meetings to comb through all the details and make sure we were on the same page. Maddie was able to help me delegate and manage my expectations, especially when it came to who was responsible for what, and even then bent over backwards to help me and my bridal party with day-of tasks. Thanks again to everyone on The Eden Resort & Suites staff. You were such a crucial part of our big day and we appreciate your hard work!”

Venue considerations

“My partner and I fell in love with Pentridge Station almost right away as customers — the friendly staff, the chill/homey vibe, and the welcoming atmosphere all helped us to feel a sense of community and belonging in a city that was new to us. When we finally decided to throw a wedding celebration after 2 years of being married (specifically a cook-out vibe, easy breezy celebration) it was a no brainer to reach out to Pentridge. That being said, it’s a pretty versatile space and can be dressed up or down depending on the kind of wedding you’re going for. We coordinated directly with the owners, Jocelyn and Ephream, who were both very thoughtful, sweet, and gracious throughout the entire process. Their flexible event rental options, list of recommended food vendors, and local DJs really helped to make us feel supported in our planning. Their bartending staff was attentive and wonderful. All of our guests - a mix of family from North Jersey, Maryland, and New York - were so impressed with the venue. For almost all of them it was their first time visiting us in West Philly, and having Pentridge Station be their introduction to the neighborhood and our life in Philadelphia felt incredibly special. We would highly recommend considering Pentridge if you’re looking to celebrate your love in a fun, community-driven space with TONS of heart and personality. You’d be hard pressed to find a better customer service experience anywhere else!”

“Our wedding spanned five different exhibits/areas of the Penn Museum -- from a procession in the Stoner Courtyard to the ceremony in Pepper Hall, to cocktail hour in the Lower Level Egypt exhibit (where the Sphinx used to be), to dinner in the Chinese Rotunda, and finally dancing in the Upper Level Egypt exhibit. Being surrounded by the galleries in a beautiful venue made for a unique and unforgettable event! Everything went smoothly thanks to the thoughtfulness and attentiveness of Atiya German and Michelle Bach (CxRA). They helped us accomplish our vision for our wedding, and were accommodating to our special needs for food, decor, a few young children in attendance, clothing changes, an unexpected light rain on the wedding day, and even a horse at the procession! Prices were very reasonable, especially when compared to other similar venues in Philly, and we were only ever charged for what we used. I highly recommend Penn Museum and working with Atiya in particular.”

This beautiful New Beaux-Arts style building, constructed in 1908 and designed by Cope and Stewardson, has the unique distinction of being home to the oldest medical society in the country (founded in 1787) and the renowned Mütter Museum. As guests walk inside, they are surrounded by grandeur and elegance, and greeted by Aesculapius – the Greek god of medicine. The magnificent columned Marble Rotunda, with its view of a classic grand staircase, sets the stage for any occasion. With its historic ambience and stately architecture, it’s no wonder that the College – located in Philadelphia’s charming Rittenhouse-Fitler Historic District – has been the chosen setting for a diverse range of memorable events.

  • No on-site guest accommodations

“This place is really the spot for a once in a lifetime dark romantic wedding. First of all, the venue really speaks for itself. The spaces, from the garden to the ballrooms are so beautiful, it doesn't really require a lot of dressing up. Also, when you go with the College of Physicians, you get a full buyout. The whole place is yours, including museum access, which was super important to us. The in house caterer, Catering By Design also makes the whole process a turn key solution. They have the tables, linens, silverware, plates, and a super team. No need to source everything from a million vendors. Despite the fact that they are the exclusive caterer, CBD does not take your experience for granted. They put a ton of care into bringing your vision to life, the food is truly superb, and was a consistent hit with our friends and family. A few things we feel should mention. The museum does have some form of plans for renovations and expansion. We recommend checking with the current status of their plans before committing 100%. We also found that those plans can shift slightly, and for us it was beneficial to be flexible on things like the grooms suite and our first look location. With that being said, we would absolutely have our wedding here again. The rates were extremely reasonable for what you get, and for us it was so unique and memorable. We want to give a special shout out to our contact at CBD Ginger, and Carolyn who handled florals. Thank you guys for making our wedding the best night of our lives.”

“Where to begin… just can’t express any of what we felt fully in words but we will try. Drumore estate was exactly what we had hoped for and MORE in a venue and gave us our perfect day with “no notes”! What drew us to Drumore and they delivered: 1. Multi seasonal - due to temperature and cost, we quickly decided that we wanted an off season winter wedding. Something that was very important to us was having a good indoor ceremony space. They were incredibly flexible up to the day of the ceremony (game time decision) to do the ceremony inside or outside depending upon weather. 2. Exclusive use/flexibility pre-post wedding - although we had other venues that we loved, a big thing that set Drumore apart from other venues was its feeling of making the day exclusively our day (one wedding a day) giving us the flexibility to use the entire estate literally all day from 8am - 10pm, in addition to allowing us to drop off things the day before and pick up the day after. This really allowed us and our families to be fully present in the day and not feel rushed/more stressed. Trust us, this was HUGE and truly made all the difference! 3. All inclusive - it was very important to us to pick a venue that had a lot included. Drumore came with onsite catering, bar service, all linens, tables, etc. bridal and groom suit, ceremony space, cocktail space, reception space and so on. We also utilized their third party rental service which was extremely affordable and great for last minute additions with zero hassle. Also, huge bonus, the food was phenomenal, we did a buffet and our guests truly loved it! 4. MARNIE! (Wedding Planner) - Planning a wedding without your own personal wedding planner can be intimidating, but Marnie did far more than your average venue facilitator. She is so enthusiastic, yet detailed, which allows her to thrive in this type of role. When we met with her we were able to break down every step and detail of our day and left feeling very confident in our decisions and plan. She even helped create a step by step timeline. Not only did she help us prepare, but was present on the day of, always stepping in at the right moments without taking attention away from our special moments. We can’t express truly how Marnie’s hard work made our day special. She was also great with responding to all the one off email questions throughout the months leading up. 5. We understand this is a lot of detail, but we really wanted to highlight all the things that set Drumore apart and helped make our day so perfect. We have endless compliments on how amazing the venue was from all our guests. Although weddings are expensive, between keeping our guest list to a manageable hundred people and having it off season, we felt like Drumore provided a day that from an outside perspective you would assume the wedding cost us well over 50k with how stunning and just perfect everything was and looked. We had 100 guests in the ballroom for the ceremony and the carriage house for the reception and felt that fit our event perfectly. All in all it’s hard to imagine our day and the planning leading up could have gone any better “NO NOTES”! We would highly recommend exploring Drumore as an option for your big day!”

“From the first time we reached out to the team at Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve, they were very responsive, getting back to us within 48 hours. As our wedding date approached, their communication became even more great as they helped us navigate the DIY elements of the venue. While we had to handle a lot of the setup ourselves, their day-of coordinator was a huge help, even providing a golf cart to shuttle us around the sprawling property. Everything is outsourced at Bowman's, but the coordinator did a pretty good job ensuring our special day ran smoothly. The bathrooms did flood and we are still looking for some of our things as our things were piled up all over. Overall, we were very pleased with the value and unique setting Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve provided for our wedding.”
