“I just got married in the beginning of May and Julia was one of the SWEETEST wedding vendors I worked with! My aunt, who is a florist in Korea, was supposed to do my flowers but unfortunately got injured last minute which restricted her from traveling. The entire process from start to finish was seamless and professional, and our flowers turned out more gorgeous than I could have possibly imagined! Everything was so perfect, I cried when I first held my bridal bouquet on our wedding day. We initially contacted Melissa only 6 weeks before our wedding (which was pretty last-minute). After chatting on the phone, we sent her some Pinterest boards with more details about our style and vision. Within 24 hours, Melissa sent a very thorough itemized proposal with the exact flowers and items for us to confirm within our wishlist and budget range, such as bouquets, corsages/boutonnieres, the flower girl basket, the ceremony arch, table centerpieces, and wedding cake florals. The whole proposal signing and decision-making process was super smooth and easy. Something I thought was really unique is that they were able to repurpose our ceremony arch into our sweetheart table decor in order to reduce the cost, as well as repurpose the flowers in a sustainable way. We really didn’t need much additional decor for our wedding because the flowers brought everything to life within the venue space. At the time there weren’t many ppl local to me who made wooden bouquets but I reached out to a few and ended up going with Katie at Heart & Sola Creations because she was so easy to talk to and walked me through the whole process. She didn’t have one of the colors I needed but asked me to send a fabric sample and she created a dye color that matched my bridesmaid’s dresses perfectly!! Everything came out perfect and looked so good in pictures. 6 years later and I still have my bouquet on display on a shelf and my husband’s boutonnière in a shadow box with our invite, vows and unity rope braid. “My wedding was 2 days ago, and I cannot say enough about Jackie and Blooms by JG. Hire her immediately. From my first call with Jackie almost a year ago, she immediately got my vision. She was so easy to work with and really listened to what I wanted. I told Jackie, "I just want it to look like I went outside, picked a bunch of random flowers, and stuck them in a vase....in February." And boy did she deliver. I sent over a few inspo photos, and my flowers looked better than the inspiration pictures. All night, guests came up to me and said how beautiful the bouquets were, and I honestly wish I could have mine fresh all year round.. it's just that beautiful. Jackie did the set up for my tables, and they looked better than I can imagine. The corsage was gorgeous, boutonnieres were gorgeous, everything was gorgeous! From start to finish, she was a dream to work with. She's got a great eye, knows what looks good together, and is just really good at her job. I was on a tight budget for our wedding and was concerned that I would have to sacrifice something. Jackie is affordable, creates stunning work, and was just so lovely. “Melissa and her staff at Amaranth Florist were a joy to work with, and I highly recommend them. We began working with them in 2019 for my daughter's 2020 wedding. Then the pandemic hit and we had to reschedule for 2021. Amaranth was with us every step of the way, adjusting not just date but venue changes. As we got closer to the actual wedding date, our numbers kept dropping as folks became concerned about traveling due to Covid. Melissa was so responsive and flexible in making the needed changes. What I really appreciated about them was their willingness to work within our budget, allowing us trim some costs by providing our own candles and candle holders. As for the flowers, they were truly lovely. In particular, they worked hard to create a bridal bouquet that minimized overly scented blooms, to accommodate my daughter's allergies. All the bridesmaid bouquets and grooms people's boutonnieres were gorgeous. The pallet was white and green and they found varied textures and hues to make the bouquets really pop. The decorated chuppah and simple greenery on the tables was exactly what my daughter and her husband wanted. Amaranth delivered beautiful flowers at a reasonable cost and did so with top notch service. I cannot recommend Melissa and her team more highly!”

My love of Floriculture and Horticulture began when I was young thanks to parents that loved to garden and create breathtaking displays of flowers. That love continued through school and became my passion in college. After gaining a BS from Michigan State University in Horticulture/Floriculture and Landscape Design, I began my career. In 1995, I began Mark Bryan Designs with a eye towards creating unique floral designs for events and weddings.
