The Chicken Slacks are "Boston's Hardest Working Classic Soul, Funk, and R&B Band"! We consist of 7-members and when we play weddings or other events we include a sound engineer with some stage lighting. We also provide other services for an extra fee. We held down a 15-year residency at The Word Famous Cantab Lounge in Central Square, Cambridge, MA before the 2020 pandemic. Not only am I the band's client relations manager, I also play saxophone and am the band's emcee. These are my ALL-TIME favorite genres to perform and The Chicken Slacks have mastered the art of re-invigorating these special genres.

Hi there! We're just a couple guys (cousins actually) that were born and raised in the Lakes Region of NH. We've been entertaining people at weddings and other functions for years with bands and as DJs. We love making people laugh, smile and just have a great time. We noticed there weren't many DJs in NH that could offer the live music services couples wanted for their ceremony or cocktail hour. That's when we decided to create this business. Bassist and bandleader Josh Levine got his start in the professional music business busking in SoHo with The Flying Neutrinos in ’93, so when NYC shut down in Spring of 2020, he capitalized on his experience as a street performer and began to play regularly in the parks of NYC with percussionist and sonero, Jainardo Batista, renowned flutist Itai Kriss making his debut on Cuban trés guitar, and María Raquel on vocals and minor percussion. Before long, the quartet had generated some buzz, several venues hired them to play outdoors and pianist Gabriel Chakarji and Grammy winning flutist and vocalist Jeremy Bosch became staples of the group.
