The Best Wedding Caterers in Old Chatham, NY

“We could not have been happier with our experience with Shale Hill Events. My husband and I were fairly clueless at the start and Brianne immediately put us at ease and helped us plan out our wedding day, ensuring zero stress and a wonderful day. Brianne met with us several times to discuss food, timing, what she amd her team would need from our venue, and was very helpful working within our budget. On our wedding day, we didn't have to worry about a thing. Brianne and her staff set up everything wonderfully and our guests absolutely loved the staff. The food was truly incredible!! I had multiple guests tell me it was the best food they ever had at a wedding, and we could not agree more! From the passed hors d-oeuvres all the way to the late night bites, the food was melt-in-your mouth delicious and we were so happy with how everything turned out. If you want amazing food, incredible service, and a stress-free day, I cannot recommended Brianne and the staff of Shale Hill Events highly enough!!”

“My now-husband and I are big foodies! He also works in the restaurant industry, so having great food at our wedding was our top priority. We did a lot of research, looked into all of our venue's recommended vendors, and did tastings with 4 different caterers! Fig and Pig came out on top, not just for the amazing food, but for the team - you could just tell that they really cared about both back of house and front of house, and have put together a team of people who work so well together, who care about the food, have great attitudes and love the wedding business. We loved chatting with Holly at our tasting, and Tammy was on top of every little detail throughout the process. The selection of food was incredible, and they were even open to making customizations. We kept the food coming all night from the Fried Chicken Station at cocktail hour - a crowd favorite, don't miss it! To a late night snack of pretzels and dips, knowing that no one would leave hungry. Our guests are still raving about the food, including our chef friends, saying it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. Also, try the family style dinner! Everyone loved the social way the food was served and enjoyed, and our guests are loved getting to try a little bit of everything. Do yourself a favor, and go with Fig and Pig, you won't regret it!”

“Joint Venture cooked some of the best food of our lives for our wedding of 135 people last year in the Catskills. Danny somehow managed to create a menu that was comforting and indulgent, yet nourishing. I'm a musician who's played hundreds of weddings and I've never experienced a caterer close to Joint Venture's level. He also focuses on seasonal ingredients and sustainable farming practices-- even growing some of the food for the meal himself. We couldn't recommend Joint Venture more to anyone looking for a transcendent catering experience that's also down-to-earth (literally).”

“The Beacon Daily was a fantastic catering choice for our wedding. From our first interaction, their communication style was frequent, easy, and laid back, putting us at ease throughout the planning process. The quality of their work was simply unbelievable - the food they served at both our welcome party and reception was delicious and amazing, with many guests telling us it was the best they've ever had at a wedding. They easily accommodated a gluten-free menu and guests with sensitivities to spicy food. Chris, our main point of contact, was an absolute pleasure to work with. “Our wedding was on Saturday 10/4 and we cannot say enough good things about Adrienne, Randy and the entire team at Plate and Graze. Throughout the entire process their communication and attention to detail was top notch. Adrienne always made us feel like our wedding was a priority and was always willing to offer a personal touch. Our guests can’t stop talking about how amazing the food was and how amazing the presentation was of both the buffet and the dance floor options (including the bottle service style pretzels and beer cheese). I highly recommend trusting Plate and Graze for your special day.”

“If not for Swoon, we probably would not have had our wedding celebration, nor would it have been a memorable one. Amy from Swoon saved us-- twice! Two months before our wedding celebration, we encountered major issues with our original caterer who was lacking in transparency and responsiveness. Amy, on the other hand, was incredibly professional and communicative when we contacted her to see if Swoon could provide our food and bar services at the last minute. It was a miracle that Swoon was able to accommodate our request. I guess it was meant to be! Amy was super organized and made everything easy in the midst of us feeling frenzied from the mess that our initial caterer created. She went above and beyond throughout the process, coordinating with the equipment rental company, setting us up with a few tastings when we visited the Swoon restaurant for lunch (everything was AMAZING), and she even responded promptly while she was out of the country on vacation! Everything was upfront regarding pricing and options, and the options looked so amazing that it was hard for us to choose! On the day-of, my husband and I were luckily able to eat during our celebration (the staff so graciously prepared plates for us) and we were impressed by how beautifully prepared and displayed everything was, from the passed appetizers and pre-plated salad to the buffet style dinner and dessert. Everything was so fresh! We were most notably surprised by how juicy the meat was. It is evident that the Swoon team takes the time to carefully craft their dishes. I can remember eating dinner that night while my father-in-law was discussing brunch for the next day, which Amy also helped schedule for us (this is the second time she saved us-- exactly what happens when your in-laws are last-minute planners)! Brunch at Le Perche, Swoon’s sister restaurant, was excellent as well. Go with Swoon if you want phenomenal food and service. We couldn’t have done it without them!”

Creative Foods Catering

“We had such a wonderful experience with Creative Foods Catering for our wedding, and we truly cannot recommend them enough! From the moment we booked them about a year before our wedding, Mehmet and his wife Michelle were incredibly communicative, responsive, and helpful. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but having vendors who are reliable and easy to communicate with makes such a huge difference, and we always felt like we were in great hands with them. One of our favorite parts of the planning process was the tasting, which they hosted in our home. They made the entire experience so much fun and personal. It was clear that they genuinely cared about making sure we were happy with the menu and that everything reflected what we wanted for our wedding. They were very accommodating and made the process feel less like a formal business transaction and more like working with people who were genuinely excited to be part of our wedding. Most importantly, the food was excellent! Our guests raved about the appetizers and desserts in particular, and we heard so many compliments throughout the night. The quality was fantastic, and we were especially happy that the food was something our guests remembered and talked about after the wedding. It was clear that a lot of care went into both the preparation and presentation. Mehmet also went above and beyond for us on the actual wedding day. We decided not to have a DJ and needed some help with our ceremony music, and Mehmet was kind enough to step in and help us with it. That was something outside of what we expected from our caterer, and we really appreciated him being willing to help make sure everything went smoothly. Another thoughtful detail was that the Creative Foods team made sure to set aside appetizers specifically for us. With the wedding day being so busy and spending most of the evening talking to guests, we easily could have gone the entire night without getting a chance to eat! They made sure we had food waiting for us, which was such a small but incredibly appreciated gesture. Overall, Creative Foods Catering was amazing from start to finish. The food was delicious, the communication was excellent, and Mehmet and Michelle genuinely went above and beyond to make our wedding day special. We are so grateful we chose them for our wedding!”

The New York Country Club

“We loved every moment of wedding planning with Julie Ann at NYCC. She was the first coordinator we spoke to and we knew she was fantastic right away. We visited several other venues to be sure, and they just didn’t measure up to NYCC’s hospitality and attention to detail. Julie Ann kept us updated throughout our year and a half engagement, even through many Covid changes. NYCC always reassured us that they would be up to date with safety policies and procedures, and they most certainly were. The wedding day was absolutely spectacular. Julie Ann and my bridal attendant Lori did not let me worry about a single thing. The vendors got all set up and ready to go and I didn’t even realize! I just got to enjoy my day thanks to the ease and efficiency of NYCC. My guests cannot stop telling me how delicious the food was, and how much food there was! We didn’t even include any add-ons to our menu because there is so much food already (although we really toyed with the sushi station and the ice sculpture add ons!) My husband and I enjoyed all of the cocktail hour food intimately in our bridal suite on a beautiful charcuterie tray. How lovely to have a private moment right after the ceremony! We also got to keep our things in the locked bridal suite the night before the wedding, and could have left things until the next morning if we had chosen. It was so great to have that private, safe space, and to be able to give the key code to select members of family and bridal party. I can’t emphasize enough how wonderful Julie Ann was in helping us coordinate the best day of our lives. There isn’t a single thing I would have changed! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!”

Elm Roastery

Rating: 4.3 (102 reviews)

“We loved having Elm Roastery at our wedding! My husband and I have a long history of fond memories and treasured conversations shared over a coffee, and we are so joyful that Elm was able to bring this to life and help us share this tradition with our loved ones. A highlight I want to note in my review is how professional and kind their barista was. The coffee enthusiasts of our bunch had so much fun asking questions and learning about their workflow and craft coffee process. Our friends and family also really enjoyed trying drinks that they may not have tried otherwise, and had only great things to say about them! Plus, coffeecake3. We also found their offerings to be at a great value. Their communication, attention to detail, and rates make it clear that their heart and passion is in the coffee and connection. They made a custom menu for us and, in addition to standard offerings, had decaf, alternative milks, flavor syrups, chai, teas, and hot cocoa available. There was absolutely something for everyone! The Elm Roastery coffee cart would be a lovely addition to any gathering, but for us personally, it was also a great way to offer something fun and new drink-wise after a late lunch as we did not have alcohol at our celebration. If you are also looking at throwing a sober wedding (or any other kind of wedding), I would highly recommend and consider having the Elm coffee cart! Elm Roastery is a Queens gem and they added such warmth and joy to our day. You should 100% message Peter. Like right now. P.S. you can preview their coffee at their cafe in Elmhurst so you don't have to just take my word for it!”

From the very first consultation, their team was not only professional and organized, but also incredibly warm and passionate about creating something truly special for us. They worked closely with us to design the perfect menu one that felt elegant, meaningful, and deeply personal. The food? Absolutely unforgettable. Not the kind of Italian food you find at most restaurants in America, but the kind that fills the air in the streets of Rome, or the kind your nonna would make with love. Our guests are still talking about the flavors - the richness, the freshness, the authenticity. It was more than just a meal; it was an experience. “We had a private wedding ceremony and got referred to Avenue29 as a caterer who would understand the specific details of what we wanted to make our food as magical as the rest of our day. When meeting with Nicholas we were thoroughly impressed by his calm and confident presence, his detailed questions and the vision he helped us co-create. We didn’t want a traditional buffet so he came up with a beautiful 4-corner display so each section could have their own semi-private food display. His attention to detail, professionalism and personality were nothing like we had experienced before. We had a beautiful tasting, he went over every line item with us thoroughly, and made sure it was the right package for our wedding. And the delivery on our wedding day was exactly what we’d imagined and more. Amazing food, service, presentation, and professionalism. We could not recommend Avenue29 enough! “We couldn't be more thrilled with the catering service provided by Bartleby & Sage for our wedding! From the initial tasting to the final course, everything was absolutely perfect. The team went above and beyond to ensure that our guests had an unforgettable dining experience. First off, the tasting was a breeze— Leslie made us feel so comfortable and guided us through the menu options, offering thoughtful suggestions based on our preferences. We appreciated her flexibility and creativity, helping us choose a menu that reflected our personal tastes. On the big day, the food was a standout. The presentation was elegant, and the flavors were out of this world! Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how delicious everything was, from the appetizers to the main course to the decadent desserts. The staff was attentive, professional, and made sure everything was served at the perfect temperature and with impeccable timing. One thing that really impressed us was how seamlessly everything was handled. The catering team was discreet yet efficient, making sure the flow of food didn’t interrupt the festivities but still keeping everything on track. It was clear they were highly experienced and took great pride in their work. Not only was the food outstanding, but the overall service and experience were top-notch. Leslie and her team truly made our wedding day even more special, and we’re so grateful for their hard work and dedication. If you're looking for a caterer who provides delicious food, exceptional service, and an unforgettable experience, we highly recommend Bartleby & Sage.”
