The Horticulture Center, located in Philadelphia’s beautiful Fairmount Park, includes a modern exhibition hall and greenhouse on stunning historic grounds. The initial Livingston, New Jersey-based residence was built in the late 1800s by famed architect Stanford White, who was responsible for designing the Tiffany building on Fifth Avenue, the original Madison Square Garden complex among other landmark structures. While the restored building has since been reincarnated as one of the leading wedding and event spaces in the tri-state area, it still maintains the feeling of its 19th century grandeur. Our historic house was built and finished in 1774 and was the home of New Jersey's first elected Governor William Livingston. Constructed in 1932, this vintage barn oversees 12+ acres of native grasslands – a rich habitat for wildflowers, birds and butterflies – and a historic farmhouse built in the 1750s by a second-generation Quaker farmer. The property is also home to Pinelands Preservation Alliance, whose mission is to protect the natural resources, history and culture of this unique region. In 2017, the Alliance transformed the barn into a great gathering place. The recently completed renovation brings contemporary comfort and energy efficiency to a setting that still retains its authentic character. For weddings and private celebrations, the “big red barn” opens onto beautiful outdoor spaces for garden ceremonies and cocktails, while the interior is scaled for dinner and dancing for as many as 175 guests.

The Duke Sculpture Garden at the Dixon Mansion in Wallingford is housed on a 100-year-old estate. The most striking features of the four-acre landscaped grounds are Rapunzel stone tower and the Main Building, built in 1889. Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve is a 134-acre nature preserve, botanical garden, and accredited museum. Today, the preserve contains over 700 of the 2,000 plant species native to Pennsylvania and the Delaware Valley, growing in a naturalistic setting of woodlands, meadows, ponds and Pidcock Creek, with about 4.5 miles of walking trails. It is an excellent site for bird-watching. The preserve was established in 1934 within the Washington Crossing Historic Park at the site where George Washington‘s army camped during the American Revolutionary War. Just five miles south of the preserve, Washington and his men crossed the Delaware River to fight and win the Battle of Trenton in 1776.

Bell Gate Farm is the perfect backdrop for any kind of event. I have one rule, however, there will never be more than one event per day. I firmly believe that you cannot concentrate and give supreme customer service when there are multiple activities going on the same day. When you rent Bell Gate, you are getting every nook and cranny, and that allows us to play a little bit. We can have a cocktail hour at the pool, but move dinner to the barn, and it feels like you’ve changed venue’s completely.
