Throughout its history the school stayed true to its Catholic roots and the nuns who served and taught here. Operating until 1982 the stories written within its walls are still told today. Re-emerging with a new mission and purpose in April of 1991, Nazareth Hall was reborn. Built-in 1848, the wedding barn was originally a working farm, used as a hay and milking barn on the Briggs family 500-acre farm. Gideon Owen Wine Company is a historic winery, restaurant and event venue. The original stone structure was built by the Catwaba Island Wine Company in 1872, as a wine cooperative for local vineyard owners. The property was later sold and was known for producing American-made champagne. The historic European-inspired cellar vaults offer a unique experience for guests.
