We did a trial session a few months before the wedding and it went really well. I wanted to do a colorful makeup look for my Indian wedding and Cheryl was totally on board with bold green eyeshadow! Ashley was also super helpful with all the headwear necessary for the event, giving us advice for how to prep my dupatta (veil) to keep it in place and that sort of thing. On the wedding day itself, they did a great job quickly sussing out the different styles and tastes of the wedding party. They also had something in common with everyone and were chatting and joking with us all morning! They finished up right on schedule, and were able to do touch ups before the ceremony started. Everyone's hair and makeup lasted beautifully through 12 hours of dancing, sweating, rain, and happy tears! I'd absolutely book them again, they were a joy to work with!”

I booked two separate trials with Lori to try out all kinds of different hair options, and she probably spent about 5 hours with me to make sure I was going with the hairstyle that would make me the happiest on the big day. She never made me feel rushed or annoying, even though I was being incredibly indecisive! Her shop is adorable and comfortable and the other people on her team were all fantastic - they showed up to my house the morning of the wedding on time, they breezed through everyone's hair and makeup in a timely fashion, and everyone looked gorgeous after all was said and done. As someone who really doesn't like to have a ton of makeup, I was super nervous about having our makeup professionally done, but I had nothing to worry about - it turned out amazing. One of my bridesmaids opted out of having her makeup done because she never likes how people do her makeup, but afterwards she told me that this was the one time she somewhat regretted not getting her makeup done because she loved how ours turned out so much. My silk press lasts about two weeks (without a relaxer) when I get them done from her! For me that’s a looonnngg time. My hair has grown so much under her care, as it was VERY damaged from relaxing it and always adding extensions when I first started seeing her. So when I found out that Dara was doing hair for a wedding I was going to be in, it was a no-brained to have her do my hair. She took the time to chat beforehand with me and made sure she knew what I wanted. She was able to work with the curly extensions I brought with me. And she took the time and care to make sure I not only looked good as a bridesmaid but that I loved the way I looked. She is not only a talented hair stylist but also an all around sweet human being. I am very picky about makeup (I had never had it done professionally where I had actually liked it prior to my wedding trial) and Amie knew exactly what to do with very limited direction from me. For my hair, I asked for a pretty big change the day of (compared with what was done at my trial) and it was better than I could have expected. Finally, two of my bridesmaids are big into makeup and sat with one of the Amie's assistants for hours during the day asking about products and they have been using some she recommended since! For a vendor that I spent a ton of time researching prior to selecting one, Amie, Kelley, and their team were phenomenal and I would recommend them to anyone, no matter your style or tastes. They may have been slightly higher priced than some of the others I looked at but they were more than worth it - hair and makeup is not something you don't want to be happy with on your wedding day!
