Hi there! I am a HMUA, and the owner of Jill Graul Cosmetics located in the Bel Air, MD area. I love making everyone feel beautiful on their wedding day, by offering Bridal hair and makeup. I’ve been working with brides and vendors since graduating from cosmetology school and have fallen in love with curating the look you desire on your day. Striving to enhance your natural beauty, I also offer beauty services in my salon. Such as, Brows, Lashes and Facials so you can be the most radiant you can be.

Bridal wellness and perfection for your skin. I’m detailed and meticulous for your hair and makeup. I make sure to listen to all of your concerns and wishes. I’m known to be personable, understanding and a great listener for all of my brides.

25 miles from my studio is free. Outside of 25 miles is $1/mile

I allot 70 minutes for my bride and 45 minutes for each additional member of your bridal party

No. I have found throughout my career that traditional brush application gives me far better results that last all night, blend seamlessly, and look great in person AND in photos.

Disappointing Bridal Trial Experience
Unfortunately, both my fiancée and I left our bridal hair trial feeling dismissed, unheard, and genuinely anxious about trusting this stylist with our wedding day. The hairstyles we received looked significantly different from the inspiration photos we provided. My requested low romantic updo was styled much higher and fuller than discussed, with a completely different silhouette and overall feel than the reference images. When I politely expressed concern and asked about adjusting it, I was told, “Well, I’m not redoing the whole thing.” That moment completely changed the tone of the appointment for me. A bridal trial is supposed to be collaborative. If a trial look is grossly different from what was requested, most brides are not going to feel comfortable simply leaving it to faith and hoping the stylist’s mood is different on the actual wedding day — especially for one of the most photographed and emotionally important days of your life. My fiancée also requested two braids incorporated into her half-up bridal style, which is an extremely common bridal look. She was told that the request was “juvenile.” The final style instead used one braid and one twist, which looked visibly unbalanced and unlike the inspiration provided. To make matters worse, my fiancée’s curls began falling and frizzing within less than an hour of leaving the appointment, which further impacted our confidence in the longevity and quality of the styling. I completely understand that not every stylist/client pairing is the right fit and that every artist has their own aesthetic preferences. However, bridal services require professionalism, collaboration, and openness to feedback. We left feeling criticized for our preferences rather than supported in bringing our vision to life. I’m sharing this review simply so future brides can make an informed decision based on the experience we had.

For the future, being more direct and honest of your feelings in the moment can get you better results. I see now if I would’ve restarted your style this could’ve had a different outcome. However, I truly did my best to provide an upstanding experience, I also offered another trial to both of you for free once you sent an email requesting to cancel which I then received no response. I hope you both take care and have a great wedding. Thanks for your feedback

Makeup Trial
My experience with Jill was so amazing! It truly felt like having your best friend do your makeup (it was the first time we met). She is so incredibly kind and she made me feel super comfortable. I’m not someone that gets makeup done often, so she gave me a lot of guidance during the trial. 20/10 would recommend.

AH-MAZING!
Jillian was a superstar and helped make my now wife and I feel so beautiful on our special day! The trial is optional, but I highly recommend it as it is such a nice way to - of course see what your hair could be - but a great way to connect with Jillian and make another great memory on this journey to a great day! She is super nice, kind, patient and understanding!
