“The Mill was wonderful!!!! We got married here on 8/10/24. We met in Lancaster and wanted to get married in the area but neither of us lived there long and we currently live out of state, so we had no experience with venues or vendors in the area. Jen gave me a facetime tour instead! It looks exactly like the photos you see in reviews and even has a big beautiful upstairs level with brides & grooms suites for getting ready (and to serve as a rain plan area for cocktail hour) and a basement for catering to prep in. The Mill required very little extra decorations as the nature outside was beautiful and the Mill has some lights and garlands already hung inside. Pretty much all I had to add was my color flowers and signage. They also provided a list of vendors they recommend (but didn't require you to use). Being out of town, I chose to use mostly recommended ones since they were familiar with the Mill and they were all great as well! The Mill had plenty of parking and ADA friendly access for grandparents. We easily fit our 100 guests and a spacious dancefloor. Another favorite was the staircase for my entrance to the ceremony! There was so many great aspects to the Mill, I cannot recommend it enough!!!”

“This review has taken forever to write because there are so many wonderful things we want to say about Historic Ashland. When we first started venue hunting, we spent so much time trying to simply get responses to tour requests. We live over an hour from Wrightsville, and my mother lives two hours away, so trying to schedule a tour without being ignored for days by a venue was starting to seem nearly impossible. When we came across HA, we crossed our fingers and sent a message. We got a response before I could even lock my phone, and a tour scheduled in less than 5 minutes. And that basically describes how the rest of wedding planning went for us thanks to their detailed planning guide, which includes a list of preferred vendors, a rental guide for decorations, a timeline for the wedding day, and more. Leah and Amanda always made themselves available to answer any questions we had. From that moment until our wedding day in October 2024, we knew we were in good hands and couldn’t go wrong with the rest of the decisions we had to make. The property itself is stunning, and it was so nice to have various locations to utilize, from getting ready to all the different ceremony locations. Really our hardest decision was where to have the ceremony. We truly have HA to thank for our wedding planning process being so smooth. The entire HA team went above and beyond to make our wedding better than we could have ever imagined. You hear nightmares about how something always goes wrong on a wedding day. The HA team handled absolutely everything for us. All we had to do was show up. Not one thing went wrong. We still have guests texting us to talk about how beautiful the entire day was. “Hazelwood Weddings was only the second venue we visited and we knew before the end of our time there that it was where we wanted to get married! For starters the grounds are breathtaking and the structures are ready for every couple to add their own unique touches to. The property has two getting ready suites, parking for all guests, multiple ceremony spots to choose from, options for all different kinds of weather, includes all necessary furniture, and is accessible to all bodies. Hazelwood Weddings had everything we were looking for and more, but what sealed the deal for us was the interactions with the owners, Kate and Adam. Kate took us on our tour and was so prepared. She made everything about the wedding planning process feel easy. Kate was very informative but not pushy and assured us she was there to help and encouraged us to take our time in making our venue decision. Adam took care of business on the back end and was quick to respond to all our emails and also sent out friendly reminders for upcoming payments. As an added bonus, Hazelwood Weddings includes a coordination package with a planner from Blake Events. From them we were provided with a wedding planning checklist, a list of suggested vendors, and a portal to upload all contracts. At ninety days out, Emma took over putting together the timeline and coordinating with our caterer, baker, rental company, florist, officiant, dj, beauty services team, photographer, and transportation provider. She was in charge the day of and everything went smoothly and we felt no stress. Our dream of an autumunal sunset wedding filled with subtle nods to our nerdy interests was perfectly us and brought to reality thanks to Hazelwood Weddings. We could not recommend them enough!”

“If you are searching for somewhere to have the perfect outdoor wedding, look no further than Comus Farm. Lauren and Kara truly pulled out all the stops to make our wedding day unforgettable! In 2023, my husband and I were looking for wedding venues: we were very specifically looking for someplace that would not require a lot of decoration work, since we were planning the whole event ourselves. As soon as my husband and I arrived at Comus Farm, I said “this is it, I want to book this place.” The farm is located in pleasant countryside, and the farm itself has a very beautiful entrance through trees and sunny fields: many of our guests commented on how this made the drive from the off-site ceremony to the reception at the farm very enjoyable. We toured the rose garden, outdoor dining and dancing pavilions, and the large barn, all of which are airy and open, making it feel very welcoming. The farmhouse Airbnb was spacious, clean, and well decorated. Lauren and Kara were both so kind, and they provided a lot of information with us in our first meeting: we signed the contract about a week after seeing the place. Lauren and Kara used AislePlanner to help us get going with our wedding planning. The website is easy to use, and the provided checklist covered literally every single tiny detail you could possibly need to consider for the planning journey. I was especially pleased with the seating chart map, it made it so easy for us to track guest meals, stage table set up, and communicate special requests. It also prints out the layout really nicely if you need to send it to your catering company. Our wedding party stayed at the farmhouse Airbnb the night before and after the wedding. Everyone had a really fantastic time, there was more than enough space for the girls to get ready in the AM, and the food provided was delicious! During the reception, my grandparents enjoyed their dinner in the kitchen so they could get some quiet time and rest, but they were still close enough to the wedding so they could say hello to the guests and listen to the speeches happening in the dinner pavilion. I also cannot say enough about how much we appreciated Lauren and Kara’s thoughtfulness throughout the planning process and on the day. They patiently answered so many of our questions, and they allowed us to come by three separate times to see the farm and meet with our vendors. They coordinated the vendors without a hitch, and we didn’t have to worry about a single thing on the day of the wedding. Kara drove the two of us and our photographer out to more remote areas on the farm to get some portrait shots. Lauren coordinated some fun photos with the alpacas, which was a lot of fun! Comus Farm is truly a beautiful spot to have a wedding, complete with a team that made our day perfectly stress-free. I’ll definitely be looking for any other reason to book with them in the future :)”

When it rained on our wedding day, they were quick to accommodate and rearrange the setup so our guests could stay nice and dry inside the greenhouse. They also offered golf cart transportation, which our guests really appreciated. While their preferred vendor list had some great options, we ended up finding an amazing makeup artist that wasn't on their list. “We hosted our wedding reception at Rocklands Farm and I was so happy with the experience! The barn has a rustic elegant ambiance and the surrounding farm and winery is picturesque. Their “corn crib” was ideal for appetizers and a fire pit while guests arrived before being seated, and a bonfire made a great outdoor space for a November wedding. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our day was perfect. They worked seamlessly with the caterer Simply Fresh and our cake maker. Their day-of coordinator was great, keeping the timeline on schedule effortlessly. This was something I was very stressed about so having it go so smoothly was huge for me. Our photographer Jonalee Earles was able to set up lights etc. ahead of time. One unique aspect was the variety of table decor and signage provided, which I was able to look through and select ahead of time and which fit the ambiance beautifully. It looked amazing and took the pressure off us to bring our own decor. Rocklands made our wedding day truly special. I highly recommend it to any couple looking for a stress-free, gorgeous venue with great staff!”
