“Our original DJ had a family emergency and I reached out to Jeremy one week before our wedding. He was somehow available which was the greatest miracle of our wedding. We were so stressed and he immediately calmed us down and ended the call with "let's have a wedding!" Given the timing, we didn't have time for another call before the day. He had a comprehensive questionnaire that covered every situation we wanted a specific song for (including our cake cutting song) so another call was not needed and he did everything perfectly. He is extremely adaptable and stepped in so many times without needing to be asked (helping corral people for pictures). He followed every song we wanted (and didn't want), but also was able to nail the vibe when given vague directions (chill love songs during our cocktail hour). The best part was when we opened up the dance floor, my Fitbit logged me as doing "sport" for 2 hours straight at one point and I did over 10,000 steps just from dancing. He kept people dancing and people loved it, my wife and I both had multiple people tell us our wedding was the one of the best they had been to BECAUSE of the DJ. My favorite part was he genuinely loves what he does, you could see the joy on his face when he made a great transition between songs and that energy was infectious. “I am not sure I can sing enough praises for The Hook Club (okay, I'll let them do the singing). Every single communication we had with Dan, Jesse, and the rest of the band was professional, funny, and enjoyable - and that's certainly not something you can say about everyone. We booked THC back in March 2020 before the shutdown and they were so flexible and kind as we went through various reschedulings of our wedding. They are so well-prepared and thoughtful, really considerate of what you want and what you and your spouse imagine your wedding to be, and very clear on what they need from you. As it got closer to our date, Dan and Jesse were super communicative and when we ran into some issues with COVID causing our guest numbers to dwindle, they were our own little hype team, telling us that they'd be sure we had a good time even with fewer guests. I'm not sure I ever told them how much it meant to me to have their reassurances during that time. I have known from the moment I got engaged that I wanted a live band at my wedding and truly, we could not have found a better one. My parents were skeptical of a large live band, but when my husband and I went to that first THC showcase, we knew from that moment that they were the band for us. We promised our family and friends a good time, and we followed through. Our guests were astonished, literally jaws dropping all over the place as the band got going. My parents' faces were incredible to behold and my sometimes-curmudgeonly dad was grinning from ear-to-ear all night and kept telling me for days after how great THC was. I got so many comments about the musicianship, the energy, and how incredibly fun they were. Multiple people told me it felt like we were at a concert - which it totally did! They got everyone engaged in the dancing, playing music that guests of all ages could enjoy, and engaged with everyone down on the dance floor and really made it feel like a million people were there, which was important to me. I could really ramble on forever at how incredible they were, but I'll just sum it up to say that they were the life of the party and I am so thankful. I'll also add that we had a solo guitar for the ceremony and solo piano for the cocktail hour and that was just absolutely perfect. Each individual member of the band is extraordinarily talented, so whatever combination of musicians you go with will be incredible. I cannot recommend The Hook Club enough - I wish I could give ten stars. Every moment of working with them was a pleasure and I feel so lucky. Thank you a million times over!”

One. of our guests said how amazing he was, and I still have friends and family talking about it, years later. Prior to the actual day, he did a great job of following up, walking us through his planning app to help us figure things out, and was extra responsive and detailed. He really guided us with timing and flow, and had great suggestions for when we were stumped. I never felt worried about a thing, from first contact, up through the end of the reception. We had Marty run our ceremony and reception - basically everything that had anything to do with sound. Honestly, I don't know how he did it. He did the ceremony space - playing acoustic guitar, our specific recorded songs, and all the mics... the music, vows, officiant, toasts, etc. all sounded perfect. He also did all the reception; he MC'd, played guitar, learned & played our first dance song live, DJ'd, and coordinated everything so well - again, I do NOT know how he made it all work so well with all those hats he wore. We also brought in a musician from our hometown, and Marty was able to get us a piano, set him up, and worked so well with him that they actually played songs together during cocktail hour.. it was BEYOND perfect. In conclusion -- if you have ANY doubts, please do yourself a favor and THROW THEM OUT THE WINDOW. Marty is professional, SUPER talented, very experienced, kind, and ridiculously fun.”

I investigated each Mariachi band here in NYC, their quality as musicians, social media, reviews etc. Many mariachi bands stated, "they are the best" or "Number 1 in NEW YORK CITY", but I can assure you all from looking at their YouTube performances & social medias that they are NOT. A few did play back, had a CD recording of an actual PROFESSIONAL band in the background while these so called "Best in NYC" made it seem as if it was them performing, FALSE advertisement. Once I saw Mariachi Hidalgo NYC, directed person with a B.A in Music & History. (Having a degree in any accredited field is one way to ensure the person knows what they are offering.) I investigated everything about this ensemble before contacting. YouTube , Instagram, all their social medias in order to understand whom I was calling. After checking out everything, proper technique on their instruments and vocals, no play back, presentable, quality musicians. I knew this band was going to be AMAZING! From the moment I called to book them until the performance's date this is what I received. A very professional service to not just me but my husband and guests as well. Very detailed in terms of explaining the full booking process, punctual, proper technique on their instruments & voice, an amazing show that interacts with the crowd. This band had it all! Everyone loved it! Visual Aspect:/ Performance Technical playing, clean suits, well groomed, presentable. 100/100 If you are looking for a mediocre or an economical option or a group to just make noise regardless of how they sound. Then I would not recommend this band for your event. If, however, you are looking for a PROFESSIONAL band to make your special moments even more memorial. Then YES, I recommend this band too you, Mariachi Hidalgo NYC! You will not be disappointed. Overall: Quality, Punctual, Presentable, Professional, Show/Performance, Amazing service from start to finish. Mariachi Hidalgo was founded in 2017 and is led by our Musical Director Hernan Hidalgo Treviño who is a first-generation musician within his family. At the age of 21, Hernan is New York City’s, as well as the East Coast’s, 1st ever “Youngest Musical Director of a Mariachi Band”. Hernan graduated from the CUNY of Hunter College as a Music and History major to better prepare himself for both the musical and culture of mariachi. Within the first 2 years, Mariachi Hidalgo has performed in some of New York's exclusive places.
