Keane’s Wood-Fired Catering was founded by husband and wife team, Padraic and Kaylyn Keane. Padraic grew up working in his parents’ village pub in Galway, Ireland and moved to the United States in 2015 where he became fascinated with traditional southern barbecue. Padraic welded his first wood-fired smoker at the Steel Yard in Providence and Keane’s held their first catered event at Whalers Brewing in South Kingstown in 2016. Since then Keane’s has continued to build a reputation for exceptional food and service.

“Keane’s was absolutely amazing! The food was beyond delicious. I’ve been to so many weddings where I can’t even remember the food, but I had been to two weddings catered by them prior to mine and their food stuck with me. I knew I had to have them for my own wedding, and they did not disappoint. One of the best parts was that they also provided an event coordinator. Alicia, my day of coordinator, was incredible! She was in touch with me months before the wedding, answering every single one of my questions, and on the day of she made everything run so smoothly. From the ceremony to the reception, she had everything perfectly organized, and I never had to stress. The catering staff was professional, attentive, and truly wonderful. They set up, cleaned up, and cleaned made sure everything was flawless. Our friends and family are still raving about how amazing the food was. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!”

“We loved our experience with Island Time. Our guests raved about the food, which is what matters, but on top of that, the drinks were amazing, and the staff was incredible and so kind. They did end up being about a half-hour later than we initially agreed upon, and one of our upgrades as far as a second choice for meals was forgotten, but once we reached out about it, they responded immediately, and we were refunded right away. Even with this, I would not hesitate to book them again for any future function.”

“I loved loved loved our experience with Comeketo catering for our wedding. Right from the start the service through Eduarda was impeccable. She went above and beyond every step of the way. I cannot say enough good things about her. And even if the food was average I probably would still recommended Comeketo just based on service alone but the food was fantastic. We did two tastings with them, as the food at our wedding was one of the most important things to us and we wanted to curate the perfect menu. Our guests were a good mix of different ethnicities and age groups and they all raved about the food. They also worked with me to create a custom grazing table and our guests loved that too! I just wish I had more photos of the rest of the food. I I will surely be using them for all our catering events!”

“We cannot recommend Tailgate Gourmet highly enough! They catered both our welcome party and our wedding reception over 4th of July weekend, and they absolutely knocked it out of the park. We actually attended their complimentary tasting before booking, and we knew right away they were the perfect fit. The food was incredible, the team was knowledgeable and welcoming, and we left feeling completely confident in our decision. For our reception, they created the most amazing summer menu — grilled lobster, pulled pork, beef kabobs, chicken kabobs, mashed potatoes, and Caesar salad — and every single item was outstanding. The lobster felt so festive for the holiday weekend, and the barbecue favorites were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Our guests are still talking about how delicious everything was! The night before, they also handled our welcome party beautifully and set the tone for the entire weekend. We had wanted steamers (which isn’t on the regular menu) and they were able to make it happen! Everything was fresh, wonderfully presented, and executed flawlessly. Beyond the food, their team was professional, organized, and so easy to work with throughout the planning process. John was there every step of the way to answer questions and make sure the menu was exactly what we wanted. “I don’t usually take the time to write reviews, but after my experience with Maison D Events and Hospitality, I felt like they truly deserved one. From the first conversation all the way through the end of the event, everything was handled with so much professionalism, care, and attention to detail. Planning an event can be stressful, especially when you’re trying to make sure the food, setup, timing, and overall experience come together the way you imagined. The team at Maison D made the entire process feel so much easier. They listened to what we wanted, communicated with us throughout the process, and were very accommodating when it came to the little details that mattered to us. The food was honestly one of the highlights of the event. Everything tasted fresh, was seasoned really well, and the presentation was beautiful. Our guests kept talking about how good the food was, and several people even asked who catered the event. The portions were great, everything came out looking professional, and you could tell that they actually take pride in what they serve. What impressed me just as much as the food was the service. The staff was friendly, respectful, attentive, and professional without making things feel stiff or overly formal. “I cannot recommend Soraya (and her team)’s catering more enthusiastically, for any event but especially if you are looking for cuisine that isn’t your typical banquet fare. When my wife and I first started planning our wedding, we agreed that delicious and personal were our top priorities for food. We’d had so many wedding meals that were *nice* - lovely service and presentation - but kind of boring and uninspired. We love to feed our friends good food that they can’t easily make or get elsewhere and wanted to reflect that in our wedding. We agree that the North African food I’d grown up eating is the best cuisine on earth and we wanted to serve that, but worried that a wedding caterer couldn’t do it justice and we might have to navigate the hassle or no-frills approach of working with a restaurant that doesn’t really do weddings. Thankfully, we’d found an incredible wedding planner (Rachel of One Bell Designs) who assured us no compromise was necessary, because she knew just the caterer. When she shared the vast menu for SYB Events I was still a little bit skeptical, since while I saw some intriguing dishes there was still a lot of the usual wedding fare—but then I googled Soraya’s name and found the Soraya Events site with its more focused menus, and knew we had to meet with her. And we didn’t talk to any other caterers after that, because Soraya heard the vision and met each of our ideas with her own. We asked about a number of my favorites we hadn’t seen on her menus and she affirmed she could provide them with absolute confidence, and she was more than happy to tailor the service and timing to fit our very particular vision. One of my favorite things about working with Soraya was the at-home tasting she arranged and dropped off at our house (with a complimentary bottle of wine!), which fed us for most of a week and affirmed with dish after delicious dish that we’d made the perfect choice. When it came to the wedding day, she and her team seamlessly worked with Rachel’s to set up a kitchen in our unequipped venue. Soraya’s timing was incredible; she turned up at the exact moments we needed sustenance bearing coffee, hors d’oeuvres, and full plates when we arrived at the sweetheart table that were still hot. From the iced coffee welcome with cardamom and rose water syrups to the mezze spread reception to the couscous and tagines and kofta at the buffet, every bite was delicious and distinctly North African. We lost count of the number of guests who told us it was the best wedding food they’d ever had! My slightly jaded heart really didn’t expect our wedding to feel as special as it did, and Soraya was a huge part of that—we are so grateful!”
