“They need a 10-star rating! So, I was on TikTok looking for bridal shower places when I stumbled upon this beauty. So, I asked my fiancé at the time, if you know me then what you know about this place? He said, you like it because it has all those crystals and chandeliers! I instantly hit the contact us button. I began communicating with Pura who was very personable. I said OK let me go look at these reviews. I went on every page I knew that had reviews and they were 5-star no complaints. I said well let me book to go see it in person because pictures can be deceiving. We scheduled a tour of the event and when I tell you this place can't be touched with a 10 foot pole. I have not found a Venue yet that can TOP this one. From the time you walk in, to the ballrooms, the best dressing area and even the bathrooms are so clean you can eat off the food (not that you would but that's how clean and neat the place is). Pura thanks for all the phone messages day or night one thing for sure she was never too busy to get back with me. She was very accommodating. Farah the decor was gorgeous. Andrea thanks for pulling things together as the coordinator alongside Pura. Every time I visited; they made you feel welcomed. My family talked about the level of hospitality that you all provided at the rehearsal and wedding. They made sure all my vendors were in place to take the stress off of me on my wedding day. The overall service gives you royal and rich vibes.”

“The Hyatt did an amazing job of bringing my dream wedding into fruition. Every detail was thoughtfully tailored to exactly what we wanted from the drinks to the amazing sundae bar to the delicious food. The room was beautiful, elegant, and spacious! The communication was timely, efficient, detailed, and helpful. The wedding coordinators were amazing! Cristine did an outstanding job of making sure my wedding was perfect and just how I imagined It. I loved working with her. She was out of town on the date of my wedding but clearly communicated well with her coworker because Nicole was also an amazing coordinator. There was a misunderstanding with my dj and they didn’t have a book for my Photo Booth photos and it was clear my dj was not going to help make it right. But Nicole went to a nearby cvs and picked up an album to bring my dream to fruition. I could not have been happier using the Hyatt and I would use them again in the future. Their price was the most reasonable and their food, service, and space was impeccable. I highly recommend the Hyatt for your wedding or event.”

“Our experience with Marriott Fairview Park started out rough. The initial point of contact we worked with was slow to respond, a bit short in their communication style, and overall not great. It wasn't until their director stepped in and made us feel more confident and appreciated in using this venue for our wedding reception. She was quick to respond and made sure we felt stress-free the day of. Additionally, our day-of contact was great throughout the entire process and on the day of the reception itself. Very helpful, attentive, and overall pleasant to work with. The venue itself was great but there were some low points. The tablecloths (white) didn't seem well ironed and two of them looked dirty. We had to flip one the night before and rearrange others to cover some of the blemishes. Without a doubt, Prasha and Corky were the ONLY reason we are giving this an overall 5 because they themselves were A problem solvers who made us feel heard and supported. The price felt fair and everyone loved the food (in-house catering). We would recommend this to others as long as you have Prasha and Corky on your team, otherwise, your mileage may vary.”

“On April 13, 2024, we held our wedding and reception at the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center. During the planning of our wedding, we worked with Amy, Sonia, and finally Katherine to create our ideal day. All were very pleasant, knowledgeable, flexible and accommodating with our arrangements, and were very responsive answering numerous questions that we had. The wedding set up was exactly as discussed and the transition from outdoor to indoor on the day of the wedding (way too windy a day for an outdoor ceremony) was seamless, thanks to the wonderful staff! The reception area, bar, and food was set up exactly as had been discussed and the food was delicious! All of the guests commented on how wonderful the food and staff were. Staff also was very helpful with connecting our music through the hotel's WIFI system. We were even given a room for dressing and preparing for the ceremony. The atmosphere was very relaxed and professional (but not stuffy) and we never felt rushed or anxious about any of the arrangements. The amount owed was exactly what we had been told so there were no surprises there. Overall, it was a perfect day and the staff and facilities at the Marriott couldn't have been any better. I would not hesitate to hold any future events there, knowing the kind attention paid to every detail to make every event special.”

“My husband and I got married in December '24 and had a great experience with the Sheraton Pentagon City. The hotel is really close to DCA so it was super easy for our guests to book AND the rate was AMAZING. Having a wedding so close to the holidays made travel much more expensive so having a hotel that was so reasonably priced was such a HUGE win. There was some construction in the surrounding area but none of our guests had anything negative to say about it, so if you see this don't be concerned. The stunning view from the ballroom spoke for itself! We worked most closely with John and Christian but the Sheraton team was huge and we met many different people responsible for our event. They are a well oiled machine so you don't need to worry about what happens if someone gets sick or is stuck in traffic on your big day! The rooms were lovely, with stunning views of all of DC! Overall I would HIGHLY recommend having your wedding here :)”

“Our recent wedding at the Friends Meeting of Washington (near Dupont Circle) was the best possible choice of venue we could make. The staff was helpful, professional, caring, and did all they could to make our day run smoothly. It was lovely to hold the ceremony, reception, and the dancing in one venue. Their beautiful, light-fillled Meeting House space on the second floor well accommodated our very large group of family and friends, and their newly renovated courtyard made it possible to hold the reception and dinner outdoors. We danced indoors on the first floor. It was memorable to me, my beloved, and my family members that I could be married in the same room where my family attended Quaker meeting in the 1960's, where my father's memorial service was held in the mid 'seventies, and where I attended services regularly when I was a young working woman in the 1980's. Many thanks to Brian Luttenegger, Genevi Schindehutte , and the FMW community for all you did to make our wedding day so memorable.”

“As soon as we stepped into Rose Hill Manor we knew it would be the perfect venue for our wedding. We got so many compliments on how beautiful the space was. The ballroom was perfect for the reception and the outdoor patio was beautiful for the ceremony. Everything was exactly how we had imagined it. The planning process went smoothly because we utilized a lot of The Manors preferred vendors. All of our vendors were incredible and knew the space well which was a huge plus. Kristin our day of/month of planner with the venue did an excellent job answering all of the questions that came up and was very honest about how some things would work on the day which was much appreciated. Kristin also ensured that the day itself went very smoothly. Thank you so much for making our vision come true!”

Overlooking the White House at the top of the National Press Building, the Club has a wonderful atmosphere, terrific food, and excellent service.

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Best for events with big guest lists

“What initially made us go with the National Press Club was that much of the most complicated aspects of putting a wedding together are available in-house. You deal with one person who asks the right questions up front, assesses your wants and needs and manages every detail from that point forward. If you’re planning your first wedding (like we were), it’s likely you’re already getting overwhelmed by the realization of how many critical details go into a successful wedding. However, at The Press Club: Reception Catering: Check. Cocktail hour catering: Check. Bar: Check. Tables / chairs / linens / etc. Check. Dance floor: Check. Audio Visual technician: Check. Alphabetizing your table place cards. Check. And so on and so on. All we needed to do was hire a deejay, a wedding photographer, a bakery for the wedding cake and the florist. And on the day of the wedding, the NPC staff took care of getting our vendors in and out and dealing with unexpected logistical issues, which there always are with any large events. The pricing was transparent and the estimate on the banquet order was what we paid. Ok, those are the practical reasons the NPC was a great choice. Now for the aesthetics. The Press Club is quintessential Washington, DC classy. They have multiple rooms that one can rent to customize your wedding experience. Our ceremony took place in the Holeman Lounge which flowed into the First Amendment Lounge, where we had our cocktail hour. The First Amendment Lounge offers stunning views of DC, including the Washington Monument and the east wing of the White House. Our reception took place in The Ballroom. We also had a room for our vendors to stage and a private space for us and the wedding party, which was such a nice touch. Many of our wedding guests were in awe of the NPC. It feels very exclusive and so many of them took the opportunity to take pictures of themselves at the Press Club podium and selfies with the luminaries and historical figures adorning the walls throughout. The service: This is where the National Press Club really stands out. We were blessed to have Renee managing the process from beginning to end. We can’t stress enough the amazing service she provided. She went through every detail with us. Twice just to make sure she captured everything correctly down to how we wanted the napkins folded. Two months before the wedding she put together the most beautiful food tasting experience for us. Before locking in our menu, we tasted a number of appetizers that would be served during cocktail hour as well as the dinner options and desserts. We also tasted a variety of wines. All in all, it was a preview of how fantastic our reception would be, with both the food and the service. The day of, Renee and David took fabulous care of us and our guests. Both really went above and beyond of what we could possibly imagine. During our rehearsal the day before, Renee noticed the wedding party was struggling a little to get the timing of the processional right and she jumped in and helped with our timing and ended up cueing us as to when to start walking the actual day. All of this combined to make our wedding a fabulous experience with zero stress. As positive as this review is, it falls hopelessly short of conveying just how wonderful our experience was.”

“When I first arrived on the property to look at it, it was breathtaking so beautiful and so well kept, and obviously Lauren and Kara were so kind and sweet and so attentive to every single one of my requests and details. Fast-forward to wedding weekend, I had Kara and Lauren on speed dial if I needed anything and they were so helpful for any tiny request. I needed for my wedding party and family. The property is absolutely stunning. My wedding party and I stayed in the farmhouse the entire weekend from rehearsal dinner to a brunch on that Sunday and my friends, and I had the time of our lives. It was so accommodating to have family come from out of state. Be able to stay on the property in a nearby Airbnb that houses 20 people! I wasn’t worried about hotels, driving and transporting people or potentially having them drinking and driving. It was so nice to just be there the entire time. My friends and family have said that it was one of the best weddings that they have ever been to and I can concur that was the best wedding ever. I cannot recommend this place enough if you live in Maryland or nearby or somewhere on the East Coast or looking to do a destination wedding. This is your place to do it!!! I wish I could relive my wedding weekend. It was so magical and perfect and I could not have asked for anything more. Thank you Comus farms!”
