As the first school of higher education available to women in Washington, D.C., Mount Vernon Seminary and College played an important role in promoting women's education. Today, GW's campus honors the heritage of its founders with a unique blend of historic charm and modern amenities. Hand Chapel is a luminous, award-winning space nestled among 39 dogwood trees, perfect for weddings, banquets, receptions or rehearsals dinners. Post Hall features antique furnishings, hardwood floors, and a scenic terrace. Ideal for hosting wedding receptions, this venue blends historic charm with versatile functionality.
