We recently had our wedding at Suisun Valley Inn, and overall, it was a beautiful and memorable experience. One of the biggest highlights was being able to use the venue for three full days, which gave us extra time to relax and connect with our bridal party and loved ones. That extended access truly made a difference in how special the weekend felt. However, there were a few challenges that did impact our plans. The event barn, which was a key part of our original vision, was unfortunately not finished in time for our wedding. While we understand this was out of the owner’s control, we were disappointed that we were not refunded the full 2,000 deposit, especially since the change affected nearly every aspect of our day. Additionally, when we arrived, we were surprised to find the vineyard had been plowed without any prior notice. This forced another last-minute adjustment to our setup so we wouldn’t be facing a dirt lot. It would have been really helpful to have been told about that in advance. Despite these hiccups, the venue itself has so much potential and charm, and we did have a lovely wedding. I just hope some of these experiences can help future couples plan better or spark a few improvements from the venue for the future.

My husband and I were engaged in October 2023 and began looking at wedding venues the month after. We then finalized our booking with Redwood Canyon in January 2024 to give ourselves ample time for planning and financing for our big day on May 26th, 2025. Since we live on the East Coast and majority of our families reside in the Bay Area, we wanted to find a venue that could provide an all-inclusive package and bring our vision to reality - and Redwood Canyon checked all of those boxes... even going above and beyond. We are very happy with the entire process that led up to our special day and the outcome of our wedding. *1 year prior to the wedding* They kept us updated with some of the renovations they were making at the time. When we wanted to do a physical tour in June 2024, they fitted us into the schedule and showed us the actual colors of table cloths, napkins, lighting, etc. *8 months prior to the wedding* The wedding team sent us an invitation to the Fall Wedding Extravaganza Fair for late October 2024. We unfortunately couldn't make it, but they accommodated us by including our friend couple residing in the Bay Area to take over our place. Our friend couple FaceTimed us during the entire event to make us feel like we were there! They commented how it was nice to try out all the food options they had in the package to know what foods the couple would like to finalize for their wedding day. They also enjoyed the fun activities the DJ curated - there were two opportunities to win a prize from those activities. *5 months prior to the wedding* This was a two-hour call with the wedding team to go over our vision and details. I forgot the name of the person assisting us, but she was very patient and fun to talk with! She reassured us that if there were changes we'd like to make over the next few months, they'd be happy to accommodate. A few months later, vendors contacted us to further discuss additional details - officiant, cake, DJ, and florist. *1 week prior to the wedding* We had Jacoby as our amazing wedding coordinator and Ana to assist on our special day. They reviewed and confirmed details as well as what to expect on our Rehearsal Day, which was a day prior to our wedding. We loved their positive attitudes and professionalism throughout the process! *Wedding Day* Despite how fast and chaotic it felt, we truly appreciate Jacoby and Ana for keeping us on the right pace, consistently checking in with us, and making sure we were happy and comfortable throughout the day. If there was something I, my husband, our wedding party, and family needed, they were quick to provide it. They also knew where to put our decor and took some behind-the-scenes photos to share with us after our wedding. We had our photographer, Hayden from A Perfect Impression, who suggested all the right poses, shots, angles, and places to take our photos. Our DJ, Saul, was very accommodating with a song request and some changes that we communicated through email and text - the vibe of the ceremony and reception was perfect. The food was fantastic, the photobooth provided high-quality images that we could receive through a texted link. *Overall* If we could rate it more than 5 stars, we totally would! We are truly happy that we chose Redwood Canyon for our wedding - an amazing and friendly team with a beautiful venue that accommodated 80 of our guests!

We can't say enough good things about Sequoyah Country Club. Andrea and Sally are the most attentive, responsive, professional, and kind venue coordinators out there. Our wedding was a beautiful success because of them and the SCC staff. They know how to host a wedding -- and it shows. We valued their expertise every step of the way. They've hosted so many weddings that they had great suggestions and solutions to every single thing that came up. Their recommended vendors list is valuable and we used it to hire our great day of coordinator. The venue is beautiful and well cared for inside and out. It shows in our pictures. All of the chairs, linens, glassware, cake stands, etc. were in great condition. The building and grounds are lovely so we didn't need excessive decorations or flowers. We don't live locally and planned the wedding from across the country -- it wasn't an issue with how well organized SCC is. It rained the night before our wedding and was unexpectedly a little colder than we anticipated -- Andrea and Sally helped us adjust our day of plans-- we kept the ceremony outside but moved cocktail hour inside with only a couple hour notice -- no one was stressed, they took care of it all. We had 150 people for an outdoor ceremony and indoor dinner and dancing. Lastly -- we were very happy with the pricing (so many things are included, and if they aren't already included, they're happy to arrange just about anything else!). We felt every single dollar was well spent. We can't recommend the venue enough -- the biggest thank you to Andrea, Sally, and the SCC staff.

I had my wedding here at Fairview Metropolitan and it was the MOST AMAZING DAY EVER! For starters Angela Muse helped us from start to finish on planning our day and every little detail in between! She was amazing to work with, she was clear, communicative, friendly and organized which is everything you want when you are planning your wedding! When I arrived at my reception I was blown away by the decor and how beautiful every detail was! Thank you so much Angela for all of your hard work and support in making my dream reception!!! The vendors that are connected to Fairview that I opted into having was DJ Keel and Ting at Montclair Florist. DJ Keel was a phenomenal MC and met with us ahead of time to get an idea of how we wanted our wedding MC'd as well as what we wanted our music to be like and let me tell you he achieved it!!! My guests were laughing, entertained and raving about the music all night! Thank you Dj Keel! I coordinated with Ting from Montclair Florist and although we did not talk much I have to say my bouquet and center pieces were the most beautiful flower arrangements I have ever seen! The flowers were stunning and she ran with the ideas I had and made it the most beautiful arrangement ever!! My guests were raving about the food and we were so supported by KeeKee our Banquet Manager! She checked in on us and made sure we were good throughout our reception! Book with Fairview you will not regret it the venue is beautiful and open, the tented pavilion is gorgeous, the food is delicious and the staff are phenomenal!!! San Ramon Waters By Wedgewood Weddings was a stunning venue for our wedding, but we did experience some minor communication issues that caused a bit of stress at the start of the day. The space itself was truly breathtaking, with its amazing new upgrades and beautiful views. However, there were a few details that weren't properly communicated to us, which led to a bit of a rocky start. Although my bridal party and I had lots to deal with prior to ceremony start, these issues were not something our guests would have seen/noticed. To their credit, the Wedgewood team acknowledged their mistakes and upgraded our bar package to make up for it. Overall, the venue was beautiful and the staff did their best to ensure our day went smoothly, despite the initial hiccups. We would recommend San Ramon Waters to other couples looking for a gorgeous wedding location.

We are so happy we went with Chabot Space and Science Center for our wedding. We wanted something unique that also aligned with our interests -- our background in physics, astronomy, and space. The staff at Chabot are incredibly kind and were quick to respond to our emails and questions. The space was incredibly expansive and unique for our guests. The planetarium ceremony was our favorite part, and we will treasure those memories forever. As an educator myself, I fully appreciate that Chabot is a non-profit organization and that my deposit/rental fee goes back to the community and staff. Thank you again for making our day so special!

We had a wonderful wedding - the Wedgewood team helped us create a meaningful ceremony and reception. The pictures online do not do this place justice - you have to see it for yourself! The grounds are beautiful; we had our ceremony at the pavilion and our reception in the garden area / in their indoor hall area. The venue definitely felt like a fairy / cottage core dream to me! Wedgewood also vendors that work with them and provide really excellent services - florals, music, cakes. If you want to have an awesome wedding and reduce your stress, I would check this place out.

We will forever remember our gorgeous Oakland wedding at the Terrace Room. This venue highlights the beauty of Oakland, especially at night. It’s absolutely stunning. Candi (the event coordinator) was super sweet and worked with us faithfully, even through two COVID-19 postponements. After hearing about all the horrors couples went through with unaccommodating venues, Terrace Room made it easy to stick it out with them to have the wedding we originally wanted. Their food is fantastic as well! We keep getting compliments on it from our guests to this day. Choosing Terrace Room meant knocking out many to-do’s off our wedding planning list, as they provide a lot of services in their pricing. Speaking of price, this place can’t be beat. You get a lot for your money. Take a look at their preferred vendor list as well, they have some winners! Thank you eternally to Candi and Terrace Room for hosting the most beautiful night of our lives.

We loved how beautiful the setup is. The ceremony outside was so nice. The Redwood Hall is also so gorgeous for photos and fun for dancing. We also really liked the cocktail area. We got an animal ambassador and guests had fun seeing the ferret and kestrel. We got nothing but compliments related to how fun the venue was. We are so happy we chose this place for our wedding. Light from the floor-to-ceiling windows warms the redwood paneling and suffuses the Hall in a golden glow. Two charming smaller spaces are also available for functions. Held a welcome party / meet and greet for the family and friends before our wedding at Tipsy Putt in Emeryville. Great centralized venue for the party, and The Trophy Club space was gorgeous with plenty of room to chat and catch up. Friendly and accommodating staff, good food, and even better drinks! Everyone loved the games. 1-2 Putt was the big equalizer- my friends who can't golf wound up beating my friends who golf twice a week. All in all a great time.

The gardens at Heather farms was everything we were looking for in a venue. We wanted outdoors with lots of plant life, a reception space that was not a barn, fairytale vibes, ability to choose our own vendors, have a full bar, plenty of time at the venue to have the day of our dreams, and LGBTQ friendly. The gardens delivered all of this and was well within our budget. As a lesbian couple it was very important to us to find a venue and vendors that felt like supportive allies and from our first meeting with GHF we felt very welcome. We also loved that the only vendor they had a preferred list for was catering (the list had many great options and we were very happy with our choice), this allowed us to ensure that all of our other vendors we hired were also allies or members of the queer community. They were great to work with and everything went so smooth the day-of. It was also stunning, the rose gardens feel so magical and I loved that we didn’t need to worry about much decor for the ceremony space. Everything was beautifully in bloom even in mid-October. If I could go back and do it over again I would still choose to get married at the gardens in a heartbeat! Another thing we love is that it’s open to the public when it is not closed for private events, so leading up to our wedding we spent a lot of time visiting just because! We took my mom there for a Mother’s Day picnic and also went with friends. I can’t wait to return as newlyweds again and again.

Domenico Winery was the perfect venue for our wedding celebration. We struggled with finding a venue that was both close to where we lived, fit the number of guests we wanted while also fitting within our price range & the 'vibe' we were going for, but then in came Domenico (right under our noses!) From the very beginning, their communication was prompt, clear, and very open with any questions/customizations we wanted, which made the planning process seamless. They do require at a minimum a day of planner to help ensure the wedding day goes smoothly, and I'm so glad they did as between the venue coordination and wedding planner, I didn't have much to worry about the day of! The industrial, winery-inspired space had a modern and elegant feel that perfectly suited our vision. The staff went above and beyond to make us and our loved ones feel welcome and special, incorporating so many of the unique touches we wanted. The wedding food was amazing, we are still getting compliments from our family members about how Domenico's catering was some of the best wedding food they have ever had (chilean sea bass & short ribs were top hits)! Domenico's preferred vendors list was large & we found excellent vendors to work with (including our photographer & planner) through their recommendations. We were thrilled with how our wedding day turned out and are so grateful to the Domenico team (Karla, Aaron & everyone else!) for helping to make it an unforgettable experience. Would highly, highly recommend an event or wedding here, especially if you are SF Peninsula/Silicon Valley based and looking for a cool, local spot!

We had our wedding at Shadelands Ranch Museum in 2018 and couldn't have been happier with our decision! We had a few parameters to work within — a tight budget, a list of vendors we wanted to work with, and a large guest count. The staff at Shadelands were incredibly accommodating and easy to partner with. Since their policy allows food trucks and other mobile caterers, we were able to hire one of our favorite local BBQ restaurants to cater, which was a huge hit. The venue grounds are large enough to fit a sizeable group — perfect for our guests who brought children — they had plenty of room to run around on the lawn. In the summer, the venue adds string lights in the trees around their gazebo, creating a beautiful and romantic touch when the sun sets. The gazebo served as a beautiful centerpiece and the location for our photo booth. Our DJ had plenty of space to set up on the back patio, which doubled as the dance floor. The venue’s accessibility was incredible, with ample parking, clean restrooms, a kitchen, and a porch for the bride to ‘hide’ until the ceremony. And because the venue provided the tables and chairs, we only needed to rent table linens. Shadelands is the place to book if you want a beautiful and affordable outdoor wedding venue in Walnut Creek that can accommodate both your ceremony and reception.
