Walnut Hall Estate has EVERYTHING (and I do mean everything!) you need for a stress free wedding weekend. I've had three daughters get married since 2019 and I've explored LOTS of venues in the process of helping choose each one... Walnut Hall beats the rest by a landslide. You just cannot find the number of amenities offered HERE, anywhere else, and it makes Walnut Hall my "forever pick" for the best place to hold a wedding! To start... you have the use of not ONE but FOUR separate areas (not to mention the beautiful "grounds" which include an old silo, koi pond, tree swing, firepit patios, outdoor light strings, etc). The most standout feature is the huge brick turn-of-the-century home that is dripping with character and photo "ops". The house truly can sleep a LOT of guests and it is very tastefully decorated. It even includes a "grooms quarters" in the basement complete with couch/tv and poker/pool tables. You have the Ceremony (former Dairy) Barn which comes complete with beautiful chandeliers and seating in the form of traditional pews as well as individual (nice) chairs. There are concrete sidewalks that link the Ceremony Barn with the Reception Venue (the white barn with huge wood doors). The reception area has absolutely everything including mens/womens restrooms, kitchen, bar, DJ area, greenery wall (which is a perfect backdrop for a dessert table). They have enough tables and chairs to seat a very large guest list (ours seated over 300 VERY comfortably!). There are long rustic wood tables for the head table (my daughter's head table seated 18!) With such a gorgeous space, MINIMAL decor is needed. The cherry on top was the ADDITIONAL guest house (which is where my daughter and her new husband spent their first night as husband and wife... wink wink:) Though it could have ALSO been a perfect place for parents/grandparents as it has two bedrooms, living room, full kitchen, etc. Add to this the fact that Brittany & Bobby (owners) were both attentive as well as AMAZING to work with and you have a combination for everything an event venue SHOULD be, but oftentimes is not! This is their passion and it shows. Due to having use of the property for the entire weekend, not only were we able to start decorating on Friday (important when you have a 20' U-Haul filled to the brim) AND we were able to host the Rehearsal Dinner "on site", which was huge in that we could "rehearse" and then just steps away have the beautiful meal, catered by The Brass Door (local restaurant who are pro's at providing services at Walnut Hall). The girls had a "girls night" in the big house on Friday and then the entire wedding party stayed on Saturday. Directly across the street is the Greene County Fairgrounds (with electric/water for anyone who might want to pull in a camper for the weekend) as well as several very nice VRBO's in the town of Carrollton. I simply could not find ONE THING that could have made our daughter's wedding any better and we are ETERNALLY grateful for that. If you're on the fence... let this help you decide...as I was not compensated in ANY WAY for this review... just a mom & dad who were 100% satisfied...you will be too! Hopefully I can come back, when we've gotten the photographer's pictures back, and post photos!

We recently hosted a baby shower at OH Banquets, and I cannot recommend this venue enough! From the moment we started planning, Greg was absolutely wonderful to work with. He was incredibly helpful, professional, and made the entire process so smooth. His attention to detail and willingness to accommodate our requests truly set the tone for a fantastic experience. Greg made us feel confident that everything would go perfectly, and it absolutely did. The space itself is stunning and full of charm. The historic feel of The Grand Opera House, combined with its modern updates, created the perfect backdrop for our event. The layout is versatile and comfortably accommodated all our guests, allowing for both mingling and seating during the event. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and you can tell great care has gone into preserving the character of this unique venue. Another huge plus is the location. Being on Historic Main Street in St. Charles was such a treat! After the baby shower, many of our guests took advantage of the unique shopping options and quaint charm of downtown. It was great knowing we were just steps away from boutique stores, restaurants, and even the Ameristar Casino for those wanting to explore further. I’m so glad we chose OH Banquets for this special occasion. The combination of the beautiful space, convenient location, and Greg’s amazing support made it an unforgettable day. If you’re looking for a venue with character, elegance, and outstanding service, this is the place!

My wedding was held at Woods Fort on the golf course and we used the clubhouse for our reception. Everyone from start to finish was seamless. The food was excellent, the decor was pretty and the price was very reasonable. Jamie did an amazing job keeping us on time, keeping us happy and our guests and making sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend!

The Larimore was the perfect venue for my nieces wedding celebration. From the moment we first inquired, their communication was always quick and responsive. The venue itself is beautiful, with multiple locations on site that allowed them to have their ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in different spaces. We wanted to use their floating candles in the fountain, and they were happy to accommodate that request. When we needed to come up with an alternative plan for hanging a curtain in the reception hall, their on-site coordinator, Hailey, was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Hailey was friendly, efficient, and went above and beyond to ensure the day was exactly as my niece wanted it. I couldn't have handled all the little details without her. Her calming presence and willingness to help with any task or question eased the brides nerves. We are so grateful to the entire Larimore team for making our wedding day perfect.

When we were looking for a reception hall for our 10/10/20 wedding way back in 04/19 we chose Orlando’s. For the price it’s a great value. Then we did the food tasting and we felt great about our choice. The food was wonderful! Next came Covid...throughout the process Mike and Laurie made sure to listen to our concerns and they had a great sense of humor along the way. Our reception was the least stressful part of the whole day and if I could give them 6 stars I would!

Old Hickory Golf Club was a great place to hold our ceremony and reception! The food was amazing and our guests loved it. They made it easy to tour, book our date, schedule food tasting, and finalize all our details! My only item to note is that if you need to start hair/makeup super early, you may need to start offsite. We weren’t able to get in until about 8:30ish, which worked for my timeline but I know it may not work for everyone’s. They let us use the golf carts to get down to the ceremony site and to take sunset photos. They also set up our reception space exactly as I described. Overall, such a great experience and we were very happy!

Forest Park Golf Course was an easy choice for us. Everything is so organized and the package details are clear. You get the whole package here including ceremony space, reception, food, bar, and so much more! They also provide a “preferred vendors” list which helped tremendously to narrow down our other vendor choices. Maddie was our venue coordinator and she was very easy to work with! She was always quick to respond and keep us in the loop on things. Another great part of this venue is that they will set up your decorations for you, you just need to drop off your stuff the week before and they will take care of the rest! We got a lot of compliments from guests on how much fun they had at our wedding and how wonderful the food was. We loved our wedding day are so glad we went with Forest Park Golf Course!

I highly recommend Marriott STL West as a venue for your wedding / wedding reception. We had both our ceremony and reception there on NYE. The ballroom is clean and beautiful. The food included with the package was amazing! Way better quality than traditional “hotel food”. Multiple guests thought we had it catered! The staff is wonderful!!! Maggie is so easy to work with and helpful. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but the staff really made this experience painless!

Original Architectural Details with State of The Art Audio and Mood Lighting Systems. A Private 5,500 Square Foot Courtyard in the Rear of the building to host outdoor weddings or events. A special wedding gazebo in the courtyard will allow brides to have the outdoor wedding they always wanted with the security of knowing that the event can easily be moved inside if the weather does not comply. The Bridal Suite is over 700 square feet and includes a private bathroom, salon quality makeup and hair counter that can seat five and a lounge area with couches, wet bar and video monitoring of the main hall so that the bride can see guests arrive. Valet parking is not required as The McPherson offers a private parking lot for 80 cars. In addition, there is a portico for the bridal party’s limousine and a covered drop off area to use during inclement weather.

The fact that people don’t know about this place blows me away. There is nowhere else to go where the owners will bring your nephew cool cars. Allow your guests to leave their vehicles on the parking lot for safety if need be, the communication, the ideas. I know there are weddings there every weekend but the owners absolutely make you feel like your event is the only one that matters. The Hilton delivers it all! We loved that their wedding package includes catering, bar, tables, chairs, linens/etc., which really reduced some of the wedding planning stress. (They do allow couples to rent their own if they have a different vision.) Also, their event coordinators are very experienced and gave great recommendations in planning and in managing the day of the event. We truly enjoyed our day because the team at the Hilton Frontenac was handling everything so wonderfully! Our guests loved that they could stay in the same place as the wedding reception, and everyone reported having a great stay with the hotel. As bride and groom, we loved being able to go right upstairs to change shoes, etc. We even had leftover wedding cake brought up to our room which was a real treat! In addition to the wedding reception, we hosted our rehearsal dinner and farewell brunch at the Hilton. True to form, they did an amazing job, and the convenience factor really added to an enjoyable experience! The Hilton Frontenac can do it all! They have practically everything you need for your wedding planning and their team executes it expertly. Some people say that their wedding day flies by because there is so much going on. Because of the amazing staff and experience provided by the Frontenac Hilton, we truly enjoyed every minute of our day! We recommend them wholeheartedly!!!

The Barnett was the BEST choice for a wedding venue. It is so beautiful and all of our guests adored it. You barely have to decorate because it is so pretty. It is small and intimate and the stairs were perfect to have our wedding party come down. They have both an indoor and outdoor bar and had fantastic bartenders. There is a secure parking lot and they do offer valet as an add on. Working with Joe was seriously the best. He is so helpful and makes the process so much more fun.

John’s customer service was exceptional. Every time we reached out, he responded quickly. The staff who worked the reception also had amazing customer service. They were attentive to all of our guests. Our guests RAVED about the food. The staff was so helpful in meeting the needs of dietary restrictions. Having an on-tap selection of 12 beers was fantastic. Being an LGBT+ couple, it was important to us to find a reception venue where we felt comfortable. John was amazing to work with and incredibly inclusive. We would highly recommend Schlafly’s (definitely John) for a reception or event. Thank you for everything!

I really can’t say enough about Jeff, Amy, Ashley, and the rest of team at Gateway Center. They did their absolute best to make our wedding spectacular. Did we have hiccups during the process? Sure. But nothing that would make me hesitate recommending them. They customize pretty much everything so that you have things exactly as you want them and take care of everything on your day so that you don’t have to worry about a thing. And they’re so flexible. I had some family who were throwing them curve balls at the last minute and they took everything in stride. I can’t tell you how much I appreciated that.

We hosted a Hindu wedding ceremony and reception at the Magnolia. I wish it were possible to give more than 5 stars because our experience was incredible. Emily, the event manager, was kind, communicative, extremely accommodating (as Indian weddings can be a lot), and it was an absolute pleasure to work with her and team for our wedding. The presidential suite was stellar for getting ready photos, and the ballroom and rooftop provided perfect backdrops for photos. The staff worked with our vendors seamlessly. Couldn't recommend more!

We recently had our wedding and reception at Live! by Loews in October, and it was absolutely incredible. From start to finish, every detail was perfectly handled, and the experience exceeded all of our expectations. Our ceremony and cocktail hour took place on the Bullock Terrace, and the setting was nothing short of breathtaking. The stunning cityscape and Ballpark Village provided the exact vibe we envisioned. The terrace was beautifully prepared, creating an atmosphere our guest couldn't stop raving about. The Cardinal Ballroom for our reception was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate our 200 guests, with plenty of room for dancing and celebrating. The bar service was impeccable, and the food was a highlight of the night - everyone commented on how delicious everything was. A huge shoutout to Sydney, the venue coordinator, who was truly the icing on the cake. From our very first meeting to the wedding day itself, she went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. If everyone planning their wedding had a Sydney, no one would ever have to worry about a thing! her expertise, kindness, and attention to detail made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Beyond Sydney, every staff member we encountered was warm, friendly, and eager to help. I would recommend the Old Rock House for any event. The venue was exactly what we were looking for. They provided everything that we needed and had many other options that we could have taken advantage of. Our only complaint was that communication was lacking based on clarity of cost and what was wanted.

Our October wedding held it's reception at the beautiful indoor/outdoor space at Mad Art. We had 140 guests in attendance and the space more than accommodated dining and dancing. Kelsey and Ron are awesome! They provided a personal, curated service from our first visit to view the space to our incredible tasting to some last minute decorating hours before the reception. This old jail has rustic and modern character, great art displays, and a staff that provides a royal treatment. Definitely consider Mad Art as an elite venue for your event hosting needs!
