“The Nassau Inn in Princeton, NJ was the perfect venue for our wedding day. From the moment we started working with Amanda, the venue coordinator, we knew we were in good hands. She was extremely communicative, on top of things, and helpful throughout the entire planning process. The venue itself is beautiful, with an old-fashioned, cozy, and warm atmosphere that made our wedding feel like a dream. The fact that it is located so close to Princeton University was a bonus, as we were able to take stunning photos on the campus grounds. The food packages are great and offer a ton of food options. Our gorgeous cake was included in the package. Amanda and the entire Nassau Inn team ensured our day ran smoothly, even when we had to quickly move our ceremony indoors due to bad weather. “Our wedding turned out to be incredibly beautiful, thanks to a unique venue and execution by its staff. However, that perfect day was almost derailed by the unacceptable pressure campaign to change ceremony locations due to concerns over furniture getting wet. We wanted this review to capture our nearly 20 months of planning with the TWA Hotel. PLANNING PROS: -Variety of spaces -Responsiveness -Flexibility for storing supplies CONS: -No FAQ document -Frustrating room block system -Forgotten menu tasting notification -Lack of communication and contradictory info from the Paris Cafe for rehearsal dinner THE WEDDING PROS: -Organized and accommodating staff -The food, especially the pastrami station and red velvet cake for dessert CONS: -Wrong display with typo on Solaris board in the Sunken Lounge -Our tiered wedding cake wasn’t cut and served even tho there clearly wasn’t enough sheet cake to pass around -The weather “policy”: We were told that we could make a final decision on an outdoor ceremony up until the morning of our wedding, and our point of contact reassured us of this during our final walkthru 2 weeks out. Our contract also secured the Sunken Lounge as the backup option if we chose to move indoors. However, in the final days and hours before our wedding, we were pressured to move our ceremony indoors, despite nearly all weather reports showing clear skies for our 5-6pm ceremony and rain only after 9pm. Our point of contact started questioning our outdoor plans 4-5 days before the wedding, and even met with us multiple times - first in the lobby while we were dropping off supplies 2 days before our wedding, again when we were checking in the next day, and yet again when we were at the pool before our rehearsal dinner, where we had to brush off our guests in order to have a serious meeting. Each time, they told us we needed to make a "final call" now, not the morning-of as we had been told before. After listing their reasons to move the ceremony indoors (which included threatening to release the Sunken Lounge from our backup option, despite what our contract said), the point of contact mentioned that the head manager was concerned about the rain damaging the leather chairs, and then proposed a “solution” of having the ceremony outside, but not setting up any chairs so that our guests would stand for the entire ceremony. It was clear to us that the real reason why we were being pressured was that the manager didn’t want their leather chairs to get wet! We asserted that, unless we were explicitly told we couldn't have our ceremony outside, we would stick with the outdoor option. The morning of our wedding, our day-of coordinator informed us that the venue was insisting they now had a “50% chance of rain policy”, giving them the “right” to change ceremony locations. We immediately forwarded reports from 10 weather sites that all had a chance of rain between 5-7pm at 0-30%. We finally saw chairs being set up outside in the mid-afternoon, and when our ceremony got underway, the clouds parted ways and the sun started shining. CONCLUSION: The TWA Hotel is such a special place to celebrate your wedding! Before you sign the contract, however, understand that you’ll have to stay on top of the planning process, and in cases like ours, fight for what you envision. Make sure the contract spells out any and all promises — there were items that we made sure they honored as it was clear the hotel’s policies had changed since the signing.”

“Despite the change of hospitality groups, the team at Ace Hotel Brooklyn was amazing to work with for our wedding. They offer an all-inclusive package that, at the time of our wedding, included the entire second floor for the day of our event, linens for tables, catering, and staffing for the entire day. We were also able to book the Ace Suite and have a hotel block for a discounted rate for our guests. The catering team was amazing and was very accommodating for different dietary restrictions that I, some guests, and vendors each had. We can’t thank Tricia, Susannah, and Paul enough for their helping us bring everything together! Photographer: Kara McCurdy”

“I hosted my wedding at The Lofts at Prince Street and I had the most gorgeous time! I rented the rooftop for our ceremony and cocktail hour, and the penthouse top floor for our reception. From the start, Claudia was absolutely amazing to work with. She is confident, thoughtful, and kind. Throughout planning our wedding, Claudia was an excellent help. She was responsive, answering my questions thoughtfully and always very quickly. On our wedding day, I found her presence very calming and reassuring. The Lofts get many guests per week, but I felt like Claudia took the time to get to know me and my husband, and really made us feel special. Our wedding was about 25 people, and the space fit us perfectly. The rooftop gives you the money shot. Even our hardest to please guests complimented our venue multiple times. You get gorgeous, 360 views of the Manhattan skyline, but you are high above street level so excessive noise was not a problem. I talked through my vision with Claudia on our walkthrough, and her team took care of so much before I even arrived. The penthouse room is a blank canvas that you can decorate any way you wish. The exposed brick and clean walls are a really cool starting point, but I was absolutely blown away by how the room transformed into a better vision than I could have even imagined. There is a private suite in the back that we used to get ready in. It was very fun to take photos there and I felt safe tucked away before my guests arrived. The space is also very clean! Having a suite in the back allowed me to arrive early to the venue and get centered before the ceremony began. If you are not familiar with NYC, the Lofts are in a really fun location! You are central to many hotels and subway lines, so it’s easy to access. The venue is surrounded by cafes, green spaces, and restaurants. And you are a short walk from many bars if you want an after party. Even if your wedding is larger, I would highly recommend the Lofts for a shower or even an event. I am so thankful we opted for the Lofts at Prince Street, it was a really great choice!”

On the second floor, The Overlook is a cozy room perfect for a rehearsal dinner or cocktails, connected to The Perch which overlooks The Garden. Downstairs, there's Narcissa restaurant, which boasts its own private terrace, the street-side Café Standard, and NO BAR, a highly inclusive new wave gay bar with custom artwork and a disco ball.

  • Has an intimate feel for a small guest list
  • Private area for the wedding party

Venue considerations

  • Lighting and sound are not included
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Better for more intimiate events
“Having never been privy to what goes into a wedding reception, I was in the dark about a lot. So, I had difficulty understanding what to choose and how much our choices would cost. If it wasn’t for the close proximity to the church, I may have chosen a different venue for our reception. The food and beverage was the biggest expense and the biggest source of confusion. The real disappointment of the F&B was the limited amount of food. The shrimp appetizer was good. However, there was so little, if you didn’t grab some, it was gone. Of the three entrees to choose from, the only one that was any good was the fish and the portion was less than one would reasonably expect for an entree. The chicken was dry and hard, a huge disappointment. The lemon tart dessert was good. The space itself is very nice. Fortunately, it was just the right size for our reception.”

“The whole team at The Albion really made our wedding dreams come to life - they are the absolute best and so much fun to work with. Deidre and Jennifer were kind and genuinely excited about every idea I brought to them during the planning process. Deidre, the manager, is so organized and thoughtful; from our very first tour, she made the entire timeline feel seamless. And as a type A bride, I had many questions lol Our guests are still raving about the food, the venue itself, and about how much fun the day was - The Albion knows how to throw a BANGER!!! The hotel is stunning and gave us the perfect non-traditional backdrop we were looking for. It was such a perk to have everything including ceremony, reception and after party all in the same location so no one had to worry about transportation, too. Kevin, the maître d’, and the entire day-of team were so on top of every detail. They had all of our decor and personal items packed up neatly and exactly as they came in, which we appreciated so much. And most memorably, Jennifer was right there for the nerve wracking moment before we walked down the aisle — so calming, so supportive, and so clearly passionate about what she does. Overall, our day was everything we wanted: the most special ceremony followed by the most lit dance party ever. We could not imagine a better venue or better people!!”

“I had my bridal shower here with 10 of my closest friends and it was honestly perfect. It felt so intimate and cozy, like a beautiful home instead of a typical event space. We spent the night just being fully present with each other. Sleeping over made it extra special… no rushing, no stress, just us.”

“Having a Celebration of Life was definitely more focused on the positives of a sad occasion but it's nonetheless stressful. You still have all of the responsibilities of the hostess and getting your relatives there on time and making decisions prior to the event. I can't thank the staff at the Benjamin enough for guiding me through the process and for handling everything when we got there. I really didn't feel like I had much to handle when we got there. We were able to decorate the way we wanted to and were provided with a tv to run a slide show. One more thing...the food was great!”

“Our wedding at Ravel was nothing short of extraordinary. From our very first phone call with Eman to the very last dance, the entire team made us feel supported, celebrated, and completely at ease. Our wedding planner, Eman, was an absolute star. Her organization, creativity, and calm presence kept everything on track. She understood our vision from day one and executed every detail flawlessly. We truly could not have asked for a better guide throughout this journey. My bridal attendant, Mrianda, was a lifesaver. She anticipated every need before I even had to ask — fixing my dress, keeping me hydrated, calming my nerves, and making sure I felt beautiful and comfortable all day long. Her kindness and attentiveness made a world of difference. A special thank-you goes to Anna and Joe, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the entire day ran smoothly. Whether it was coordinating timing, helping guests, or managing transitions, they handled everything with professionalism and genuine care. We felt so well taken care of, and our families noticed too. The venue itself is stunning — from the views, THE VIEWS, to the ambiance to the seamless flow of each part of the celebration. But what truly sets The Ravel apart is its incredible team. They made our wedding not just beautiful, but stress-free and joy-filled. Our guests were talking about our wedding for weeks after. All raving about the views, food, cocktail hour, and the overall incredible time they had. If you’re considering Ravel for your big day, do it. You’ll be treated like family, your vision will be brought to life, and you’ll walk away with memories that feel nothing short of magical.”

“Where do I even begin? We got married at the Grain House at the Olde Mill Inn on May 23, 2024, and it was nothing short of perfect. The entire wedding planning process was made easy thanks to everyone at the Olde Mill Inn and Grain House. They are very responsive, which is crucial when planning a wedding. My grandmother and grandfather had their wedding reception here back in 1957, so I knew I wanted to meet with them to discuss having my wedding there. It was the first and only venue we met with. After going on a tour and discussing the different packages with Lea, I was sold. They take care of your accommodations, catering, bar, cake, tables, chairs, etc. My wedding planning “to-do” list was cut in half! Everyone is so accommodating and they really work with you to make sure your day goes perfectly. So many guests told us how they never experienced wedding food to this level. Everything was DELICIOUS! Better yet, we actually got to eat as the bride and groom. The property itself is gorgeous. John was our Matre d’ and he was the best! He made sure we stayed on time, he ran food from the cocktail hour to me and my husband when we were taking photos, and he coordinated with our vendors so we didn’t have to worry. His efforts did not go unnoticed. Once again I had guests come up to me and tell me how amazing he is. I also had guests reach out after to tell me it was the best wedding they have ever been to. All of our vendors were fantastic but the Old Mill Inn and Grain House really did the bulk of the work to make it an unforgettable experience. The hotel itself was wonderful to stay in, everything was so clean and the breakfast was delicious. I wouldn’t change a thing about my wedding day, everything was perfect and I really have the Old Mill Inn and the Grain House to thank for that. I would recommend the Old Mill Inn and the GrainHouse to anyone planning a wedding. It really is the ONLY choice in my opinion. You will not be disappointed.”
