Upside Studios KC is a historic, truly rustic, event space located in the west bottoms of Kansas City. The building dates back to the early 1900s. This historic space first opened for business in 1922 as a silent movie house, called the Rosedale Theatre, and was revamped as The Vox Theatre in the 1940s. The building's art deco craftsmanship, seen through vibrant brick inlays offers a dramatic entrance into the space. Once inside, the 6,500 square foot building boasts 20' high ceilings and sweeping views throughout the main event space; your gaze will wander to the original stage valence framed by customized architectural lighting. Plush red velvet curtains greet you upon entering the space, and boldly frame the 16ft wide elevated stage. Where theatre seating once was, the space is now completely open concept, offering uninterrupted sight-lines and allowing creative flexibility in how you arrange your event.

The Venue is a unique space that allows you to host your event with pride and confidence. The Venue is located in the downtown historic district of Sedalia, Missouri. We are located within two blocks of The Hotel Bothwell and across the street from Kay's Bridal and Tuxedo. You and your guests are also within walking distance of restaurants, bars, barbershops, beauty salons and the Ozark coffee shop. The building has been renovated by adding modern touches to the original charm that was created in 1906. The Venue's main level exhibits industrial chic accents such as; Grand chandeliers, string lighting, concrete countertops, exposed brick, the original hardwood floors and punch tin ceiling.
