    A truly wonderful place to stay — and an even better host My wife and I stayed at Silver Heart Inn & Cottages during our trip to Independence, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about our experience. From the very beginning, Charles has been absolutely wonderful. His communication has been superb, and he has gone out of his way to be accommodating and make sure we felt comfortable and welcome. There’s a level of genuine hospitality here that you simply don’t get from a typical hotel. You can tell that Charles truly cares about his guests and about making their stay a memorable one. The inn itself has so much character and charm, and it feels warm and inviting rather than just being another place to sleep for the night. But as nice as the property is, Charles and the way he treats his guests are what really make this place special. When you’re traveling, finding somewhere you feel comfortable and genuinely welcomed can make a huge difference in the entire trip. Silver Heart Inn & Cottages has been exactly that for us. I can say without hesitation that whenever I’m back in Missouri, this is where I’ll be staying. Charles has earned lifelong customers in my wife and me, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Silver Heart Inn & Cottages to anyone visiting the Independence area.     Had an amazing Time! As first timers we were blown away with the cleanliness and the service was impeccable. Charles was so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend. We will be back!

    Stayed in the Gamble Suite with my adult son, great rooms, delicious breakfast, great location and an amazing host in Charles. Definitely the place to stay to explore Independence and Kansas City.

    We came initially for the Eras tour where we got engaged! Charles was so amazing and all the food he makes is reason enough to come stay! All the rooms are so clean and cozy! We had our wedding here and he accommodated everything perfectly! We had our entire family stay at the inn and they all loved it so much this is their new go-to place to stay whenever they're in KC!

Yes, we allow beer, champagne and wine for events. Stronger alcoholic beverages require a bartender to be hired for the event. Silver Heart Inn does not have an alcohol license.
We have a total of 6 parking spaces which are for guest staying overnight on our property. Event parking is located off of 23rd and Noland just a few yards away from the inn.
Yes, our historical home and gardens are wheelchair accessible. We also have a ramp at the side entrance, hearing-impaired fire alarm lights, and trained staff.
Booking fees for our facilities, and all payments made including deposits, are non-refundable. If you cancel your event within 40 days of your booked date, we’ll bill you the full amount of all estimated charges.
Your reservation includes four hours from start to finish, including the time it takes our staff to set up and clean up. Any additional time will be billed at $200 per hour. We will allow up to 6 hours if the entire property is booked.
