Hi! I'm Nicole Murphy and I'm the lead photographer of The Murphys. I’ve been fortunate enough to photograph engagement sessions and weddings in 13 different states. Throughout the years I’ve documented intimate elopement ceremonies and weddings with over 250 guests. As an artist I crave a real connection with my couples. I look for couples who are truly in love and are willing to put their trust in my vision. My photographs are often described as warm, natural, romantic, and timeless. My passion for photography and weddings began when I was very young. I staged Barbie weddings, making their dresses from Kleenex, then snuck Mom’s camera to take pictures of them. I moved on to dressing up my little sister in a pillowcase veil, again sneaking Mom’s camera. When she got tired of me using up all her film, she brought home several Bride magazines from the free pile at the library and I spent hours reading them, then pinning pages of beautiful wedding dresses on the ceiling of my bedroom. When “The Wedding Planner” came out in 2001, my fate was sealed

I grew up in a very small town called Colesburg, Iowa. I currently live in Dubuque again, but this time I live with my own family! My husband and I have quite the full house! A know-it-all 15 year old, a laid-back but sassy 9 year old, and a 3 year old who one day thinks he's a dinosaur and the next a Ninja Turtle. Oh, and not to mention we also have three cats, a Siamese (Owen) and a black cat (Daisy), and a Tabby cat (Astro), and two dogs, a Golden Retriever (Roman) and a beagle (Bayley).
