“If you're looking for the photographer to capture all the love and joy you feel with your special person, I'm here to tell you, this is it. You found him. Does the idea of spending thousands of dollars for wedding photos scare you, because you can't see the photos right away, no refunds, no exchanges, no returns, and no do-overs, you are not alone. Do the scary thing. Invest your money on a photographer, but make sure you book Jason Rhee. I had a visual aesthetic in mind, but I also wasnt sure how to describe it. As a hobby photographer who mostly takes pictures of her dogs, or snaps pretty scenery and yummy food on vacation, I didnt know how to find to find somebody to capture our special day with the same romantic, yet slightly silly POV. I follow David Suh on IG, because he makes it look fun and easy to get photos you can proudly display, but we couldnt afford to fly him out for our wedding. We wanted somebody who gave similar energy. Instead, I spent hours on Google, Zola, Wedding Wire, the Knot, Reddit, Instagram, and reached out to Facebook groups like Subtle Asian Weddings and Ologies for inspiration. After weeks of pouring through lists of local photographers, reading price packages, scouring albums/portfolios/pages trying to find examples to describe the aesthetic I was looking for, and looking for photographers who evoke the same emotion, I found Jason Rhee. We set up a meeting, he passed the vibe check with flying colors. We had 6 months to plan our reception. We were on a budget. We needed somebody familiar with photographing not one, but three dogs at a wedding. We had an intimate (under 40ppl) wedding, with a LOT of camera-shy introverts (ourselves included!), and we wanted to get amazing pictures but have no experience posing in front of the camera. Where do we put our hands? What is our best angle? Is there enough light at the venue? Should I be serious, serene, or laughing? Don't worry, book Jason Rhee. Jason made the process of working together very easy and it felt like a true collaboration. He helped us plan within our budget. He was as invested as we were in creating our timeline, ensuring we had time for the photos we wanted, and understanding our wedding photography priorities. He provided prompts!!! He also coordinated with our videographer. Everything was clearly outlined in the contract. Our teaser album was done about two weeks after the reception (rest of the album should be done in another two weeks, which is amazing turnaround time considering the hundreds if not thousands of photos taken that day) I’ve always been self-conscious in front of a camera, but Jason was the best at boosting my confidence and posing us in a way that felt natural and look beautiful. We had many laughs along the way. Sadly, one of pups passed shortly before the big day, so we had to make it through one of the saddest months, alongside the chaos of planning our big day. Jason navigated it all with grace and went the extra mile to make sure we got all the photos we were hoping for. We got so many compliments (both during and after the wedding) from friends and family.”

We went with an acoustic guitar player for ceremony, electric guitar cocktail hour and reception along with a DJ (Josuel lead) for the reception. We also had the photo station Photo Booth which was perfect for the setting. However our biggest compliments go to Josuel who was our lead DJ. He was organized, prepared and had an excellent presence and composure. He even sorted our last minute changes with the venues matre de because we and guests were taking too long at cocktail hour.. he figured out little changes so I didn’t have to! Above and beyond. Also he had everyone and I mean everyone dancing the whole night to a blend of 80s rock, 90s pop 2000s alt.. it was just perfect. Cannot say thank you enough to him and the whole EMG group.”

“We absolutely loved everything about our experience at Skyview. From the moment we toured the venue, our breath was taken away with the majestic scenic views of the Appalachia. Our decision was further cemented when we learned everything that was included in their wedding package, an incredible value that beat all of the other venues we visited by a significant margin. Here's an unexpected fact - I hated weddings when I first started second shooting them. It broke my heart to see couples being rushed, overwhelmed, and not truly having any connection to couples. That's what drove my passion to breath a fresh air into the wedding experience! Plan with intention, focus on being present, and building genuine relationships with couples! You should be heard, appreciated, and understood. You should feel encouraged to get married your way.

“Read for my true heartfelt experience with Angelica at Dawnpoint, but in short - hire her. This should be the easiest decision you make in your wedding planning journey. I came across Dawnpoint after she documented the wedding of someone I know. Those pictures felt so authentic and real. They took me right to the event and made me feel so much. I knew I needed to meet her. From my initial zoom meeting with Angelica, we hit it off. I said I wanted to get the best views in our pictures. She was on board right away. For our engagement pictures, she took us on a hike. Chris and I showed up in hiking gear with our formal wear in our packs. So did Angelica. This may seem so minuscule but for two people who had never been photographed and just wanted someone to make them feel comfortable and to capture something real, this made us trust her from the get go. Needless to say, those pictures were amazing. We even used them for our save the dates! Fast forward to our wedding day in Lake Placid on June 15, 2024. My goals were ambitious but Angelica was on board every step of the way. From creating the timeline to executing the plan the day of, it was the least stressful part of our day. What I loved most was that she listened to my vision and incorporated it in everything she did that day. I even forgot that I wanted a specific picture of my dress, but she definitely did not. When I was getting ready, she had my bridal party share personal stories of us and it was so sweet, I felt so connected to the people closest to me that day and it helped me stay grounded and present from the beginning. For our first look, we wanted to meet at the top of Whiteface Mountain. This was 40 minutes away from our venue and logistically a lot of things could go wrong. Yet, Angelica was a smiling face reassuring me that we could do it. Everything from asking for us to skip the elevator line, to clearing the space on Whiteface for Chris and I to get our moment. I was and remain truly speechless of how she actually made this happen. The pictures speak for themselves. After, we returned to our venue and without delay resumed with a first look with my dad (which I added last minute and was meeted with so much excitement from Angelica). One of my favorite parts was golden hour pictures. I take zero credit here. This was Angelica’s idea and I am so thankful. It was a truly beautiful and authentic experience to photograph the newly wed joy I felt. This is just one of so many ways in which Angelica showed that she was as present and invested in our day as we were. After receiving my sneak preview pictures, I was honestly met with so much emotion. I was brought right back to each moment and exactly how I was feeling. I am truly blown away because if anyone can get a picture to tell a thousand words, it is Angelica. She perfectly captured our day and was the single most best decision I made that day. Unsolicited feedback from my guests: “Your photographer smiled the entire night! She looked like she was having so much fun!” This was feedback I got multiple times and it goes to show much Angelica loves her job! P.S. Jake, her second shooter, was also an absolute pleasure. Together, their energy was infectious.”

For myself, Norma DID HER THING with the makeup! No flare ups or skin irritations all day. The natural glam was spot on with what I was envisioning. Linda was AMAZING with my hair!
