At Zola, we’re dedicated to delivering top-tier service by delivering you the highest quality leads. Our team of real people (114 of us, to be exact!) is deeply invested in building a platform that truly benefits your business. Your success is our success, and we understand that delivering quality leads is paramount to that! As a result, we’re making this promise to you:

We never send fake leads—ever.

We want to be absolutely clear: Zola has never and will never generate or drive fake leads. It's simply not in our DNA! Building trust and delivering real value is fundamental to who we are. It’s a commitment we make proudly.

When spam happens, we’ve got your back.

Spam is an unfortunate reality of the internet, but we work hard to block spam leads from ever reaching you. While no platform is completely immune, we’ve built strong protections and processes to spot spam, and squash it! In 2024, out of the millions of leads sent by Zola couples to Zola vendors, only .05% were reported as spam. (And yes, we do wish that number was zero, and we’re working everyday to get there.)

Here's a look at our current process:

  • Before any lead hits your inbox, we run it through an internal spam moderation tool, which reviews the lead for risk factors like location, strange notes, how quickly the inquiries are being sent, known fraud accounts, and more.

  • If any of these things look off, we apply a risk score, which triggers our internal support moderation team to review it manually.

  • If the lead looks suspicious after manual review, we mark it as spam and it doesn't hit your inbox. If it looks good to go after moderation, we send it through.

  • In your Conversations tab, you’ll see a “Report spam” button on the lead, which you can use to let us know about any spam leads that get through. We use that info to help our moderation tool get even smarter!

  • When spam leads are reported, we promptly return your credits through our Credit Protection Policy.

Whether you prefer to pay per lead and stay in full control, or you’d rather set it and forget it with leads delivered straight to your inbox, we’ve got an option for everyone. There are no locked-in contracts, and you can cancel anytime—so you’re never tied down.

Lead quality remains a top priority for us because we hear how important it is to you. We also understand that receiving leads is only half the battle: getting responses is also crucial! Many couples who reach out on Zola are still early in their planning journey, and that’s a good thing, but it also means that they may not have all of their ducks in a row. To improve quality and response rate, here’s what we’re planning to tackle in the near future:

  • Complete a detailed analysis of our internal moderation tool to see where there may be gaps in initial lead flagging.

  • Review additional opportunities for enhancing couple verification.

  • Investigate ways we could make identifying and reporting spam leads easier for our vendors if they do sneak through.

  • We hear you that personalization is important. We’re going to be assessing additional personalization opportunities to include in our Hello feature.

  • Find even more criteria to use in how we match leads to our vendors.
