“A weekend romance that just won’t end” is how Jeremy describes how he met and got to know his now fiancé, John. From Korean BBQ themed dinners to rope swinging in St. Martin to a proposal in Joshua Tree National Park, this #ZolaCouple knows how to always keep the adventure alive. Get to know them as they count down the 17 days left until they’re wedding!
How did you meet? John lived in San Francisco at the time, and I was visiting from LA for the weekend. I met him on a “dating” app, and a weekend romance began that just won’t end.
How did you get engaged? I took John to Joshua Tree, California for the weekend where I took him to Joshua Tree National Park for a photo-shoot. I’m a photographer, and this was to be the first time I photographed a shoot with him. After the shoot he flipped through the pictures of himself on the camera until he saw a photo I quietly took showing a note that read “John, will you marry me?” sitting next to a ring. I then nervously got on one knee and fumbled through a proposal.
What was the first thing you did after you got engaged? We both immediately called our family and shared the news. The second thing we did was buy JeremyandJohn.com.
Any tips for balancing wedding planning with your everyday busy life? When we felt like time was getting away from us we would simply slot time in our calendar for “wedding stuff.” Sometimes you just need to set aside time or a day to talk about wedding plans. We did find it best to knock out the big stuff early (i.e. the caterer, venue, guest list).
Where are you going on your honeymoon and how did you pick the destination? We are going to the island of Mykonos in Greece. It’s a destination that neither of us have been to before, and John is of Greek decent. It also complements both our interests, nightlife for me and relaxation and quiet days for John.
Best adventure you’ve had yet together? One of our favorite adventures together was swinging off a rope from a sailboat off the coast of St. Martin Island.
What are you most excited for about newlywed life? Continuing the path we are on now towards a long and fulfilling life.
What are you most excited for on your registry? It may in fact be a gift that we’ve already received and used. We received the Vineyard Lunch Safari experience at Malibu Wine Safaris from our Zola registry. It was such a beautiful and exciting experience to do as a couple. We may even do it again one day soon.
Now that you know what Jeremy & John’s favorite registry gift is, we thought we’d pick a few ourselves. See below but don’t forget to check out their entire selection here.
