You’re Engaged! Now What? Engagement Tips

The holidays – otherwise known as Engagement Season – came and went better than you could have ever imagined. Now that you’ve had a little time to come down from cloud 9, you’ve got a lot on your plate. We get it – from picking a wedding date that works for everyone to registering for your future and from having a new set of parents to listening to unsolicited advice and everything in between, it’s totally normal to feel overwhelmed. We’ve got some engagement tips to help you navigate everything during this exciting time in your life.

Get Organized

Budgets, dates and Pinterest boards all have a place in the planning process. But before you jump in head first picking out corsages, make sure you have all your ducks in a row. Prioritizing is key. Decide what is important early on and go from there. Let’s say your priorities are staying within your budget, having great pictures and serving your favorite cake. Make sure you get those out of the way first before you concern yourself with charger plates and dessert forks. You’ll thank us later!

Register Early

We cannot stress this enough! Register as early as possible because friends and family are going to get you gifts whether you’re ready or not. So at least make sure you’re getting what you want, right? Use our Registry Checklists to make sure you don’t miss anything. Our handy guides are made with your hectic schedule in mind so you can click-click-click your way to your dream registry. And we make it easy to get your Thank You Notes streamlined too.

Make Some Time for Yourself

…and your fiancé. It’s easy to get lost in all the craziness and forget why you’re even doing this whole wedding in the first place. Set aside a few no-wedding-talk hours each week… or try to at least!

Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff

So your dream band’s lead bassist is booked on the only day your two families could agree on, but the rest of the band has committed to giving it their all and using their favorite sub. While it’s easy to freak out over the details, you can’t let it get you down for the next 8 months. Once you make a decision, no matter what the extenuating circumstances are, stick to it and move forward. The rest will all fall into place! It always does…
