Whether you’re the hostess with the mostess or your idea of entertaining is having friends over for movie night on the couch, these hosting essentials will have you covered for all your in-home social events.
What is it?
Basically, think of this as your one-stop-shop for all of your entertaining needs.
I need this if?
You need this is you ever plan on having anyone over for more than just a few minutes. Think friends, family, coworkers or even that nice lady down the hall.
How many settings do I need?
At the very least, you need the basics. For starter homes and apartments, we recommend getting a solid base of just the essentials to account for 4-8 guests. For a more spacious layout or those with additional storage space, we suggest enough settings to host 10-12.
What style is right for me?
Great question! And an easy answer, too. With so many styles to choose from (think Art Deco, engraved, patterned, rustic, floral, solids, modern etc.), pick whatever suits your fancy. Mix and match or keep it streamlined – if you love it, you can’t go wrong.
While not a requirement for a great party, it certainly helps to have the drinks flowing all night. Wine, sake, whiskey, beer, you name it – keep everyone happy with a wide assortment. Refill, please!
Serving utensils are the easiest way to get your food to your guests with as few spills as possible. They’re essential for family style meals, too. Keep them out during dinner so everyone can help themselves to seconds (and thirds) of your deliciousness.
A great display makes food all the more enticing which is why we pulled together some of our oh-so-gorgeous platters for you to explore. Even if your cooking skills aren’t ready for Top Chef yet, at least your meal will be picture-perfect for all you Instagram followers to see.
Coffee + Tea
Everyone loves a good night cap so when the party winds down, treat your guests to their choice of freshly brewed coffee or tea. When served from saucers like these, how could anyone say no?
