NYE Dinner Party Trends

After a season of glittering holiday parties on the town, a New Year’s celebration at home is the perfect way to cap off 2016 and start 2017 with your nearest and dearest. Ahead, PartySlate shares favorite tips for a memorable New Year’s Eve dinner party!

Cocktail Pairings

Wine pairings are fabulous, but cocktail pairings mean business. Select beverages to pair with each course, and get even more clever by giving the naming rights for them to your party-guests.

Even more fun? Mini versions to give guests a taste of different potions that blend beautifully with your salad or main course.

Petite Bites

Speaking of mini, there are very few things that party-guests love more than tiny bites.

Consider a Mosser Glass Mini Cake stand at each place setting with a trio of tiny dinner rolls  and individual soup or mac & cheese served in a mini cocotte by Le Creuset.

Wish Balloons

Create a bevy of wishes for your guests and tuck them inside balloons before filling them up. Decorate your space with dozens of balloons and send your guests home with their wishes for the new year at the end of the evening.

Guest Art

Hire an artist to create a portrait of each dinner guest (or their children!) before the party and use those for your place cards. Gifting these to guests at the end of the evening is a way for your pals to remember the evening long after it’s done.

Make it Interactive

Hire a bartender to teach cocktail-crafting or invite your guests to roll pasta and make your dinner together. Working together to create your food and drink is fun and memorable.

Forget the dinner party and make a resolution party! Invite guests to come cozy and include a yoga instructor in the soiree. Start with a great workout and finish with a spa-inspired dinner, using this cutie mason jar for your drinks.

Cheers to 2017!
