Do you film destination weddings?

Yes! While my team is based in Bend, OR, we’re available for destination weddings worldwide. If your wedding is outside of Oregon, we’re happy to come to your city for an additional fee to cover the cost of travel and reasonable accommodations.

Do you film elopements?

Absolutely! Please refer to the half-day package for elopement pricing.

Question 3

How far in advance should we book you for our wedding?

Accepted Answer

Once you know your wedding date, I recommend reaching out as soon as possible about my team's availability. We film and photograph a limited number of weddings every year to ensure our couples receive the highest quality service, so our calendar typically fills up months in advance.

Do you have insurance?

Yes! We’re happy to send a copy of our certificate of liability insurance to your venue or any other vendors upon request.

Question 5

Who will edit our wedding video?

Accepted Answer

All footage we film is edited in-house by our incredible editing team, and I personally add the finishing touches.

Question 6

Can you do a same-day edit? And do you do streaming/live services?

We do not offer same day edits, as the quality of your video is our top priority and rushing production does not allow us to create our best work. We also don't offer live services (I like to edit the footage!), but I know someone I can refer you to. (There aren't many of us in the area that do live coverage.)

Can anyone else see our wedding video? (Or will it be private?)

Your video will be publicly viewable unless you specify otherwise. We're happy to accommodate your privacy needs.

Question 8

How many videographers should we book for our wedding?

Accepted Answer

Both of our wedding packages include at least two videographers. If you’re having a larger wedding with 100 or more guests, you might want to consider booking an additional videographer to ensure we’re able to capture every moment of your special day.

Question 9

How long will it take to see our wedding film?

Accepted Answer

Our turnaround time varies. You’ll be able to view your finished film anywhere between 6-12 weeks after your wedding, depending on how booked out we are.

Question 10

Will I need to be mic-ed up during the ceremony?

The short answer is yes, unless you don't want to include audio of your ceremony (and opt for music only). The good news is, I can hide the mic pretty easily under the dress(es), and the mic usually blends in pretty well with the boutonniere(s). I will sometimes will plug into the DJ's sound system (as a backup only) if they allow it, but I do not rely on the DJ's sound system as it can cut out.

How long have you been a wedding videographer?

In 2011, I received an art degree, specializing in "media" arts (photo/video/digital). Since then I have chosen to specialize in photography, while doing video and graphic design work on the side. In 2022, I decided to change things up as I saw a need for videographers in the area. I took some refresher courses and invested in new gear to be able to offer the best quality possible, and I am excited to now be offering both photo and video services for weddings!

What gear do you shoot with?

I shoot with a variety of Canon gear, typically 2-3+ cameras, and the associate videographers that I partner with shoot with a variety of Sony gear. I also use a variety of audio equipment as well as a gimbal, drone, and lights.

Will you be shooting our wedding? (Or someone else?)

Yes, unless I have a personal emergency (knock on wood, hasn't happened yet), but I have some professional backups who have similar shooting styles that will cover for me (and I've covered for some of them). They're super nice people, great to work with. I would still edit their work in my own style.

How many weddings have you filmed/photographed?

Between photo and video work, I've documented well over 100 events (and hundreds of photo/portrait sessions).

How many weddings do you photograph/film per year?

This year -2023- I have 21 (and counting...) weddings. It varies a lot, and I actually took a break from weddings for a while to photograph other things (mainly portraits and other types of events). At the moment, anywhere from 16-30/year is my goal, while supplementing with portrait and brand work in the off season.

Are you a full time photographer/videographer?

Yes! I have a degree in photo/video/design ("media arts") and am excited to be working full time in my field. Fun Fact: My side hustle (which keeps me away from my computer screen!) is massage therapy, mostly in the off season. I have my own practice and offer massage twice a week :-)

Can I have videos of the full ceremony and speeches?

Yep! If you let me know that you're interested ahead of time we can add them on to your package (please let me know before we film your wedding so we can film accordingly the day of).

Have you ever worked with my wedding photographer?

Accepted Answer

...Good question! I would love to get to know your vendors ahead of time so I can reach out and communicate about the timeline and our working styles. Chances are, if they're in the Bend area, I've probably worked with them in some capacity or have at least met them at a networking event.

Are there any other wedding vendors in the area you love to work with?

Yep! I love chatting about venues, rentals, planners, florists, food, etc. and giving my recommendations!

Question 21

I am nervous in front of cameras. How can you help me relax?

Accepted Answer

I have a PhD in awkward (lol!) so I totally understand... honestly though, feeling present and in the moment will show up best in your photos and videos. Your photo/video team usually has some pretty good tactics that allow your personalities unfold. Some more hot tips: Schedule your day so it doesn't feel rushed, which will help with your (very visible!) stress levels. Practice cultivating joy in yourself leading up to your wedding day (envision your happy place, your cat/dog, your children, etc.), thinking happy thoughts can make you light up in photos! Practice a few poses together ahead of time, like the dip kiss!

What *isn't* included in your packages? Do you include RAW photos or videos?

RAW footage is never included. You don't want to look at the LOG, unstabilized, uncut, non-color balanced footage or audio, trust me. And I don't want that footage out in the world, haha. Your finished product is the art piece. I also don't include full ceremony or speeches (I shoot cinematic short films), but if you let me know ahead of time I can prepare for it and add it to your package.

Will you be shooting any other weddings the same day or weekend?

Not on the same day, no. On the same weekend, possibly, if it's in the same town or close by. I don't want to be exhausted or sleep deprived for anyone's wedding, so I like to keep my "double headers" to a minimum.

Question 24

How will you choose music for our wedding video?

Accepted Answer

Popular/trendy songs are unfortunately copywritten and your video won't be able to be posted anywhere (including youtube, instagram, facebook, vimeo, etc.) unless I purchase music usage rights on your behalf (which is included in your package). I like to ask ahead of time what music taste couples have and search for cinematic music that fits their vibe.

How will the final product be delivered?

You'll receive high resolution digital file(s) that you can download and share (and print if you book a photo package).
