About this venue

A historic cinema and performing arts venue. Built in 1911 originally for vaudeville, then a neighborhood movie-house for decades. Reopened in the late 90's early 00's and revitalized as a community-driven venue. Today hosting screenings, concerts, comedy, plays, musicals, festivals, educational events, touring artists, and many local artists & organizations. Home to Grand Rapids Film Society, and a proud program of the Grand Rapids Community Media Center.

    From the moment we reached out to Wealthy Theatre about hosting our wedding ceremony, their communication was timely, transparent, and incredibly informative. Chris and Caleb were very kind and understand the importance of your special day going smoothly! The historic venue itself was absolutely beautiful - clean, with great vibes that made all our guests feel comfortable. There are plenty of options to customize the day including access to the marquee and the poster cases in front. Everything went off without a hitch on the day of our wedding, and the staff was attentive to our every need. We couldn't have asked for a better venue to celebrate our special day. Highly recommend Wealthy Theatre to any couple looking for a stress-free, gorgeous wedding experience.

    Wealthy theater was amazing in helping me with my proposal my soon to be wife. They were very quick to respond, my initial plan fell through kind of last minute and they swooped in to the rescue. They were friendly and very professional through the process, even excitedly congratulated us when we were finished. They made sure everything went well. We went to see the movie that night too and they gifted us concessions before the movie, it was so sweet! So grateful we were able to support a small queer friendly business, and beyond grateful they could make this happen.
