In accordance with the State of Michigan Liquor Laws, the Downtown Market is the only entity that can serve alcoholic beverages/provide bar services. External alcohol is prohibited by law and will be confiscated. Additional fees will apply.

Yes, all our facilities are wheelchair accessible. We also have ramps at the main and side entrances, hearing-impaired fire alarm lights, and trained staff.
Yes, we do require liability insurance for all events held in our spaces. You can either obtain this from your personal insurance provider or TheEventHelper.com.
The second floor atrium is a public space until the Market Hall closes (hours vary seasonally). Events occurring past operational hours will be assigned a security guard to ensure guests are able to enter and exit the facility with ease, as needed. It is our expectation that all clients be respectful and non-disruptive of Market patrons and vice versa.
You are welcome to access rented event space(s) at the beginning of your rental time block, which is noted on your contract. The rental time block must be inclusive of any setup (decorating, caterer setup, etc) and teardown required for your event, including that required by vendors. If access is needed earlier than listed, additional hours can be purchased on an a la carte basis.
Not permitted: ● Nails, screws, staples or penetrating items ● Glitter, confetti, rice, sand, birdseed or any substance that causes litter or debris inside the facility or on the grounds ● Suspending items from the ceiling
All food (including desserts, with an exception for Wedding Cake) must be provided by Downtown Market tenants and/or exclusive catering partners. The client is responsible for coordinating food service with vendor(s) directly, in addition to final guest count, final payment and all final catering details per their specific contract regulations.
The Downtown Market is a LEED certified facility, meaning smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on our campus. If you wish to have a cigar or cigarette, please do so along one of the adjacent streets and dispose of your waste appropriately.
