About this venue

Ursinus College opens its campus in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, for weddings and celebrations. Choose from thirteen spaces: Upper Wismer Dining Hall seats 550, the newly renovated Lower Lounge and the Red Alcove suit smaller receptions, the Berman Museum of Art has a sculpture garden at the door, and Schellhase Commons adds a plaza and a rooftop terrace. Outside there are open lawns beside the museum and in front of historic Bomberger Hall, and a plaza next to the Kaleidoscope performing arts center. Parkhurst, the in-house caterer, prepares menus on request. The campus is smoke-free.

Our event spaces

Schellhase Commons - Outdoor Terraces

Glass wall to wall, and two terraces off the room

Up to 105 guests across the room and both terraces: glass from wall to wall, with the two outdoor terraces opening right off the room, with the second-floor lobby next to it. Use it for drinks after a talk or a small launch, where people drift outside once the speeches are done. A large monitor can run a welcome slide or a short film. Just know that the glass works both ways and anyone walking past can see in. That's great for a launch, but not what you want for a private board meeting.

Room cost

4 hours at $1,620, then $405 per hour; full day (up to 8 hours) $2,700.

Schellhase Commons - Listening Room

Vaulted ceiling, brick walls and a terrace right outside

What people notice first is the ceiling. It's vaulted, the walls are exposed brick, and it doesn't feel like a meeting room at all. Thirty seats is about right for a book talk where people actually want to ask questions, or a small dinner with a guest speaker. When you need a break, the terrace is right outside the door. Parkhurst, the in-house caterer, can handle the food.

Wismer Center - Red Alcove

Sixty guests, and a space that has just changed

Red Alcove holds up to 96, inside Wismer Center, a building of brick, glass and stone. The space was reworked recently. An evening reception or a drop-in information session suits it, and Parkhurst can cater.

Upper Wismer Dining Hall

550 at the tables, upstairs in Wismer

Set tables for 550 here. Upper Wismer is the college's dining hall, on the upper floor of Wismer Center, a brick and glass building, so a banquet or a conference lunch for a few hundred is exactly what the room and the kitchen are set up for. Buffet and service areas are built into the hall. Parkhurst, the in-house caterer, builds the menu with you. Worth knowing before you book: Wismer stays open to the college during your event, and students and staff will be using the building around you.

Kaleidoscope - Lobby & Amphitheater

A lobby for 250, and a stage outside

Arrive at the Kaleidoscope and there are two places to use. Through the entrance, the lobby holds 250 for drinks or a reception before an evening show. Outdoors, the amphitheater gives you somewhere to put music or a short performance in the open air, weather allowing. The college does not run lighting or technical work in this building; an outside company does, so bring them into your planning early. Parkhurst can do the food.

    Something a little different

Such an interesting alternative to a traditional venue. The art and surroundings would make any event feel a little more unique.

    Beautiful historic building

Love the historic feel of this building. It has much more character than a typical event space. It’s a great spot for your special occasion.
