About this venue

Saltwater Cowboys opened on Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant, SC in 2017, and quickly became a beloved Charleston waterfront restaurant but its roots run much deeper. Anchored in a legacy built by Ronnie Boals, one of the original visionaries behind Shem Creek’s transformation into a dining and boating destination. Ronnie opened R.B.’s Seafood Restaurant in 1985, helping set the standard for what Shem Creek would become: a place where locals and tourists alike could enjoy fresh seafood, Southern BBQ, southern hospitality, and waterfront charm. His son, Wade Boals, continued that tradition by teaming up with longtime restaurateur Brett Yearout and international hospitality expert Joel Olindo to create Saltwater Cowboys.. With four versatile event spaces and signature Shem Creek backdrop, Saltwater Cowboys delivers laid-back charm with a touch of Southern flair. From cocktail-style mingling to full-on feasts, we’ve got the space, flavors, and vibes to make your event one to remember.

    Saltwater Cowboy ROCKS!

    From our first conversation, Saltwater Cowboys made us feel heard and supported every step of the way. The team was genuinely kind and willing to work with us on every detail, which made planning stress-free. The venue itself is spacious and beautiful, with a stunning view that our guests couldn't stop talking about. What really impressed us was the value we got for our money—everything felt like a fair price, and the staff went out of their way to take care of us. My daughter in law to be was thrilled with how flexible they were, and honestly, the experience was so good we've been back to eat there since the wedding. We'd recommend Saltwater Cowboys to any couple looking for an wonderful venue with people who genuinely care about making your day special.

Yes, all our facilities are wheelchair accessible. We also have ramps at the side entrance providing access to the first floor restaurant, back patio and Gazebo. Note we do not have elevator access to the Mezzanine or Rooftop.
