Built in 1929, Roosevelt Library is a beautifully preserved historic venue in San Antonio featuring Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, original character, and a warm, elevated atmosphere. Couples love the blend of history and flexibility, from the Grand Hall with soaring 15-foot ceilings and a wood-burning fireplace to the modern lower-level gallery, lounge, and bar. The venue accommodates up to 300 guests indoors, with additional outdoor space on the South Lawn for larger celebrations. The main level of the library captures the timeless romance of 1920s architecture. Soaring 15-foot ceilings and original hand-painted wood beams frame an inviting space centered around a massive wood-burning fireplace. The focal point is a custom-built 20-foot antique yellow pine dining table, perfect for a regal feast or an elegant indoor ceremony. With its warm natural light, Steinway piano, and curated artifacts, this floor offers a sophisticated backdrop that feels like a private, historic estate.

The Roosevelt Library is suitable for a wide range of events, including weddings, receptions, birthday celebrations, baby showers, board meetings, training seminars, and other private gatherings.
The venue fee includes access to the entire property, including the South Lawn and all public rooms on both the main and lower levels.
The Roosevelt Library can accommodate up to 300 guests across both levels, with seating for up to 80 guests in a single room.
The main level of the building is fully accessible. There is no elevator between floors; however, guests with limited mobility may access the lower level via the West doors.
Clients may select their own licensed and insured caterer. All alcoholic beverages must be purchased through the Roosevelt Library in accordance with our alcohol license. A variety of customizable bar packages are available starting with the Family Friendly non-alcoholic package for $6 per hour per person.
Yes. Our in-house chef—who has worked with the venue owner since 2002—leads our culinary team. Food and beverage services are billed separately from the venue rental fee and itemized on your invoice.
A Sales Consultant will assist with your initial inquiry and booking. Once your date is reserved, a Venue Coordinator will support you throughout the planning process and help prepare all event details.

Yes. House-trained pets are welcome for ceremonies. Pets must remain leashed or carried while indoors, and a designated individual must be responsible for their care and removal following the ceremony. Outdoor relief areas are available.
Standard venue access is from 10:00 AM to midnight. Additional access time may be arranged for a fee. Your Venue Coordinator (assigned approximately two months before your event) will advise whether earlier access is available for decorating.
Real flower petals are permitted outdoors; synthetic petals may be used indoors. For safety and cleanliness, birdseed, rice, confetti, loose glitter, and shedding décor are not permitted. Ladders may only be used by insured professionals. If you have a unique décor concept, we are happy to discuss it in advance.
Yes. Once a bar package is selected, our bar service manager will assist in designing custom signature cocktails that fit within your chosen package.
Venue access is based on rental hours, not guest arrival and departure times. Security and beverage services are required during any period in which guests, vendors, or hosts are present. If outside vendors require early access or extended teardown time, security coverage must be scheduled accordingly. Your Venue Coordinator will review these details during planning.
Yes, the ceremony may be held on the large South Lawn, which provides a beautiful outdoor setting for exchanging vows. This open, landscaped space offers ample room for seating arrangements and allows for a wide range of design possibilities.
