About this venue

Come and see one of the few remaining street-running train tracks in the entire country! It is a unique experience to watch the freight trains run down the middle of Main Street in La Grange’s business district. Visitors come from all over the country to partake! Trains pass through the city an average of 23 times a day, giving spectators ample opportunity to enjoy this phenomenon. The tracks can be viewed conveniently and comfortably from the train observation tower on Main Street. The La Grange Railroad Museum is a must-see destination. The railroad was (and still is) an integral part of La Grange’s history. Don’t miss out!

LaGrange Railroad Museum

Perfect for any occasion.

Just one block east of the quaint downtown of LaGrange, KY, venue space is available in the museum or the authentic 1929 Dining Car. The beautiful L&N Dining Car has room for up to 43 seated at tables for dinner. There are stainless steel counters in the back for your caterer to prepare for service. Attached to the dining car is a caboose that works beautifully for the bride and her party to get ready for the big event — transforming the dining car from a wedding chapel to a reception dinner takes approximately 20 minutes. During the transformation, your guests are welcome to go into the museum building, enjoy the fascinating displays and learn about the history of LaGrange and its railroad. In addition to an Officiant on staff, we also have direct access to a full-service wedding coordinator, photographer, and a superb caterer with amazing food that is fairly priced.
