Our intimate wedding venue offers lodging accommodations for up to 16 guests or more (if you include camping on our land) for 2+ nights, with indoor/outdoor space to host around 100 guests for your ceremony and reception.     Idlewild Ridge is a magical venue!!!

    I recently had my wedding at Idlewild Ridge, and Susannah and Stephanie were an absolute pleasure to work with. They made sure the venue was perfectly prepared and ensured everything ran smoothly on our big day. I searched for six months to find the perfect wedding venue, and Idlewild Ridge truly embodied everything my husband and I were looking for. Having the venue for the entire weekend was incredible — it allowed guests to camp or stay in nearby Airbnbs, cabins, or hotels, and we loved being able to bring in our own vendors to make the wedding uniquely ours. This venue absolutely screams Colorado! From the barn to the surrounding national forest and all the historical Colorado artifacts, every detail felt authentic. Many of our guests said that out of all the Colorado and mountain weddings they’ve attended, this one felt the most genuine and true to the setting. We are still riding the high from our magical wedding weekend! I highly recommend booking Idlewild Ridge if you’re looking for flexibility and the freedom to create the wedding experience you truly want.

    A thousand times over, yes!

    We originally took Idlewild off our list because it was a little further from Denver than we wanted to be, but after looking around at more local venues and comparing all that was included, it was a no brainer. Stephanie and Susannah are SO accommodating and helpful. They have put so much work into the venue and they’re constantly updating and making improvements. We had the freedom to do almost anything we wanted for the weekend and it all came together exactly as we imagined it. Their included sound systems worked wonderfully, they have decor options for you to choose from or you can bring your own, the cabins and tents on the property worked wonderfully for us and our guests, and it was the perfect backdrop to a family and nature oriented weekend. Having the venue from Friday-Sunday was a game changer, we did almost all of our setup on Friday and had a big barbecue for our familes and anyone that wanted to come on Friday evening, so Saturday was so much more laid back than it could’ve been. I would recommend Idlewild again and again, and I’m so grateful for Stephanie and Susannah and all they’ve put into Idlewild, and we also loved being able to support a locally owned small business for our big day!

    A gem!

    This is SUCH a hidden gem of a venue! Having the full weekend to spend with our friends and family was such a gift and Idlewild was perfect for that. So many guests came from out of state and were super impressed with the whole area and the beauty of the venue in particular. They also loved that they could really see how "personalized to us" we got to make the wedding, thanks to the flexibility of Idlewild. One of our favorite parts was that we got to have the ceremony in a spot that they hadn't held one before, but were completely up for making it work. It was a clearing in the forest, nestled by trees and with the perfect afternoon light. The barn is beautiful, but we really wanted to have cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing all outside as well and they were happy to make that work too! That was really important to us and we were so glad to pull it off. This venue is great for a couple who is creative and wants to truly make it their own, OR for the minimalistic couple who wants to let their natural surroundings do most of the talking. Definitely go check it out and get in before it gets better well-known and books out several years in advance

    Epic Wedding Venue!

    Idlewild Ridge was the perfect wedding venue for us. We loved the remote location right next to the beautiful 11 mile canyon. Great spot for photos and outdoor activities. The historic cabins and glamping tents were charming and well appointed. And the modern barn was perfect for the reception and dance party. Also the communal shower and kitchen were a major plus. Tons of camping spots, plenty of space for all our friends in a nice forested area with big granite boulders. Also it backs up to national forest so there’s lots of space to roam. As much as we loved the property what really made Idlewild special was the family who owned the property. This fun loving trio was the perfect balance between being super helpful and available when you need them while also giving us free rein of the property and not being at all controlling or overbearing. They were always available to help while being just out of view. And best of all they actually wanted us to party, load music, campfires and late night shenanigans were actually encouraged. This place is magical! We’re so happy we chose Idlewild Ridge!

    the perfect rustic & intimate mtn setting

    We got married here a little under a year ago and absolutely loved it. Our non-negotiables while looking for a venue were no curfew for music/dancing, having our wedding party stay onsite with us and being able to choose our own vendors. This place hit the mark! You cannot beat the accommodations, it’s such a unique experience for friends and family and we had so much fun getting to stay a few days before our wedding. There are wildflowers all over the property which just adds to the natural bliss and beauty of your big day. The owner and her family are some of the sweetest, most genuine people and we have kept in touch since our big day. We can’t wait to show our kids one day and create even more memories.

We are booking now for 2027! Wedding season is from June through mid-October. We may have last minute openings for 2026 on a weekend, or during the week so please inquire! We have a NEW OFF SEASON WEDDING options available for 2026-2027. Includes months of November, December, January, February, March, and April. Please inquire for more details. Denver International Airport is 2 to 2.5 hours to Idlewild, depending on traffic. Colorado Springs Airport is 1 hour to Idlewild, depending on traffic. This airport is small and has limited flight options. 285 Highway is a scenic route to try! We are conveniently located off of Highway 24 but are backed by the Pike National Forest! Towns with markets, convenient stores, restaurants are within a few miles. Woodland Park is 20 minutes away, Colorado Springs about 45 minutes away.
Yes, we provide a lower rate for weekday weddings: Monday-Thursdays only.
No, we do not provide food, alcohol, or vendors. You are welcome to bring your own alcohol and food. It is a requirement for our clients to obtain and show evidence of liability insurance to fully cover the event. Also, we strongly encourage using certified bartenders and licensed caterers to ensure safety and legal compliance for hosts and their guests. We do have tables, some food/beverage serving supplies as extra rental, bar area, cake table for your use to help accommodate your event, however your vendors may provide what is needed.

As late as you and your guests would like! We encourage no outside speakers past 11 pm.
You can fully customize your special day for you and your guests! All wedding vendors and vendor fees are NOT included. Vendors include photographer, bartender, caterer, florist, planner, videographer, music, sound system etc. You must have separate agreements with your vendors. We do not provide outdoor event tents. If you book with us, we have a list of vetted recommended vendors in the area as a part of your wedding packet.
Of course! When you reserve a wedding weekend package, it includes the barn and all accommodations for your loved ones and rehearsal. Also, the ranch is close enough to towns that offer options for small gatherings or parties. We can recommend some great places and will be in the wedding packet.
We recommend looking at the many various options for Airbnb or VRBO lodging just minutes away from the ranch. Woodland Park has hotels and is 20 minutes away.
Yes! You and your guests can have your fur babies join you as a perk if you book a wedding package!
Yes, you can use your own decorations for the ceremony site, the barn, and outdoors. We ask that all the decor that belong with the lodging accommodations remains the same.
Yes. As a perk to your wedding package your guests can camp with tents, camper vans or RVs (no hook-ups available). Campers can use the ranch's amenities cabin with outdoor private shower, the port-a-potty, indoor bathrooms, and must not leave any food or trash outside.
A detailed site map will be available in the package you will receive upon booking and there will be a sign for parking.

The elevation of Lake George, CO is just under 8000 ft.
Depending on availability, we offer a late checkout of 5 pm your last reserved day for an extra cost of $500.
Peak season is beginning of June to mid-October.
Off season, winter/cold season months are mid October to end of May. The only lodging available during these months is the main cabin. The heated barn with tables and chairs, plus a ceremony arch included with our off-season option.
