About this venue

Historic Killarney is a Gothic Revival estate dating to 1858, redesigned in the early 1900s by Richard Sharp Smith, the supervising architect of the Biltmore Estate. That same legacy of craftsmanship lives in every detail here. What makes Killarney unique is that your entire celebration happens in one place. Rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, overnight accommodations, and morning-after brunch, all on one private historic estate. No shuttles, no rushing. Just you, your people, and a weekend that feels like it belongs to you. Wraparound porches, mature gardens, elegant parlors, and stunning architecture give every moment a naturally beautiful backdrop. Your closest circle sleeps on-site, and the estate becomes your home for the weekend. Up to 100 guests. Outside vendors welcome. Tours available by appointment.

    Historical happiness

    My wife and I were looking for a space with plenty of room for guests and vendors, but it also had to have a unique flare. If you're looking for the same, Killarney's the house for you. It has a wonderfully laid out yard and garden, perfect for pictures and cocktails with friends and family. The house is stunning. Large bedrooms, big beautiful kitchen, and plenty of entertaining space. But the true gem about this house is the history. There's too much to write about here, but I promise you, if you're a history buff, this is the place for you.

Yes! You are welcome to bring your own alcohol. We recommend working with a licensed bartender or caterer for service.
Yes! We have 11 on-site parking spaces, plus 50+ additional spaces available at the church across the street. A donation of $100–$150 to the church is requested for each event day. Your guests will have no trouble arriving and departing with ease.
We do our best to accommodate all guests. As a historic property dating to 1858, some areas of the estate have limitations, but please reach out so we can discuss your specific needs and ensure everyone feels welcome.
The closest airport is Asheville Regional Airport (AVL), roughly a 17-minute drive. It's served by major airlines including American, Delta, United, and Allegiant, with rental cars, taxis, and rideshares all available. For guests flying from farther away, Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is approximately a 2-hour drive through beautiful mountain scenery.
Our starting rental fee includes exclusive access to the historic property and grounds, use of indoor and outdoor entertaining spaces, wraparound porches and gardens, tables and chairs, parking, and access for outside vendors. Overnight accommodations for up to 10–14 guests are also included, making it a truly all-in-one experience.

As a historic estate dating to 1858, Historic Killarney does not currently have ADA accessible facilities. We encourage guests with specific accessibility needs to reach out prior to booking so we can discuss the property layout and do our best to accommodate your celebration.
