About this venue

The Nagami kumquat is one of the most widely grown varieties. Its oval-shaped fruit develops best with plenty of sunshine and careful irrigation. Kumquat trees are evergreen, producing glossy green foliage, fragrant white blossoms, and colorful fruit that can remain on the tree for an extended period. The fruit generally becomes sweeter as it matures. Kumquats are versatile in the kitchen. They can be enjoyed fresh, sliced into salads, candied, preserved, made into marmalade, or incorporated into sauces, desserts, and beverages. They are naturally rich in vitamin C and provide dietary fiber, particularly because the entire peel is eaten. Growing kumquats also requires patience. Flowering, fruit set, irrigation, nutrition, weather, and harvest timing all influence the final crop. From fragrant blossoms to ripe orange fruit, a productive kumquat orchard represents months of careful attention and farming—a small fruit with a surprisingly big personality.

    Amazing farm retreat

    Had an amazing 8 nights stay at Happy Hills Farm! The grounds are so gorgeous with all of the trees - kumquat, lemon, orange and avocado. The property surrounded by beautiful flowers. The hosts were the nicest people and their two young children were such a joy. We were so very comfortable in our space. Beautiful setting in the upstairs barn. The bed and bedding were luxurious- mattress and pillows. Shower was extremely nice. Even the sofa was relaxing and comfy. Nice deck on the outside to see the views of this VRBO. Kitchen was very well stocked with cookware, towel, seasonings etc. can’t say enough! will be back the next time we are in Oceanside!!

    Wedding Style Shoot

    Secret Garden Floral Studio hosted their first style shoot at the new Happy Hills Farm. As a vendor we definitely recommend this venue for any event. The owner John is very helpful and communication is great which makes him a great vendor! The drive to the venue is so beautiful as well as all the surroundings in the venue property, kumquat tree's, bougainvillea and chickens!     From the moment we arrived, it felt like we had stepped into our own private paradise. This farm property is not just a venue—it’s an experience.
